I have a 1961 no mint mark, full steps with thin line top to bottom. Very fine. Need info on value.

From 1938-2012 I have all of them except the 2009 P and D. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack.

This may be a dumb question, but I'm new to this. What exactly are these "steps" you keep mentioning? Is it steps in grading and authentication?
1st of all - Thanx for watching, and there are no dumb questions - If you don't ask you won't learn. My apologies if it was unclear, perhaps I could have explained it better. The steps in this case refers to the steps on the front of the Monticello Building on the reverse design of the coin.
A coin with a clean sharp strike, from a fresh and crisp die, will clearly show 5 full steps in front of the building. A worn die or a weak strike will show fewer steps or have the steps be blurred out alltogether. So if your coin has "full steps" then it has better detail to the design and is a better example of how the coin is meant to look, and because of that it will be worth more to specialist collectors.

World Numismatic News i have a 74 & 75 S proof blue toned nickels they are very high grade if graded both full steps i am looking to sell.
I have w 1980 d nickel no fs just 2 lines where the fs should be is that worth anything?
Might be a weak strike, tough to tell withouthaving seen the coin.

Sounds like normal Philadelphia minted coins, 1966 didn't have any errors like that reported.

i have a 1968 mint 5 step nickle is it worth any amount of money ?
Mint mark? D or S? Assuming you coin is MS65, which would be considered gem for the date , Then the Denver coin wouldn't be worth all that much. But The San Francisco 1968 S with 5 full steps is actually quite valuable, slabbed in ms64-65 with 5 full steps I'd say $300 to $500 on a good day.

The #8 spot was shown as a 1949-S and the heading said the same, although you stated it was a 1948-S. I was wondering which one was correct?

That one is not considered as valuable yet, a large mintage and it's still a bit 'new' or recent as a date.

An easy way to go is to check the PCGS Coin Facts site, you can use PhotoGrade to try and match the grade if you cant grade the coin yourself, and see the approximate value. It may sound simplistic but checking ebay for similar coins can also give you an idea of what a realistic market value might be. Hope this helps

How bout a 1951d nickel and a 1945p nickel what are they worth
Well, the 45P is a wartime nickel so that still has some silver in it, but the 51 is just pocket change unless it's in really great condition.

What is an 1853 and an 1873 american dime worth
OK - depends on grade. With these coins I'll assume a grade of F12 or thereabouts, also I'm assuming all these are Philadelphia mint and not branch mint coins. The 1873 about $25, unless you have the DDO then at least $1000. The 1853 about $25 again unless you have the "no arrows" variety - then around $300. Hope this helps.

Hello there, I just want to let you know that I do have a 1962 Nickel that is like a brand new.
The condition of this nickel is perfect. Very Shinny and no scratches. What is your opinion about the value of this Nickel? Would you like a picture?
Hi, A picture would help yes. There were two 1962 nickels, the 1962 and the 1962 d. Of the two the one without the mint mark from the Philadelphia mint would be worth holding on to in a higher grade. You won't pay off the mortgage with it but it could be worth in the range of $5-$15 if it is in as good nic as you say. The 1962 d coin, from the Denver mint, had a mintage of over 280 million, so even in a very high grade it would be woth maybe a couple of dollars raw.

Well, that'll depend on their condition, but wartime nickels are silver which makes them more valuable than regulat nickels. Most coins would go for between $3 and $10 each though.

It depends on rather or not it's in good condition or full steps and those are wartime nickels and if it's silver and hasn't been widely circulated and hasn't been cleaned and is in good shape, could be worth 5cents to a couple hundred thousand depending on if it is not silver, then your looking at a couple hundred grand if it has a P, S, OR D above the capital
