On March 5, 2016, Craig McCracken announced that the show will not be returning for a third season and that the second season will be the series' last. He stated that he had plans to continue producing the show, but Disney declined to order more episodes.

@Douglas Freeman They just separated the episodes into four parts. It was originally put together to make 2. So, there wasn't continued episodes. B R I N G T H E S H O W B A C K, D I S N E Y.
It’s like gravity falls when it was over people were just MAD like for this show.

Actually, the first 24 episodes of season 1 aired the long version. Starting with the 25th episode, they aired the short version, which, of course, is the version seen in the video.
