Elderly people need a hobby. I am in my 80's and I could give a shit what people do as long as they don't cram it down my throat. I keep busy. She uses Japanese field glasses and trip wires to keep in the know. DO WHATCHA GOTTA DO BIG GUY.
If she doesn’t like it then she needs to build a fence for privacy, the land owner should be able to do whatever he wants on his property! She sounds like a problem causer who needs to tend to her own business! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Some people are okay with change when it benefits them But when it done it doesn't benefit them they're scared of it and they'll do anything they can to stop it
NIMBY is everywhere and some of it borders on the comical, like the folks who own $20 mil condos and townhouses along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade who are faced with their "backyards" over the BQE literally collapsing any day now but who fight every practical and logical plan to fix this crumbling tri-level stack of highway. Never mind what such a collapse could do to their own foundations.
In the UK we call them NIMBY 's -- Not In My Back Yard. Always the first to say infrastructure need improving in their area, that the mobile signal is weak etc and are the first to complain and block development plans, then always complain about how much things cost to build! Conveniently forgetting the fact their objections cost tens or hundreds of thousands in legal fees and months/years of delays.
They developing around me five homes per acre subdivisions 3000 acres 30,000 homes. They moving in by groves down here Northwest Florida and it's sad too. Watching all these big farm areas just turned into subdivision woods I play in or or played in or gone.
At least two decades ago there was an article in a local Washington DC magazine about ‘city folk’ moving 60 miles west for the tranquility of the open countryside.. In the majority of cases, it didn’t take long for them to realize there was nothing out there, & nothing for their kids to do.. Real Estate agents loved it, because they could resell the same property every few years.. 🤪
Great job Davin,if the woman is complaining about what being done to the property now, I can imagine what will happen when the loggers show up and start taking down all those pine trees.you did what you were hired to do.great video as always.just continue on to the next project and be safe.👍👍👍😎😎😎
We have the same issue with N.I.M.B.Y"s (Not In My Backyard) here as well. Bring a truckload of cash, outbid the locals for housing/acreage, build a McMansion, and then try to run everyone else's lives.
Agree with your position. I moved here (Brunswick County, NC) from somewhere else, and you'll never hear me complain about growth or the cutting of trees. What many people fail to realize, a significant portion of the land in the Coastal North and South Carolina region, that are now developments. The land was once tree farms owned by International Paper, used for timber and wood pulp production. IP still has significant land holdings in the region. Transplants move here and complain that "heritage pines and forests" are being destroyed. When the trees being cut down are simply stands of planted pines, junk trees, vines, and overgrowth from decades of neglect. A bunch of old biddies that have never held a saw, rake, or shovel in their hand, and don't know the first thing about forest management.
It’s like people that buy a new house built next to an airport that’s been there for 60 years then complain about the jet engine noise. You can’t stop progress, especially when the government is going to make more tax money from 50 homes or apartments than the empty land did.
Love your channel... Very calming for me. I totally agree with you on the hypocrisy people exhibit over development. I'm a land surveyor with 29 years in the bush and I can't count the number of times people will come up and said the same thing" oh it's a shame that they tore down the woods ",well I told this one lady yeah that's what the people said when they built your house and she looked at me like I was insane. Keep being real my friend.
If she's upset at the development happening in Pawleys Island, she should consider herself lucky that it took this long for that lot to be snapped up and developed. If the Lachicotte family decides to sell the land on the other side of the Hammock Shops, the pace of development will only intensify on that side of the creek. FYI, if she's looking for peace and isolation and wants to stay near the coast, I understand there's a lot of land available in Andrews at a pretty cheap price...
More house and developments equals more taxes but eventually higher taxes because of infrastructure.I can see both sides of the argument but if those that want responsible development need to attend their community board meetings so they know what’s coming.I used to live in a nice borough of NYC but developers and politicians are in bed together. They buy up huge old houses only to demolish them and build ghetto developments with thousands of homes that the old infrastructure can’t handle. Now you have big corporations like Blackrock buying up entire neighborhoods so they’re the landlords. Its becoming a welfare state in every state no matter where people move.I know so many people who left NYC to go to the Carolinas but now are complaining of traffic and cost of living there now also.
