Oh my. I write these descriptions out after I watch the videos... but my mind is still too foggy from what I just watched to type coherently. I LOVED that to BITS. Jolin Tsai... PLEASE tell me what you know about her! I must check more out...!
PLAY was absolutely humorous to me, and very endearing was her acting as well. I loved her voice, i loved the drops, the beat... actually everything.
UGLY BEAUTY was also INCREDIBLE. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED the message, sound, beat, her voice, her acting AGAIN... her outfit changes. Jolin is a Goddess obviously, so I must learn more. @@Wehttam You're welcome! Most people wouldn't be offended with the term C-pop. It's just kinda less accurate and may cause confusion as to the nationality of the artists. There are many big names in this genre who are Taiwanese, Singaporean, Malaysian (and of course some are Chinese).

Agreed. I like BTS, but Cpop has a lot more GREAT solo artists! While Kpop produces groups of Kpop singers, Cpop has a lot of individually talented, unique singers!

Only when we really love each part of ourself, shows the true us. (Just like the end of the scene, only when all the inner dramas are all turned off, light up our true face. )

Ugly beauty is talking about her real life. When she first came out in 1999. She was so pretty that college kids chased her around everywhere. It stirred up lots of critics, saying her voice is funny, her dancing is terrible, she dressed ugly, etc... It made her practice dancing to become a great dancer and her singing just got better and better. She insisted on quality and it showed on her very well done videos. In fact, the ‘Play’ you are watching won the German red dot award of the year’s best innovative UA-cam film.

each Character represent different social disorder,
The rich queen means show off and splurge ,she shows how rich style she could live with.
The fake hipster means shallow, just want to look how artistic ouside not in the inside.

Wehttam No need to apologize! A lot of people aren’t aware of the Taiwan/China issues. But to a lot of Taiwanese people, it is a very sensitive topic because many Chinese people like to claim Taiwan’s artistry and music that would only be possible from growing up and living in a society like Taiwan and not under PRC rule. Yes they share the same language and culture to an extent but also worlds apart. The truth is there is more freedom in Taiwan to express different social issues which is evident in the music and movies. Many of the videos and topics Jolin Tsai discusses are forbidden in Mainland China. Saying Taiwan is China angers many Taiwanese people because it is seen as political and an attempt to erase and bully them from being proud of being from Taiwan.
I almost think it’s better to say Taiwanese Chinese. Just like they use Malaysian Chinese or Singaporean Chinese. Because where you grow up definitely makes an individual different! 😊
