Here’s my 2022 FX350 review ua-cam.com/video/R49PW5hEcbY/v-deo.html
I have a 300rr that I love and just rode the 200 for the first time last week. I can see it’s virtues and why someone would be attracted to it. Buying a new bike I might go for the 200. It was really fun, and that’s what it’s suppose to be about.
Beta is the new Sheriff In town.
hahahah best comment 2020
I had a 300rr Race for 2 years then got the 200rr and I just LOVE the 200. It’s so flickable and fun
Wow really eh, interesting. I can imagine why you changed but what was the deciding factor on your end?
WADZ UP I’m short so the height of the 200 was much better and the 200 is much more nimble for tight single track. I have no problem. Keeping up with the 300’s or 350’s
@@MichaelSSweigart thanks!
@@MichaelSSweigart Yet it has a terrible turning circle, its fine in really tight stuff where power dont matter, if thats all you do, but i found it wanting once i went out in open woods and so on..
@@mixalis6168 what do mean by wanting??
I just got a 2021 Beta 200 RR and I'm in love with riding again. Nothing like the two strokes we used to ride back in the day it pulls hard and winds quickly
Funny how bike guys understand their own innuendo language! I have a 300, and I totally agree that you constantly have throttle control on a light simmer in the back of your mind. I've almost ridden it "UP" a tree a few times. I'm super happy with it with 35 years riding experience, but am super curious if the 200 isn't better suited to strictly trail riding. the 300 is definitely a more "versatile" machine.
Sounds like you can relate to my style of communication and giving you have so much riding experience you know exactly what I’m talking about especially when we’re talking about strictly trail. Having a bike with less power that you can ride more aggressively can be more effective for a lot of riders unless your Graham Jarvis. But surprisingly recently I purchased a 2022 Husqvarna FX 350 and this bike has seriously over delivered and so many categories it never ceases to amaze me. For me it’s a fantastic balance between low RPM idling over obstacles but having enough power on top when you need it for those gnarly hill climbs and the bike is not nervous stays planted which is very important for those sketchy hill climbs and I found that the two-stroke especially the 200cc and the 250cc are a little bit too zippy and sometimes nervous but that’s just my opinion and it really depends on the conditions, style of rider you are, what you prefer and how you like the power to come on Or more importantly how you like to build and generate power for me that is the biggest difference between two strokes four strokes small cc and big bore. If I was on a track I definitely would enjoy, prefer the 2 stroke But finding one bike that does lots of things well it’s always a bit of a compromise depending on what’s most important to you; sometimes you solve one problem and create another.
Definitely go with the 125rr. I did, and I love it.
I'm in favor of the lower cc due to the controllable power. That 200 is very nice! I don't know much about Beta bikes but I'm very impressed. I'm off do some homework on them.
T P :They are as bullet proof as anything out there.
The way you put this video together was fantastic. Disclaimer about your riding skills made me like it right away. Excellent narrating as well
Hey thanks Iron, the key board warriors are hilarious with their backhanded tips so Disclaimers set the stage. I really appreciate the comment, we put a lot of time into a balanced review and boy was it fun. Thanks for watching
@@WADZUP I hear you man, I enjoyed along with ya. Ride on
@@Iron_Thunderstorm Braaaap cheers amigo!!
Great review! I agree with you about the 200. I would rather ask it for the power than ask it to calm down. I've owned many 300's both Beta and KTM/Husky and they are very good bikes, but there is just something special about a 200 if you ride mostly technical terrain. Less is more...sometimes!
Thanks amigo, I still enjoy the big cc bikes on wide open terrain but for a woods bike the 200rr is an amazing tool.
Amazing review , now I want a few!! Keep on testing all these bad boys ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great video and sound ... what are you using ?
@@WADZUP Get yourself a 200rr to compliment your Husky, then you will have a toolbox complete with a sledge hammer and a scalpel!

