Always loved the difference in meaning between the different versions of the songs. The english version of 1648 focuses more on the brave defence by the citizens of Prague and the swedish version focuses more on the atrocities the swedish soldiers were responsible for.

One of the Swedish commanders, Carl Gustaf Wrangel, was one of the greediest and most ruthless of the war. His men loaded 70 wagons with jewels, gold and other valuables from the Wallenstein Garden, Prague Castle and other important buildings in Prague. For example, they brought with them the priceless Silver Bible and the Devil's Bible, which were brought home to Sweden and can still be viewed today at the Royal Library in Stockholm.
The release of these lyric videos for older songs made me realize how much I was missing out on the earlier albums. Thanks Sabaton for expanding my horizons even further with this amazing band

Any way we can get a direct translation? Some lines seem vastly different from the English version. I looooove the Swedish versions, such a nice language to my ear. Keep on rocking and never stop being awesome
It is basically two different songs, with the only similarities being the name of the song, the time and roughly the location (the Swedish version is mainly but also a bit broader than just the city).
In short, the English version is focused on the defenders and their bravery, the Swedish version however is about murder, rape and attrocities comitted by the Swedes.
So they are slightly different from each other.
