- Playing with super strong neodymium magnets, they have so many uses! Lots of cool magnet hacks. My personal favourite is a homopolar motor, but other things I show in this video are: Playing with magnets, Hanging things, putting a mac to sleep, playing darts, finding wall studs, magnetising a screwdriver, floating things (levitation) and making jewellery.

For everyone that's worried about my 128mb usb stick, watch this ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html. You'll feel a lot more relaxed.
+iBuyNewStuff I wanna comment about your USB and found your comment about your USB... hehehe
beat you :P
iBuyNewStuff can you please send some magnets to me please
idiot dont put USB on magnet the information on it may be damaged
+Giorgi Nachkebia lol, youre right XD EVEN WORST COZ THE MAGNET IS NEODYMIUM XD
No. Don't stick your flash drives to magnets. Ever XD
+Evan Coffey yeah, the magnets can rip the software from the hardware. Don't risk it.
What about the mac
+Evan Coffey NAND flash isnt affected by magnets, magnetic disk drives are
+Hate me Faggot No they don't, the point of my comment was to point out that NAND flash (the type of memory used in all flash drives) is unaffected by magnets and therefore there really is no inherent danger in sticking your thumb drive to a magnet like Evan Coffey seems to believe.
However I am sure Mr. Coffey believes you should never put a flash drive on a magnet because mechanical drives that use spinning platters that have data magnetically written onto them ARE affected by magnets and he simply confused the two types of data storage.
+Zach M even though the components themselves on the flash drive are not endangered by the magnet it is still possible to overwrite data due to induced currents by the change of the magnetic field

"Play with them"
Yes.
use science nd make with them something
It's a joke.
Almost any laptop can be put to sleep(or anything you want) with a magnet. It just tells the laptop that the lid is closed.
Correct!
+Harry Tsang and also broke it (if misplaced)
Athaariq Ardiansyah Despite the only magnetic moving part of most computer, the hard drive, A computer is unbreakable via a magnet(in common cases). It may interference the display, but it won't kill the display.
It can damage data or physically destroy the magnetic drive, but if you use an SSD, a magnet won't "kill" your computer at any point of view.
+Harry Tsang except moving your magnets causing induced currents if it passes through a random solenoid (mostly transformers)
+Harry Tsang how?
There's been a huge surge of traffic to this video lately, thanks for watching!
+iBuyNewStuff I dont think it's a good idea to put a flash drive on a magnet, magnets usually tend to ruin anything electronic. might wipe it.
+MiningNinjaOctopus Electronics usually don't care about magnetic fields. You should be careful about hard drives (non SSD-drives that is) since those use magnetism to store data on spinning disks as well as floppy disks (who uses those nowdays?)
Flash-drives don't have anything sensitive to magnets.
CoderCandy ok, I just remember breaking one of my flip phones with a magnet and was slightly worried XD
+MiningNinjaOctopus I literally made a video about this yesterday. Have a look ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
iBuyNewStuff oh cool
i like the "hang stuff" hack, but i couldn't find and affordable magnet that would hold my weight.
Hahaha nice one ;)
jason todd
Seriously, they exist tho
Why didn't you hang your SSD/HDD with important files?
+Terence Person because, that would hurt it ;)
+iBuyNewStuff no?
+Zyneed yes?
Irredge no?
+Terence Person yes he can broke it
Guys, if you make jewelry out of magnets, you will become very attractive.
PUN CITAAAAA! nice joke hope it was original
Yu Hung Goh I get it! Magnets attract things.
it could make your repulsive
george macias Well, thats true too :(
My favourite comment ever.
Would putting the usb on erase it's memory
+pgmanning1 Nope. ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
+pgmanning1 I say it does it wiped my memory stick
yup
+Thelightdesigner Creations You only have to use a capital in the beginning of the sentence, should of listened in school.
yeah it would
That one magnet did not want people to subscribe. maybe it felt abused..
*Someone walks on your room and sees you rubbing the magnet against the wall*
"I'm looking for wall studs.."
Cool, I had never thought of the tie trick, I'll definitely remember to use that one.
So many dislikes, it wasn't even that bad of a video. I actually enjoyed it. Some people these days, so picky.
You can also turn any regular TV into HD TV by running a magnet across the screen.
It works! I tried with my PC Monitor and now it has 4k resolution!! THX EVERYONE TRY THIS AT HOME A COOL DIY HACK
I was going to buy a new TV and I discovered this out, no need of a new one. Thanks for your advice!
+COton Channel didnt it scramble the screen?
Jazmie Hamizan
It produced a reaction which created dense pixels which results in HD.
EKDante n
i suddently feel a magnetic attraction towards clicking the like, share and subscribe buttons...
It's a smart idea ;)
NEVER Hang a usb stick out of a magnet, specially of these strong ones, if you do this over a lenghty period of time you WILL lose data and never be able to retrieve it again. Apart from that, great video!