Great video! I have a 300RE but the 200 is so tempting! Got my wife an Xtrainer. Amazing machines. 👍
I think I would go with the 200. You have amazing trails
I own a 16’ KTM 200 XCW. Coming from a 350 EXCF it’s definitely an upgrade in the weight and flickability platform. I never find myself needing more power in the tight stuff. I would say the 200 is comparable to a 350 and 300 is comparable to a 450 if you were comparing 2T and 4T. Revving the 200 up is a ton of fun, it just feels so much lighter than my friends 300. I would love to try a Beta, as well as seeing the Redbull Enduro Series champs on 200’s or 150’s.
Did you ever end up getting to try the Beta 200? Currently deciding between a 16 exc200 and a 21 beta 200rr at the moment. Big price difference.
I’ve got a 19 200rr and I absolutely love it. I was instantly a faster rider on it vs my WR.
Nice bike and I bet is was night day difference compared the WR. WR is a great dependable bike but the Beta is definitely leveling up your game! P.S lots more Beta videos coming so stay tune. I've been thinking about doing more dirt bike camping videos, lots of subscribers have been asking. Cheers WADZ!
Which WR did you have?
I used to race in enduros back in the 70's and early 80's. I've owned and raced everything from 100's to 400's all 2 cycles. I had my best success and most fun in the 175 class for the same reasons you talked about. I haven't ridden in years but the Beta 200 sounds sweet.
Sounds like you had a great run. I love those classic bikes from the 70's and 80's. You guys were the true moto warriors. You say you haven't riden in years but your still thinking about it. Once its in your blood it really doesn't ever leave eh. Maybe there is a 200RR or some other bike in your future sooner than you think! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed! Peace and be well WADZ
The 200 is king. Love my 2019 Beta 200.
It was not that long ago that we all rode 200’s KDX ,IT , WR. Big heavy blokes too. We all had a ball on them. 300 and 450
Have their place but for fun it’s the little bikes domain. Lots of people used to buy a CR500 because “it’s only $400 more than the 250 with twice
The power” they were up for sale 3 weeks later😂😂. I love riding dirt bikes...not bikes riding me...
That's so so so true., I remember a friend who bought a CR500. Broke his collarbone the second ride out He was a good Rider.. I think if most people were honest with themselves. The bigger cc bikes are more than most people need. Thanks for watching
Raced and rode desert on the CR500 for over a decade. Bike was amazing with a Scotts steering damper, suspension and some fucking common sense.
@@stfuliberal I miss my KX500 every time I ride. Have a KTM 400 XC-W now. But nothing is more fun that picking the front wheel up in 4th and nailing a waterhole why? B/c you can!
The Italian single tracks are trenches that were dug out during WW I. You were riding amongst ghosts of the great war.
After heavy snowfalls in December of 1916, avalanches buried 10,000 Italian and Austrian troops over just two days.
?
From what I understand the 200 is 15% smaller than the 300 and fifteen pounds lighter. Back in the late seventies when I was eighteen I had a Suzuki RM 125 and my friend had the 250. It always felt heavier, which it was by about 17lbs and the power delivery was unwieldy. I was always faster around the local motocross track on the 125. That said, I have a 2023 300 RR and will probably get a new 200RR to balance out the stable. The Yamaha WR450 will probably be put out to pasture when the 200 arrives. Cheers from North Eastern Ontario Canada!
I've only got two rides in on my 2020 Beta 200rr, but I'll in love! I felt more comfortable after an hour than I did on my 2013 KTM 300 XC-W that I've been riding for the last three seasons.
That's great, beta did a really good job on balancing this bike in so many ways.
@@WADZUP so true!
Awesome review. Now I haven't ridden the 300 other than at the demos. I do own a 2019 200rr. I've been beating the crap out of her in the mountains since June on tight single track and rocks like you would ride in any hard enduro event. She takes it all. Anyone that doesn't know me thinks she's a three hundred. They are surprised at where I can get her. I know I have to shift more and I know how to work the clutch to get nothing but traction, but this little girl is so nimble. No regrets on my part for getting a 200 over a 300.