I think the issue is that they want to live in a development where it is not overpopulated, and they have a bit of privacy from their neighbors. My mother lives in a Florida development where it was supposed to be 150 units and turned out to become 350 units and a lot of them are built like a duplex having 2 units connected and she was not happy.
This job looks great Davon, so much cleaner than it was! It’s not like the owner is leveling the woods, I think it’s perfect and still saved the hardwood and shade trees!
Davin you and Spitfire ROCKED it!! Keep, or buy, that head, wow it really does amazing work!! Wow, what sweet looking mulch daymnnnn!! So amazingly park like for sure! Ok, soooo she has in issue... wow... WHO CARES?? I mean you said it all, someone went in and "developed" her property to make her home and now... omggg how stupid some can get when the forget how theirs came about eh?? Anywho... Great work as always and keep it up!!
I like the people that move out into the country by farm land then complain about the smell of the farms and tractors on the road. I’ve ya wanna live out here do smell checks, come out late at night and listen closely too. Smell travels, hangs around in the hot humid temps and sounds in the country at night travels as well. Silly me didn’t know there was a car race track miles from me. Heard it the first weekend and thought…oh this sucks. Now I actually enjoy the rumbling sound…I could do without the fireworks after the race but that’s because the animals get scared and will never get use to it. It doesn’t last too long so there is always good to find. Be nice and friendly but don’t make good friends with your neighbors. It’s easier in the long run.
If you live where there is vacant land next to you and you don't want it developed - BUY IT YOURSELF!!! Then, you can have it any way you want it, lol.
what a good good job you have done on this project, thank you for taking us along , i love it, u are a pro, we love your work, new hampshire loves you.
Yeah, Davin, I live in S.E. Michigan and my kids are older in thier 20`s and 30`, last year my ex wife moved to Myrtle Beach, so yeah it`s nice to have her far away and closer to you, teehee. It cleaned up nice, you bet you saved them a fortune, brush doesn`t pack tight, that would have been 100 truck loads to haul, that mulch they can take compact loads, love that mulch head, be well buddy.
I don't know the tax structure there, but the lady has no chance with the county because they want higher value on this property in order to reassess for more tax revenue from it.
Exactly,i can understand why people are upset but it’s up to those who already live there to know what’s coming.More people brings more taxes and eventually higher taxes.Everyone who moved there were escaping from what’s happening there now.
This is so locked in stone it has an acronym in the development world. It is HBU (higher better use) . Basically it really just refers to monkey see monkey do cookie cutter projects that any tool can build if they ha e the finances and not much else ... it doesn't take any serious brains or savvy which is why it is so popular... strip malls and cookie cutter housing developments . Meanwhile ... land that was actually already being used for it's highest best use gets converted to another gar🚮age development
In one way, Daven, I have to agree with you, as long as it is done responsibly, as you stated. Job well done. Daven.! God bless you, hugs to your dogs..
I have been following you for a while and love your content. I watched all the episodes on this job, and was just hoping to see what it looked like when the developer “cleaned up” so thank you for going back there at the end. Thanks for producing great content!
Don’t blame the person for being upset, where I’m at it was a nice small area but over the last 5 or so years so many farms and other areas gone just huge houses, condos and it’s like cmon
Coupla questions. In what ways is this TM Cancela superior to the one you already have? Or is it? And, did Chris @ LetsDig18 consult with you before he bought one for himself?
I can understand that to as well. Because We have the same problem here on Delmarva. That Developer's will buy up Land just to put 30 to 40 home's on it. Our growth rate has doubled and tripled here in the past 5yrs.
Well, only the people that made a profit on the development benefits from it. Nearby neighbors get stuck with all of the dirt, noise and traffic from the construction and the traffic problems that usually come with it. The developer just stuffs his pockets and leaves all of the headaches behind.
Nosy people are losers that need to get a life, or rent one for the weekend. For us they had one, they wouldn’t need to create problems that never needed to exist in the first place!
Since you tur ed off comments for the scrub clearing video, ill comment here. The irate nieghbor was right. The scrub provided privacy and your client was working hard to make enemies of the nieghbors. Yes sir. Yes sir. Yes sir.
She built a house right on the boundary. Knowing that the next lot will be cleared and built on. Hypocrites are everywhere.
If that person was very worried about it they should have bought the property to keep it from being developed.
Elderly people need a hobby. I am in my 80's and I could give a shit what people do as long as they don't cram it down my throat. I keep busy. She uses Japanese field glasses and trip wires to keep in the know. DO WHATCHA GOTTA DO BIG GUY.

