That's awesome Mike! The field modes definitely go deeper than the park, but i found I was digging a lot of crap I wouldn't normally pick up in park mode. Thanks for the info!
@@GeorgiaGold yeah, park mode definitely eliminates a lot of trash but up here in NH the old coins are usually 8”+ so I usually run Field 2, recovery speed 3 at 25 sensitivity! It gets a little chattery but you get some really deep really cool old coins!
Isn’t the field mode for deeper targets? I thought that was the reason among others that there are park and field modes. Park assumes targets are not as deep. I might be wrong but thought that this test showed exactly that basically.
My understand of the park mode versus field is that park is for higher trash areas and field gives you a wider range of targets. The user manual doesn't specify the settings for each mode, but I did find that somewhere once and I recall there being very few and minor differences in the settings between the two. But, if what you are saying is correct, then I have to agree, that data from the tests correlates well.
FYI guys.. You can change your tones from 50 to 5 in any mode except gold. Nice test, had no idea field went deeper on coins. I enjoyed the findings here. I hunt usually on beaches so just trying to learn the land modes. Nice compare here.
The Minelab Equinox clearly beats the GTI on discrimination. Depth wise with similar size coils, in my opinion the two machines are neck and neck. However, the Equnox always has more consistent target ID numbers and Mike can find similar targets easier.
I have just purchased an Equinox 800 after using a Minelab Explorer 11 for 20 years and I swear my old Explorer went slightly deeper than the Equinox. 🤔. The reason I purchased the Equinox is because it is a lot lighter and also getting in amongst iron is much better than the old Explorer. 😊.
I always use the field modes. Nice video!! Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
One of the best videos about the equinox yet
Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful.
I could be wrong here, however, it is my understanding that when you change modes, it's customary to do a noise cancel and ground balance.
Field mode 2 and recovery speed of 1 I’m picking up large cents and silvers at 10-12 inches with the 11” coil!

Thanks for the info on the tones and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
Its good review for 15 inch coil. So for field 1 or 2 it is possible to detect gold as well?
Good question. I have yet to find any gold in the field, I'll have to test it and get back to you.
Hello hunter. Beautiful video's
Glad you like them!
tim how does the 2500 compare to the nox in disc. how deep does the 2500 do in coins mode

well dang my old soverign gt is just as deep maybe deeper, I defiinley trust the gt's discrimination more...was expecting more with that big coil
