    I have seen spheres generated by rotating stock in rotating table, while cutting with a fly cutter. The circle of the fly cutter generates a sphere on the rotating stock. But CNC came out pretty well!

    Looks amazing! I was really hoping you’d turn your stock and do the full sphere though! That’s a challenge I remember my CNC teacher mentioning.

    What type of machine did you build? Large benchtop milling machine, with linear guideways and ballscrews? (Same as "Stef van Itterzon" did, but than with concrete?)

      @@marson_cnc, was it hard to align the different guideways exact perpendicular to each other? What level of alignment did you obtained (in hunderds of millimeters per 100 mm)?

      Not hard but time consuming, also i used a big granite square as a reference. The result is a tolerance of +- 0.01 mm on the entire lenght of the axis (squareness too), i’m very satisfied of that.

      My machine is capable but i am having problem of tool burning and rubbing federated is also not so high it's about 100 something it's very slow for my machine but after that it's burning and and rubbing tha edge of my tool I just want good nc operations programing and experimenting

    In what software did you write a program for the machine? I just write manually, on a LinuxCNC machine. But it's long and difficult to do it manually, I'm looking for a program in which you can do this. Thanks!

      Yes, but this spindle has max torque at 24k rpm. At 15k it get stuck with a 0.6 mm Ae, with 24k it can do 1,5mm with the tool in the video.

      @@marson_cnc Yeah, some machines are stronger at higher speeds. A machine at my work run fine up to 5500, vibrate at 6000-8000 and run fine at 9000-20000.

    Бедный станок,даже по звуку слышно,что Шпиндель очень сильно напрягается при фрезеровании,это какой-то маломощный станок.

      Да, в этом видео инвертор еще не правильно настроен.

      @Icarus AP : According to the title, this video is about testing a DIY CNC machine... what would be the point of making it on a lathe. 🤔
      Making a hemisphere on a lathe is not necessarily faster or cheaper. If your lathe does not have CNC capabilty, or a spherical turning attachment, you are going to have to spend some money, or spend a lot of time trying to fudge it!