+Guido Freire USB sticks will not be affected by magnets in that way, they don't store data with magnets like spinning hard drives do, so the magnet will NOT affect the data.
+Newjorciks NFC USB's will "attach" to the magnetic field of the magnet, and when you take it out, the data will become unretrievable (Some companies CAN retrieve this data, but expect to pay a few thousand dollars)
Guido Freire Unless the data is stored magnetically or you move the flash drive to the magnet and away hyper fast a lot of times nothing will happen.
Hit *1 MILLION* views. 😁 Thanks all. (P.s still so much controversy about that USB hang 😂)
:3
🙃
U get screwdrivers that r already magnetic
+ewan palmer They have to be magnetised. Not all screwdrivers come pre-magnetised.
Even the fridge says don't subscribe.
I think the subscribe note fell because it did not want us to subscribe
As a voice of reason, I find it absolutely hilarious that so many people are freaking out about the USB! Heads up, if you have a computer/drive that has moving parts, then yes, keep it as far from magnets as possible. But if it is a Solid State Drive/USB aka 'anything that isn't really old,' then magnets are free soil.
I personally liked number 9 the most, super useful life hack to deal with Macs xD
IDK what was on that flashdrive, but its gone now!
+kellen liame Maybe... ;) ua-cam.com/video/MCsI4RcFNdI/v-deo.html
+iBuyNewStuff well I'll be damned!
+kellen liame Usb drives are not affected by small non moving magnetic fields, they are solid state memory, but hey don't take my word for it, google it.
lol
+kellen liame I think I linked the wrong video.. ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
Top 10 uses?...if you've never seen magnets before. I wish I could do a negative view
Same
Same, like of course magnets attract each other, there magnets.
+William King they're*
Vxyd Games
#grammarnazi #ocd
+emma kai (cravingpho) actually, it's exactly just "top 10 uses", not like "top 10 uses YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT"
I liked the ideas in this video especially darts and the floating stuff
Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive see something like this before. So nice to search out someone with some authentic thoughts on this subject. realy thanks for beginning this up. this youtube video is one thing that is needed on the net, somebody with a little originality. useful job for bringing one thing new to the youtube!
I don't recommend playing with these magnets too rough, they are brittle and break easily, especially with larger ones and non-spherical shapes.
Yeahh i feel sorry for those magnets but they will take revenge on this guy's fingers one day.
i agree, im used to handling these as well, and have had my fair share of pinches and breakages, and i hate to see someone showing off an irresponsible way to use them.
I like the tie one
+poptartheroes I can't find it.
+GD Dyno (Ludwig Van Beethoven) its on 6:22
Thanks. I didn't know i could hang stuff with magnets.
The falling stuff made my day, I lost it @ 1:44 xD. Magnets are a lot of fun indeed~
does it only work for macs or can I use a big tasty
This is so funny... Not at all
jk it is fukin hilarious
That has always been the OS logo though :/
i ate 36 neo magnets.. now my insides feel bad..
Are you numb?
comfortably
+greenrolaids Hello? Is there anybody in there?
Rip. Thanks for the view. You'll be missed. 😭
Can we dissect U yet? I wanna c what clustered organs look like
Omg i want the tiny magnetic balls cuz they look like they can do some cool stuff!
playing with magnets is sucha life hack
Please tell me that jewelry one was a joke..
Most of them were jokes...
+A Blender Inc. Brand Blender (Smeckles) RIP blender
pendrive on a magnet... genius..
+Rommel educate yourself brah ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
k.
At 5:30 I did the same thing by accident.
I was playing with hematite buckyballs and my laptop was on my lap XD. I dropped em' and my computer turned off and I was like "Oh crap did it break my computer." :P
That was funny as👍 . good work! 👍.
Who else noticed the illuminati when he was done playing darts at 3:45
3:47
eat them
OMG i didn't know we could hang stuff and play with magnets! Wow!
The tie one was really neat 👍🏻👍🏻
+jason martinez Thanks, I've used it myself a few times.
Kill dat Mac! XD
+Crusade DAL macattack
hah! XD
I dont think it will kill it, There must be a magnet in the screen so it turns off when it's shut
Tales
On the hang stuff those little tiny cubes are buckycubes. You can get them at vat19.com
Same with the darts.
Robloxyman 1928 Am I the only one that read vat19.com with its jingle?
Bros of Gaming nope
Robloxyman 1928 tavi coborau pisici
so cool I love this thing
When he was doing " hang stuff" and he figured out how to hang "subscribe" I knew hell do 👍🏻
+Unbreakable Can Thanks unbreakable can
0:50 9/11
😩 kek
But the plane hit the upper part of the tower. Nice try at being edgy though
ησнαт SHUT UP MY LOGIC IS ALWAYS CORRECT
Correction: find screws in the wall. Screws will be in the studs, but the wood is not attracting the magnet. Now, if you find a screw you can assume there's a stud running up and down straight from the floor to the ceiling. Obviously don't drill or nail right where the magnet sticks otherwise you'll hit a nail or screw (likely a drywall screw).
