Have you ever thought about doing a song about Leif Eriksson? He was a viking who was believed to be the first European to discover the new world almost 500 years before Columbus birth.
Can't understand Swedish, but Lion From the North is amazing, and the vibes from this, this is going in the Sabaton Playlist immediately. Rock on guys! And thanks for all the hard work!

To be honest every Carolus Rex song in Swedish is worthy to be a war chant or national song. Sabaton were digging deep into every Swede's and historic nerd's heart with this album.
It really is extraordinary how different the story is in both languages. The Swedish version is so much more emotional. The English version is a fantastic history of Gustavus Adolphus. But the Swedish version is the heart of the Lion. The blood that is spilled for a couple of centuries to be on top of the rest of the world. It's heartbreaking really. Tack mina killar. 🤘🏻
Have you listens to The HU? They are literally a Mongolian metal band that combines Mongolian throat singing with metal music and traditional Mongolian instruments like the mouth harp, horsehead fiddle, and other is instruments. @@kvjbreaker7054 Last time I listened to them they lacked the "Metal" part and were more akin to a heavy folk or something. Maybe it's time to revisit.
The thing is, they do such a phenomenal job with both versions. You can really tell with Livgardet/The Royal Guard, for example. I have listened to both versions, many, many, times, and I still couldn't say which one is my favorite. They understand how to bring a song from one language to another, which is not an easy feat at all, since you have a set melody and rhythm, a sort of given "length" of how much you can fit in each line for it to be able to be sung in place, and if you want to properly maintain the original meaning, while doing that, and ideally ALSO stick to the rhyming way of the original song (since most songs do have that), it's incredibly difficult. I have attempted it a few times (with Japanese and Russians songs; intented to bring them into German, which is my native language. English versions of each song already existed, helping me out), and even though I spent quite a bit of time on those, I was only somewhat happy with one of the end results (which was Anarchya-Mama, or, "Mother Anarchy loves her sons"). So, either way, I got sidetracked a bit. Sabaton's ability to make these songs work so perfectly in two different languages is absolutely increbible. It is a very hard task; much more than a simple translation, and I think it's safe to say it's almost like making two working songs from scratch. I love and respect it so much.
Unfortunately many people do not like to listen to music which they can't understand which in turn narrows the audience by a fair bit. For many bands it is not possible to reach an international audience without making music in English.
@@kentagent6343 Yes, I understand that this is the case. But what I'm also observing is the growing appreciation of the native languages among metal bands, so it looks like the trend is changing. I love Vintersorg and Saurom for staying true to Swedish and Spanish lyrics for many years.

The interesting part, for those who don't know, is that the Swedish version isn't just "the same music in another language". It's actually a different point of view of the same event.
Gustav is the greatest king Sweden has ever had. He was a very well educated man and could speak fluently at least 7 different languages. He and his closest man, Axel Oxenstierna, modernized Sweden's Riksdag and developed the country on many fronts. At this time, Sweden also had many skilled generals and field marshals. Carl Gustaf Wrangel had become outrageously rich from the raids in the German-Roman Empire and built one of the world's most lavish baroque castles that can still be visited today. Skokloster Castle. At the top of the castle, you can visit the world's largest collection of weapons from the Baroque era.

King go forth, beast or man
Beeaast or man