Thanks Mike, great rider 200RR feedback. You like your 200RR so much your still okay to watch reviews. That's committment! Cheers buddy
I'm totally on board with the 200. Harder to recover in that terrain when you give'r a little too much. Probably why I'm only good at crashing. Awesome video!
Well said, I hear ya loud and clear!! Cheers!
My choice since 2018 is the 250RR - great bike - around 200 hours of pure fun.

I’ve owed both the Betas. I enjoyed the 200 more. I still have it...it rips. I’m also I pretty light rider at 150 pounds and that thing pulls me around pretty damn well.

I wanted the 300rr as a first bike but now I’m thinking of getting either the 200rr or the xtrainer
Less is more unless your racing or have mad skills.
Loss like amazing terrain to test drive on! Great tips about the importance of pre-assessing your riding style so you get the best fit for your own experience.
Thanks Tara, I think the 200rr or the Beta Xtrainer would be perfect for you at sandy bluff ranch!
2017 Beta Xtrainer, I love the smaller frame and lower seat height and the power delivery is very smooth and linear and very predictable, and if you want to uncork it add an FMF Beta factory xtrainer pipe, open the airbox, jet, and adjust the power valve and let her rip. Best of both worlds between the 300RR and 200RR IMO, but as we all know one bike can't do it all but the Xtrainer is a very capable/adjustable bike
Grear points! I can't wait to ride the Xtrainer in March. Sweet machine. Thanks for watching my review
if you cant decide the 250R is a delight rode them all three at a demo day. Honestly all three are insane and the 300 is jsut overkill unless you have crazy open spaces to let it stretch its legs. if your riding single track on a weekend once a month the 200rr will take you forever to gro into.
Having ridden KDX200's for quite awhile, I bet I'd love the 200. Man, you guys have some rotten, snotty trails.
I use to own a KDX and love them, this has everything you like and more.
Just about to pick a slightly older 2018 300 rr cant wait coming from a 2009 crf its gonna be a big step up for me who's a complete novice .. the 200s are quite hard to find here in the uk .. love the fact you used these bikes hard and wasnt worried about crashing not many people do realistic reviews like that nowdays
Thanks for visiting my channel especially all the way from the UK. What kind of riding do you do mostly? Have you had a chance to watch my review on the FX350?
@@WADZUP id like to get into hare scrambles but I've had about 10 hours seat time my whole life so I feel a competition is a fair way off .. an at 34 not something I can just drop into! I've watched a few of your videos all great I went for the beta as I'm not really a ktm fan .. over here ktms are normally owned by chavs
Wow those tracks look super fun. I have the 19 300 rr and I love it. I have also had a ride on the 2020 - 200 it was great wicked fun. For the riding in your video I would pick the 200
Good comparison! Recently bought a 2019 250rr from Lang's Offroad. Beauty bike! Haven't had the chance to try a 200 or 300 yet, but I think the 250 if a real good middle ground! ;)
Hey thanks London, I bet the 250 is a great middle ground.
after riding big bikes for 30 years it suddenly occurred to me that 90% of my riding is single track in 1st and 2nd gear. I'm considering the 200RR , light and nimble would be refreshing !!
I’m in the same boat. I was considering the 200RR and even the Ktm 150 at one point but after a full day of recent testing on Husky’s and Ktms on some very challenging BC single track My riding style prefers the 4 stroke with the more linear predictable, manageable power delivery with less of a powerband hit and more lug-ability, torque but light and nimble at the same time. This is purely a to each his own and you can’t go wrong either way
I have a 2013 250 Beta with fresh bottom and tuned CC Sachs forks wuth upgraded shock etc. While the performance of the 2013 250 motor is legendary, and I won a championship racing it, I like the 2019 200 better. Easier to control and dominate rather than being on the edge of dominated. The stock suspension works great and is very balanced. It gives up nothing to my 2013. The power and torque are more than adequate for a 155lb Silver Masters B racer. I got a year out of the top end, just dropped in a new piston, but will do rings at 6 months this year and a piston after the season. I race Midwest harescrambles through the trees so it has all the power I need. I did just add a steering stabilizer and run very light settings and that really helps it track through the rough stuff at pace and rooty corners.
