Thank you for this tutorial. I really needed someone to give me a useful entrance into Notion, and you did just that. I see that mastery of this program takes years, but I now understand how Notion is way smarter than my previous productivity tool.

Hi Tom, great video, thankyou! I'm a bit stuck on the instructions beggining around 5.44 as Notion has changed their settings since 2020. There is no template button anymore under the three dots on the linked database. How would you recommend to proceed? Thankyou!!

ahhh thank you - I've been trying to figure out how to give the template the project name for at least two hours now. I could see how useful it would be but couldn't figure it out from a different (more famous) video explanation. I way preferred your presentation style. thanks dude now I've got my task & project management up and running finally ffs that took way too long but I made it woo

Holy 🐮! I was just trying to do this same thing and got stuck. I was creating a subdatabase inside each project card and trying to extract the tasks from each one of them with the Relation property in a single "Tasks for today" master database. This solution has some extra steps but it does exactly what I had planned. Thank you!

One thing I noticed while working through this setup is that linked databases now are not backlinked automatically. When you create the link between projects and tasks, you need to check the box that says "show on tasks" in order to have a backlink column to projects in your tasks database. I found out that this was important when setting up the filter for the board view, because the project template proposed here filters the task list based on the project backlink.

I love the idea of having a filtered linked database inside the template page!
I like that you're showing your face in a circle.
    I suggest:
    - Editing the video for color correction (reducing the yellow tone)
    - Decreasing the volume of the background music (and or selecting a different sound track) I found it to be annoying and distracting at some times during the video while I wanted to try and focus in what your were saying

Hey Tom, great video. I like the way your setup is clean and includes only the important things. It's actually similar to my setup which I present on my channel.
Wish you happy new year 🎉 Alex

Tom, thanks for the great video. I've set this system up in my Notion account. How do I move existing projects into this method since they exist just like you described at the beginning of this video? That way I will be able to add additional tasks in the template and keep tasks tied to projects.Thanks.

Just so you know, an easier way to create linked databases is to type "/create linked database" and then search for the database you want to link! Much quicker and you don't need to do a clunky copy and paste!

Love your videos man you should make a patreon and consider maybe also doing general productivity/motivation videos. Anyways there are not many notion tutorials like this out so go for it corner this market before notion becomes even bigger! Also would like a video on how to make an productive dashboard

Hey Brandon, really appreciate the feedback. I'd love to make more general productivity videos (I did a few at the start of the channel) but like you mentioned it's good to win the Notion corner and then branch out!
You can check out my newsletter where I give out broader information! Cool will put that idea in the backlog, it's a good one and would be cool to go through the principles of what makes a good dashboard

I am not getting the "paste as a linked database" you mention at the 5:23 mark. I am assuming Notion has moved it since you created this video. How can I do it now?

Unfortunately, this video is aging really fast. It is 3 years old and many important features of Notion that thise this video mentions have been changed and replaced. The part where you are creating new template around 6th is way too fast for a new beginner and cannot be translated to newest version of Notion easily
