I love my RAM mount, particularly the X-Grip. Holds my Phone or GPS or video cam. I went on a dirt/gravel road for 20 miles. I never worried about losing my phone.
Another informative v'log Mr Calm, i may have to purchase 1 of these to use between my cycle, bike, car & truck as i seem to break the plastic sucker mounted windscreen 1's & ironically did it again tonight : ( lol
+Dracati Ducati I know what you mean. I've been using one in a case and it seems to work well. The case is very cheap and wipes clean so not too much of a problem, as long as it doesn't fall out! All the best for 2016 DD!
Just be careful if for whatever reason you have a phone with the book stile case don't ride with it in the closed position, I did once and the force of the air blew the cover open which acted like a leaver pulling the phone out. Luckily I managed to push it back in before it flipped out, stopped to flip the case open. Another good idea is to tether your phone to the mount. I've heard they make good tripods for people who want to do a new intro on top of hills in Wales.
Been looking at the x grip for holding my phone on the bike and possibly use it as a sat-nav not too sure how good Google maps will work on my trip to France later this year, just trying to save a bit of money rather than purchasing a Zumo or Rider
+Peter Andrews There are a couple of free apps for the phone that work quite well. You definitely need offline maps around here because the Internet connection over 3G/4G is very sketchy.
+wyvernbiker If you are using a car satnav, one of these is better, just need to make a hole for the power lead. Also doubles as a satnav case when not in use. My one has been great in all weathers. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/151635977581?adgroupid=13585920426&hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=pla-131843282946&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&poi=&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&ff19=0&googleloc=1006867&device=c&chn=ps&campaignid=207297426&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13=80
+clanmac66 I use one similar to that and it works fine for the satnav but the one I have will fit my s3 phone but you cant get power to it and zip it up fully.
I've always worried about what would happen to a mounted phone if I ever binned the bike. If it's in your pocket and you're able to get your phone you can call for help, whereas if it's pinged off or broken, you'd be a bit screwed....
+Lurch OnABike True. I was wondering about the batteries I keep in my pocket the other day after watching a video of a lithium ion battery getting pierced.
My brother has a set of those on his bike and he has said that the phone is in there solid. He's never had any issues with it. Nice video man.
+SoopaBee It definitely holds the phone well. Not sure if it would handle a bump but for normal riding it's really good.

+gloverintl I've used it quite a few times now and it certainly seems solid enough.
I've got one of those clamp type for my iPhone and it works great. Nice video
+Lorddarthvader1701 Thanks!

+sharky09000 Ouch! I don't think these things are likely to break. Certainly not the arm anyway.
Happy New Year CB !!!
Always like your Review vid & been looking for this one...just still nit sure about exposing the phone to y riding, lol !!!

+Gazzatron Thanks for the tips!
I've heard that too :-D
I use an interphone smartphone holder for mine. The case is a bit flimsy but the bracket is pretty durable, but they are a bit expensive to buy.
+EinkOLED They all seem a bit pricey. I went with this for the flexibility really. Hoping to mount a satnav / camera to it too.
Just what I want, it's just the price that's put me off, I've seen them before on Shadetree Surgeon's Rocket lll, good fit bud RSM8.
+Skeggy Cruiser The price put me off for a long time but I've gone through a few cheap ones with no joy at all.
+CalmBiker A very Valid point buddy, I think I'm on my 3rd.

your torque wrench work well mate
+Tosh twentythree (tosh 23) Ha ha ha! I learned from the master!
Do you think it would work just as good for a sat nav?

+wyvernbiker I've been thinking about buying a proper bike satnav. The ones I've been looking at are RAM compatible.
+clanmac66 I use one similar to that and it works fine for the satnav but the one I have will fit my s3 phone but you cant get power to it and zip it up fully.
Karl the Dingbat Just make a hole at the bottom of the case (so water can't get in) and feed the power cord in. Works for my TOMTOM.

Tail pack time! Have to say I keep mine in my pocket...
Any waterproof variants?
+Jack Bradfield There are quite a few Ram-compatible things about. I still need to test my cheapo £5 one.
pity there's no integrated power supply.
+terry boardman Yep. I need to sort out a cig lighter/USB port on the bike.
