      @@sam_04930 So my answer to this is probably a bit counterintuitive. Generally to learn business I would not advise reading business books, apart from maybe a handful of best in class books like 'The innovators dillema' 'Good to great' and others. To get a foundational knowledge of business I think you need a foundational knowledge of the world. Study micro-economics (text books are the best), macro-economics (again textbooks) psychology (pop psychology is fine) , history, design, maths and science. You will learn powerful models from understanding the big ideas of these books which you can transfer to any walk of life. Then when you start a business (and foundational knowledge is not required for that, it will just help), read books as you need them. For example you might come across a marketing problem and start reading marketing books, or a specific problem around product development. The most important thing when building up this specific knowledge is to only read the books WHEN YOU REQUIRE THEM. Otherwise it's just mental masturbation, you are learning for the sake of it and you'll soon quickly forget. Regarding the point on leadership, I think you can kill two birds with one stone here. Read biographies of great business people. Jobs, Musk, Carnegie, Bezos, Jamie Dimon, Rockerfeller etc. Ideally, read books of leaders who you resonate with. If you are a really great people person, Jobs won't resonate, he was a fanatic ideologist who was quite authoritarian, however Jamie Dimon is much more a people person. The benef of this is as well as learning leadership you'll also learn business, even better if you can pick business leaders you admire who also lead companies you'd like to create! Finally with all of this, don't rush the process, it will take years or decades of dedicated reading to build up your own worldview and specific knowledge, but it must be combined with DOING. you need to actually a start a business- the point of theory is to enable, and help you make sense of the practice, people forget this... Hope that helps!

    • @sam_04930
      @sam_04930 8 місяців тому

      Thankyou so much for writing such a lengthy informative answer. I really think I read business books and leadership to find the best suited answer to daily life question to shape my personality right away. For example I read jobs biography and I learnt that I should be a level higher than the conventional concepts. That's why it's my way of self development because some business books like a.i superpowers deal with the technical knowledge too. So business books in general means the set of communication, management, negotiations, acquisition, competition, sales, marketing, product development are actually similar real life challanges just we have to be technical not conventional and look at each problem with another dynamic angle(I call it my lens ). Thankyou again

    It's not a "water" fast if you're drinking coffee! For this fast you did everything to set yourself up to fail and you did it spectacularly! Stuffing your face the way you did at the end of a 4 day coffee fast really was the dumbest thing I've seen. You know nothing about fasting and how to do it and break it correctly, yet seem to have an opinion on it. I strongly suggest you educate yourself fully before making these mindless videos!

    Over complication. Here what's the general challenge and problem your dealing with? What are you trying to accomplish. Do you think anyone or anything related to what your doing that can help. Hint it's yeah there is Example So if my bike breaks down do I need a new bike. Hell no. I need the bike to run right. Let's say I don't know much about bikes. I could figure out a bit in my own. I look. I gain info. But now let's say I still don't know How would I know. I'd go to a place with more info right. Like a bike shop or institute. It's boiling down the problem. Identifying your goal. Looking at other information sources that relate. Come on guys it's not difficult

      I'm not sure I agree, sure when you are used to thinking from first principles its easy to give a simplistic example like this and say 'look this is how you do it, it's simple' But this is akin to a competent swimmer saying 'look how easy it is to swim just move your arms and legs like this' In my eyes, if you haven't been bought up thinking from first principles a great way to get ahead is to study physics and other first principles topics. It's a lense to view the world

    I have just completed a 4-day 96hr fast. I was aiming for a 3-day but felt so good on day 3 that I continued. As a carnivore used to eating one meal a day and already being fat adapted, I honestly found this fast easy and pleasurable. I think the carb addiction that you clearly have is the reason you struggled. I only had a bit of hunger signals on the first day really and eventually on day 4. I never felt tired and mentally felt very alert. Sleep was fantastic as is normal for a carnivore. No lack of energy and I work a physical job so don't do additional exercise. I recommend reading Dr Fung's book on fasting: The Complete Guide to Fasting. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I'm recently making deliberate efforts to reading for the sole purpose of becoming better overall than who I was in the past. right now my goal is to develop a strong memory capable of recalling information in great detail. I'm on a quest to find out how to get to this point. if there are any insights on this you've got to share, I'll be very appreciative. Thanks again.

      Hey man these comments mean a lot thanks! Regarding memory, honestly I'd question this as a goal. To me what's more important is building up a small but powerful foundation of models you can use to look at any problem, I used to be big into memorising stuff but honestly I think the good stuff generally sticks and outside of academia it's not that useful! How come you want to remember so much information?
