I actually bought the Pred 3500 based on your earlier videos about how you did the snorkel conversion and other mods like the run carb dry shutoff switch. My reasoning to purchase is if someone of your obvious mechanical ability is buying this for his personal use, and is doing a natural gas conversion (which is attractive to me), you must have done substantial research to get you to that purchase. Given the way you present videos, that was definitely enough "cred" for me. I am thankful that you go the extra step to video and post!
On to what prompted today's thank you reply. With fall here in New England, it is always a good idea to get the winter storm gear ready, for me that includes Pred 3500 and my snowblower.
Because I run the Pred dry for off-season storage, put some fresh gas in, went to electric start it...nothing, totally dead. No problem, I'll pull start it (5th pull after sitting for months) run it again to get the battery charged, and call it a pre-winter success. Guess what....battery was dead...dead....dead, nothing.
Came in the house, hopped on the internet, my first Google search...lo and behold, who comes up at the top of the list but Robert, having the same problem that I am. Yep, he made a video about it and provided what his working solution is.
So once again, my Pred 3500 guy has come through! The eBay order for the battery you speced and provided the link to has already been placed. Total elapsed time from the realization that my battery would not take a charge, to putting an eBay order in for replacement...about 15 min!

It's not ebay that is imposing tax, it is your state forcing ebay to charge state tax. That's what happened here in New York- Cant' wait to move out of this awful state! Thanks for the video.

So I see that you went the GEL battery vs standard Lead Acid it comes with. Amy concerns with the lack of ventilation in the battery compartment?

How is that battery holding up? Does it turn over faster with the gel than it did with the standard battery?
Your battery placement is less awkward than my WEN dual fuel 475T which is inconveniently placed behind a wheel, I have to pull a retainer pin on the wheel axle to change battery. I had an Interstate battery years ago that was very reliable and long lasting but went to another brand for price, I've been changing lawnmower batteries semi-annually and wonder if I should try Interstate again to see if they will last longer. Thank you, I ordered the battery through LOWES. The battery fit perfectly. The cost through LOWES was $30.00 + $10.00 hazard handling + $5.00 for shipping. If you want some free entertainment, go to Harbor Freight and ask them for the replacement battery. Then have them try to install it in their display model. I will give them E for effort and the manager an F for telling me just to strap to my generator, it'll work.

Hi Robert. Thanks for the video. I assume the generator should keep the battery sufficiently charged if it’s being operated on a regular basis (taking into account the supplied battery is probably not the greatest to begin with and needs to be replaced).
Hi Jason, I have ran the generator 2 times since the video and it started right up, I don’t have a trickle charger on it, I know some people put changes on them but unless it gives me a reason I won’t,, I think running the generator every 6 months got 1hr is good, make sure you drain the carburetor before storing it, the original battery are very low quality and don’t last, I have more Videos on modifications to this generator including running on natural gas

It does come with bolts and nuts, there’s no clips used, my second battery has failed because I keep forgetting to run or change it,you need to change it at least every 6 months, I installed a battery tender
so it’s always charged
Ours had a battery., just no clips and screws…was not connected.
When people build these into their rv’s I don’t know why they just don’t wire it up to the rv batteries and skip this battery
Do you think a battery disconnect switch would work to keep the battery up for this generator?
The generator doesn’t drain the battery when it’s not in use, it’s only for the starter motor. The stock battery is not of good quality.
Does this generator need a battery to operate correctly, or can you just remove it and use the pull starter?

Hi Robert how you been I’ve talk with you before my battery went dead also mine still under warranty also but my hr meter went back to zero now I don’t now the full hrs on this generator did this happen to you as well

SMH.....haven't seen a car out there that weighs less than 500 pounds??...
These batteries are crap within a year. After a charge even the load of 12v bulb will drag it down to 4v not to mention starter