Source: have worked with stick framing before
I use mine to hold chest towels and back towels for hygiene. While traveling, I sweat a lot (tropical country issues, I know it sucks) and I use towels to keep me and my shirt dry.
My towels don't fall off while I chase public transportation! Sweet!
Thanks that was interestingly good !!!!!!!!
Came for floating plate magnet. Stayed for kindergarten lessons for magnets
I really want to get all those magnets ! =)
The video was actually pretty great. Better than most stuff nowadays, at least.
Hi love the video really gave me some great ideas to use with the neodymium magnets!!! Thanks!!!
where do you get the small cube ones cause I checked the link and that one's bigger than I would prefer, was hoping to find small cheap ones that would work with the "float things " maybe with a paper clip attached to string
You don't want to use a magnet to hang a flashdrive, or any electronic guys. The magnetics will destroy the software. If the product says magnet safe, then feel free to risk it. Otherwise, you'll probably lose all of the data on your device.
Excellent ideas
lmao when he keeps dropping the subscribe paper
Awesome you have just earned a new sub. Btw love the thumbs up you make Hehe 😜
Lol the cute funny thing with subscribe magnet made me subscribe :)
this is life super soft baby steps version of howtobasic and
I aint complaining this is actually amusing
this video was funny to watch and me learn a thing or two so it's definitely worth watching ^_^
Congrats. You just erased that USB
+AuraMaster :) ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
Cool ideas!
pretty cool!
THESE ARE CREATIVE :O the wall stud CHALLENGE EXCEPTED :3
No.2 was truly captivating
Really cool
That's sick
the power of magnetism is absolutely outstanding
+Elijah Lockwood Isn't it just?!
The trick with floating stuff was epic
I don't know a lot about scientific technology nor magnetic technology but the first one the video showed us with the spinning thing. I wonder if you make a bigger version of that and could it produce energy? I may sound dumb. But it looked like it was doing something.
I love the darts idea! Why did I not think of that though?... :/
3:00 Somebody's a powerlifter. Dang son... lol
Autofocus for the win! :D
WOW, WHAT A HACK?! I HAD NO IDEA YOU COULD PLAY WITH MAGNETS!!!!
Super cool
This is so cool
Cool 👍 you rock 😎
The jump cuts in this video are hilarious.
+Brenduck What part in particular did you enjoy, the hanging? :)
The hanging was definitely my favorite part, perfectly timed.
XD the cube magnet was like : oh its raining magnetic balls oh shit
That motor was cool! I'm going to try that since I already have a good collection of neodymium magnets and copper wire. You can also make a ribbon microphone using the long bar magnets, but it's complicated in a way and requires you buy a transformer. But it's cool, I've made several and they sound great. And just a warning to everyone: these magnets are really fragile and if they aren't put together gently, they can shatter. I know, I've accidentally ruined plenty.
Also, something really weird I accidentally discovered about these magnets is if you get one really close to a solder gun which is plugged in, the magnet will vibrate freakishly! This will also happen if the magnets get near a transformer plugged into the wall. It's really strange. Hold the magnet loosely in your hand but hold it so it can't jump out of your hand. Have fun!
+Josh Zook I wonder why that is? Must be pulsating currents in the solder gun that generates a field, who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
thats so cool
#2. WOW I haven't thought of that :O
the magnet didt want me to subscribe 😂😂
failed to pretend its a screwdriver, but thats a nice dragon for sure
the balls is like the magnetic putty.
Just really really thick
awsome
dude
hi, this is really cool!
Putting a flash drive on magnets😹😹😹 hahahahaha
Good idea man😎
for the screwdriver one some screwdriver already have a small magnet in side but that one it still pretty good
instructions unclear, got new metal claws implanted with magnets.
Thats cool
*ATTENTION*: USING A MAGNET ON A USB DRIVE WILL NOT ERASE MEMORY, ALSO THE MAGNETS WILL NOT RESET YOU MAC, IT WILL *ONLY* PUT IT TO SLEEP. SAME WAY AS WHEN YOU'D CLOSE THE LID.
Correct, adamation :)
I actually made a video about this topic, it's a common myth. Check it out. A USB will not be corrupted from magnets.
ua-cam.com/video/o6k4bIuDbn4/v-deo.html
It’s flash memory but still fun.
Great video
It should be noted that these little ball magnets can be lethal if ingested. Small magnets have no place in a home with small children. Two or more balls in different areas of the digestive tract can become attracted to each other and eventually cause perforation of the intestine which is often lethal because it causes massive infection of the intestinal cavity.
Its funny how the subscribe didnt stick but still put it in.😂😂😂
You are Makeing Nice Videos
amazing editing
Damn, this was such a good video
Awesomeness