Great info and insights! Race on, sounds like an absolute blast.
Favorite woods bike YZ125 👍 Would love to try the 200RR Next time
I hear ya! YZ is a great bike.
I recently rode a 2017 yz 250, insane power, although I found it difficult to control, the clutch is either on or off, I’m not a fan of the clutch, I’d take a ktm any day, although he yz had great suspicion.
Sick review Wadz. Work should be so rough! Love the rides, they look like they held together well. Looking forward to more bro.
Was a lot of fun testing and they were amazing bikes! Beta is really developing great bikes!
Demo'd both 2020 Beta 200 & 300 RR, and ultimately picked up 2020 Beta 200 RR...Only issue I had was that the 200 RR in single track has a restricted turning radius right out of the box. My local shop modified the Rads & BPD Rad Guards which corrected the problem somewhat, but not completely. Love the bike, but bit dissapointed in tight singletrack with the issue at times.
Nice pick up. Interesting about the steering, I pulled out the steering stops and didn't experience any restricted limitations or concerns and we were in some fairly tight single.
@@WADZUP You would notice when descending steep downhill singletrack. In any event I still love the bike for all the reasons you shared.

Great comment, I thought the 300 riders were going to blast me for the lazy comment but it's still earlier..lol. I've hear the GasGas are super fun bikes. 👍
@@WADZUP on paper the gasgas is about the same weight as my 03 300 but feels so much lighter when your riding it. I think that has alot to do with how the gas tank extends well below the seat all the way back to the airbox on the gasgas. Keeps the weight lower and more centered compared to hanging off the sides up by the radiators on the 300.
@@GasGasRider619 really eh, how much does it weigh?
@@WADZUP GasGas says the 05 ec250 is 255lbs full of gas. Ktm says the 03 300 is 238 dry and with a 2.5 gallon tank that would put it about 258lbs full of gas.

Cheers Chad, its pretty dependable. The key factor is the shape of the sides of your helmet or the chin area and how good of a contact the Pro Shot makes. The velcor is super strong and snaps into place. I personally would run a safety line just incase off the GP but thats just me. If you have a bomber connection or contact then its overkill but lots of helmet have curvy designs which makes the contact NOT 100%. Hope that makes sense. Good review. I'm six foot tall 200 pounds. I haven't ridden for a few years. I ride with a lot of flow. Do you think the 200 would benefit a flow riding style as opposed to a braking hard and accelerating hard style. Thanks!
All day long absolutely. Your biggest obstacle won’t be lack of power or torque it’ll be putting up with your friends and their egos on her 300s
Are you going to be comparing the beta to a KTM 250~300XCW? I’m curious what bikes better, I rode these trails, they are crazy!
Maybe and PNW Enduro may also
How does the 200rr compare to the x-trainer
A 300cc can be a handfull in difficult terrain if you're not physically and mentally fit for it. That said, I would never swap it for a 200. Yes, the 200 is nimble and more playful, but it will not have what it takes in really demanding conditions.
What are the best states to ride in where the real-estate isn't insanely expensive?
Alaska and I love to ride Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona but in Canada it's Bralorne.

Love my WR 450 and my Beta 300rr. The best of both worlds!
250 easy answer!
How does this beta 200 compare to the ktm 150....not like i have ridden anyone of them.
I've heard the 200RR has more punch, torque and feels more complete and balanced but then again that's second hand info. I'm actually looking at testing and comparing, I'll let you know if something developes.
Thx for watching.
rusty watts I have a Husky TE150 and ride it in the same place you see this video. It’s an awesome bike in every way, can’t say enough. You do have to work the clutch however, not a bad thing. I’ve ridden 250/300 and the main difference is weight and torque. Weight=flickability and when you learn how to use the clutch properly, torque isn’t so much a problem.
