Just found your channel and am digging it! You think using a yarn indicator would’ve been helpful considering the lower flows? In my experience those bigger airlock types tend to land hard.
@@xaviergonfishin I have one also, I should start making vids. I was just replying to your question you asked to comment what we thought about the narrow lens feature.
what do the eggs look like? there are thousands of these gravel dips in the river i fish, but. most do not have fish on them. do they lay their eggs and just bounce? or do they sit with their eggs? I think people make a bigger deal about these things than they should. Nobody seems to care when the rainbows, or white fish, or any bait fish like Sculpin spawn...just the browns. Granted should go stomping on them, but if the eggs break loose and flow off the nests...it wont matter, you're bound to step on a few. =/
The eggs are usually pretty small and orange or pinkish in color! The gravel dip is a noticeable feature of a redd and they usually occur is pretty shallow water. I agree though there isn’t enough attention put on the other spawning fish, most people really only care about brown trout and I don’t know why. Honestly I prefer all the other species but hey they’re the world’s favorite species. It’s important to note all the species spawning period in my opinion!! But yes eggs will get smashed here and there, a lot of people walk on redds without realizing it which is why it’s important to pay attention to where you wade in the winter months. But there’s always eggs lost, the vast majority never make it. But no, once they spawn they leave the redds so it can make identifying them hard at times. Always just be aware is what I tell people! Thanks for watching and the insightful comment!
13:27 that fish! lol it REALLY wanted that critter on the surface =) did a full on mating blue whale jump!
Haha they were jumping left and right there for a while! Gotta love it when they put on an acrobatic display

Beautiful brown trout! Deckers is a great place to throw some nymphs.

The narrow lens makes the fish look small while you are reeling them in.
I agree, there isn’t really anything better than the GoPro though for filming on the go. Thanks for watching!
