Excellent video sir! I don't think mahogany was available when I got my RA90, but I was aiming for "natural" anyway, so I guess it worked out. You have that Rogue sounding like an absolute GEM! I am really enjoying mine, especially the tone. Methinks I do need to replace the nut as you did. Some people get their noses in the air about the brand on the headstock when honestly the only people who can tell much of, if any, difference in the actual tone are pros themselves. The VAST majority of the time, people in bars or cafes are not gonna know the difference in tone (or brand for that matter) between a Rogue or a Martin. In the adjustable studio environment, the differences in tone probably get even hazier. Your logic about using guitars at this price point for gigs is spot on.
Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, or Jerry Reed would have melted faces with a RA90 (as long as the Rogue didn't spontaneously combust or explode from them playing it!). I am a complete guitar novice, but I think videos like yours are important in order to not have beginners think they are obligated to spend serious coin on their first instrument when so many budget guitars are punching above their weight nowadays.

Thanks for your comment. I ramble a lot as I'm an old guy.. so stay with me for a bit. As you heard in my video, I'm actually a songwriter/composer and a self-administered publisher and I write and record music all time and for a very long time. Instrumentals mainly, but this year I've started playing out in some small venues and singing again and I'm releasing a single this year. I also play 14 instruments acoustic and electric. I've told people for years that you don't need to spend $1000+ on a good instrument like an acoustic guitar. If someone had plenty of money and / or someone is looking for an acoustic guitar as a "heirloom" instrument YES ABSOLUTELY... Buy a Martin Guitar and buy 5 or 10 of them... go for it.... But I can tell you, that used instruments like this RA90 acoustic guitar are great value not just for playing out live, but ALSO for songwriting / recording. Because I know how to setup, upgrade and do minor repairs of all my stringed instruments all of the them that I own do just fine and I've actually gotten direct payouts and also long term streaming mechanical royalties by using those SAME inexpensive instruments in my recording. In the end, "TO ME" it make sense, as I keep more money in my wallet while getting different acoustic guitar body shapes / sizes (that DO sound different) as well as electric guitars that have different pickups and pickup configurations. I'm actually making a HUGE list for some new instruments and gear that I am buying for performing out live as well using on my new single. One more thing to add, if you have time view my "Ukulele Basic Setup and Maintenance" as everything I saying on it also applies to acoustic guitar:

Hey, Thanks for your comment. To let you know, this one that I got here is still doing great. And with the same setup using the Fishman sound hole pickup. I am playing out on small venues with it... Even tonight.
Look on Musician's Friend AND on Amazon. You may find them on Ebay BUT DO NOT buy there as some times those a slight damage, or scratch and dent.. Or bad neck or frets. Also, make sure when you get the guitar to check it all out.. If there any frets that seems very high.. Return it.. Any sort of work will cost you the same amount of money if you take it to any repair places.
Also do not forget to make or buy a sound hole humidifier held in-between the strings and it dangles thru the body of the guitar to hydrate it. It will be dry and it will need moisture. ALSO last thing, always TRY to buy "10 gauge" acoustic guitar strings, less tension on the neck and bridge. I like to buy D'Addario EJ10 80.20 bronze those are great. Thanks again for your comment - MrTom / Mister Tom