Thoughts on rider size? Im 260 lbs racing harescrambles
300RR
I'm still waiting to get my hands on another bike. My last one was the 03 yz250. I'm sure I will continue with the 2 smokers but not sure with the choices like the rr, xcw or yzx. I know you're stoked on the rr, but what's your opinion on the RR versus the yzx?
I wonder peoples thoughts now comparing the '23 300rr/ra vs 200rr/ra?
I'm racing 50+A Harescrambles in Minnesota on a '17 150SX and not so sure the 200 torque would be enough benifit over the power of the 150... and the added 20 lbs.
40hp vs said 31 🤔 no sure that's correct
Can you really feel the 5-6kg difference between the two? Seems like very little (5% bike weight +/-)
Absolutely but keep in my some of the nimble lighter feel comes from the centrifical forces of the engine
I’m 6 ft tall 240 lbs...What would you suggest ? 200,250 or 300rr?
There's much more than weight that goes into this. Riding style, riding experience, fitness level, terrain that you plan to ride plus more. That being said all these bikes are incredible and I gravitated towards the 200RR at 195lbs with gear weight. Thanks for watching
Friend had a 2020, bearing issues pissed him off, sold it and bought a KTM
If I wanted 'luggability,' I wouldn't be dirt biking.
Is the frame size on the 200 a little smaller than the 300 or the same?
Smaller but only by a few mm so I didn't notice, it's the weight and smaller cc that makes it feel so flickable and nimble.
WADZ UP Cool. I have an Xtrainer now but I’d like to hop on a 2020 200cc and see what’s up. Should be real fun.
Only beta 200RR 👌🔥
I think you might be surprised how good the Husky FX350 is!
Have you ridden the xtrainer? If so, how does it compare?
I'll be testing it in March asap.
what is everyones onion of this bike for east coast harescramble races? not super tight enduro style but a mix of tight and open flowing woods racing. I am currently racing a yz450f and it is wearing me out.
Same suspenders on both bikes ?
O have 245lbs, beta 200rr os for me?
?
Help! I’m in the market and looking at betas. Been riding 5 years (I’m 52). Been on an 03 YZ250 w all the woods mods, which I do really like. Plus I’m 6’3 215 so got it suspended for me.
So at 215 lbs would the 300 be better me? I also do a little low key mx on open ride days. Not getting rid of the yz by the way.
That's very debatable but my if I was in your shoes I would embrace the 200RR. Im almost 200 lbs and loved how in the sweet spot I felt in the woods and it has lots of torque to pull you up the steeps.
WADZ UP thanks much. Kinda agree, my son’s kdx200 pulls me fine in most cases and it’s 23 years old and heavy. I wonder about the counterbalance thing that u mentioned. The vibration of my yz is one of the reasons I’m looking. But I’m guessing the 200rr is like butter compared to my old beast.
@@docmartin450 i had a KDX and its a great bike and I loved it but the Beta is next t level awesome. Cheers ps vibration is a none issue..seriously!
241 lbs is what the 200 weighs. I love 200's though,Ive had about 4 KTM 200's and liked the older ones better as far as engine. The newer the KTM 200 the more of a screamer they are, less of a torquer.
How is the 200 compared with a TM Racing 144?
I’ve never tried the TM
WADZ UP.... if you were going to buy one bike would you go with the Beta 300rr
Or the FE501 ??
For some tight & technical, some single track, lots of hill climbing, plus some street riding. ?
In this scenario how old am I how good of a shape am I in how good of a rider am I and what type of riding do I gravitate to the most?
WADZ UP 36, pretty good shape, pretty much anything from hard enduro type of riding to dual sport
@@drewoliver3996 well I think you know what I'm going to say already but unless I was carrying luggage and camping and riding the Baja or Oregon I would choose the beta 300rr all day long. The beta is just so well-balanced and fun to ride.