That is something that We need to do. Buy stock in Tri-Pods.

As for the privacy issue for that woman…she should have either bought the land or she can put up the highest fence she’s allowed.
If you don't want a property to be developed, buy it yourself and don't develop it. Otherwise, it is not your decision to make.
They developing around me five homes per acre subdivisions 3000 acres 30,000 homes. They moving in by groves down here Northwest Florida and it's sad too. Watching all these big farm areas just turned into subdivision woods I play in or or played in or gone.

We call people like that woman a NIMBY. Not In My Back Yard. They're everywhere.
Davin they can solve their own problems….buy lots on each side of their home! Simple, then they control who’s next door…
We have the same issue with N.I.M.B.Y"s (Not In My Backyard) here as well. Bring a truckload of cash, outbid the locals for housing/acreage, build a McMansion, and then try to run everyone else's lives.
Happening all over the Carolinas
Simply tell her that by developing this spot next door to her It makes her property go up in value
Maybe not mention that her property taxes will go up when the value goes up around here.

This is true!
Thank you for your response
Ps I enjoy watching your channel
I guess I can see both sides of the story so I'm keeping my nose out. However really good job done and dusted. Well done.
It’s like people that buy a new house built next to an airport that’s been there for 60 years then complain about the jet engine noise. You can’t stop progress, especially when the government is going to make more tax money from 50 homes or apartments than the empty land did.

This is you call a clean cut. It looks so good. Good luck to fussy lady😅

That Developer will probably be calling on You again. And am sure that he will have You on Speed Dial.
Looks great 😊

Mine did too, but in '99 but anywho... feel the same way... lol
Good job, love watching your videos. Watching from Canada.
To add to your soapbox; I would say that if they wanted a house surrounded by a forest then buy that land, problem solved. 😊
It will be a beautiful neighborhood once completed. Great job!
I don't know the tax structure there, but the lady has no chance with the county because they want higher value on this property in order to reassess for more tax revenue from it.

Georgetown County would LOVE that extra revenue!

Wow you do such a good job mulching and then editing the video that’s a lot you have on your plate. 💕in Ohio
Man, I really enjoy the time lapse parts of your videos. It is mesmerizing. Keep up the good work buddy.you seem like a fine young man.👍
Love, love this!! You are right about people moving anywhere, they get the home in the country, but they want to deny others that dream and joy!
Looks really nice Devin
Don’t blame the person for being upset, where I’m at it was a nice small area but over the last 5 or so years so many farms and other areas gone just huge houses, condos and it’s like cmon
You couldn’t have said it any better.👍
Beautiful job Devin.
Your work with Spitfire has reduced the wild fire load by 95%. It makes forest cleaner & will grow back to do again....
Wow just 50 to 100 feet away You lose service. That has got to be frustrating.
If they didnt want it developed they shouldve bought the lot then..
Hi Davin & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Davin & Friends Randy
should have bought up the lots. then build in the middle of them.
Pretty naive thinking. Most areas zoned for development insist that every lot have a house built on the lots in question.
👏👏👏 Excellent job❤
Coupla questions. In what ways is this TM Cancela superior to the one you already have? Or is it? And, did Chris @ LetsDig18 consult with you before he bought one for himself?

Another great job. Like the in cab views.
Glad you enjoyed it

Good job and video Brother
When you come across Kudzu they say it is edible.
Yeah you definitely don't have anything to do with it. Davin You are just the low man on the Pole.
Am pretty sure that it's coming close for you to Hit those Lots in Town again.
Nice Vid!
Great job 😊😊😊😊
Id rather mulch in the rain
Yeah that would definitely keep the Dust down.
When do all this under brushing work are you concerned about damaging the roots of trees your saving
Nosy people are losers that need to get a life, or rent one for the weekend. For us they had one, they wouldn’t need to create problems that never needed to exist in the first place!
"What's good for the goose is not good for the gander."
@@billjones3720 Exactly!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's River Cane
what is your favorite mulching head now?
I’m getting a whole new setup in a couple months
Running 114hp and 40 gpm
Overall, TMC Cancela for skid steers.
people in our area log out an area build homes then they say don't cut the trees.
Trying to be first
