Top Ten Weirdest Yu-Gi-Oh Food Monsters
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 сер 2024
- Of all the wacky designs Yugioh likes to try out for monsters, food tends to be one of their big go-to choices. Food is either made ferocious or funny, so we want to go over the weirdest and most interesting food cards that have graced the game of Yugioh. It’s mostly based on how funny they look, but game mechanics could play a role if applicable. Maybe you’ll even find the perfect monster to add to your Master Duel or real-life deck here. NegetiveX and Judgment Meter join me for this one.

I also like how every suship is a different type of warship.
Makes you want to see the rest if the fleet.
I really want to see Suship develop a bit more! The concept so far is pretty cool, but they need more support imo
I want more suship cards so bad! I know on the trap card, one of the things says Natto.. so Suship Natto needs to happen! Also some spells and traps that relate to sushi like Soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi, Etc.
I love how bizarre and off the wall Yu-gi-Oh! Gets with their designs. The number one truly surprised me. As for personal favorite, I always figured Hungry Burguer's Japan flag atop the bun was a very angry eye until further inspection.
Yeah. That is because child meals in Japan come with those flags, as far as I know.
But the weird thing is that Naturia Cherry has a waifu face... Why?
@@SergioLeonardoCornejo Ohhhh thats neat! Makes sense too.
As for Cherry's face, I dunno. Naturia's are composed of land animals and food with weird hybrids. Its all around a very bizarre archetype, cute, but very weird.
@@TheXBladeist yeah but... Those eyes. That's the face of an anime girl... And s very pretty face for a creature that is all head.
Maybe it's a flag AND an eye.
12:21 "you say toe-may-toe, I say toe-mah-toe.... eh whatever"
LOLLmfao now I'm hungry for salad
Loved doing this one! Find me the person that doesn't like Jerry Beans Man. You can't! It's impossible to dislike him.
Maybe the guy from that one Episode in GX who wanted to kill him?
I kind of don't like his design. Or bean soldier's...
I only dislike him being in defense mode. Which is never
I would never try to offend him. His power however should not be understimated. PS: Did someone finally get you some foods or is this already the Ghost Girl Of Starved Judgment speaking to us ? :0
Please be DMG for ur next video. I miss that.
The 2 stars on Bistro Butcher are probably Michelin Stars. They go up to 3 stars, and even having just 1 is an honor.
Ah, I've learned today. Looks like we should give that Butcher more credit.
He has 2 stars and has no shame whatsoever, good for him.
It’s never about the ratings or reviews, it’s about the food.
And Vengeance!
I like to think he has a 4 star rating and the lighting hides the other 2 stars like with Gunkan Suship Shari.
@@LegitMan335 They already told you having one is an honour. Having two would be an achievement of a lifetime by itself. Food judges dont give Michelin stars as with hotels when they just give a single 1-5 qualification and thats it. They give the stars one by one through many years and many many restaurants will close without even having just one of them. A lot of them wouldn't even be candidates to judge them. Thats how difficult is to get one. I bet theres a high chance theres not even a one star Michelin restaurant in your hometown. Much less one with two.
@@Shugunou 4 Michelin stars ratings dont exist dude. Learn to read. The maximum qualification is 3
You may know this already, but due to Master duel, we now know that the naturia archetype is in the same universe as the shaddoll and Qli archetypes. So not the best world to live in, where you could become a puppet of the shaddoll construct possibly against your will.
It's a cool story! I touched on it a bit in my third Yugioh backstory video when I was going over the Winda/Shaddoll story, mostly involving their tree and Naturia Leodrake on the Naturia topic
Actually all yugioh cards lives more or less in the same universe
The lore for that universe encompasses a crapton of archetypes. I think it had something to do with a pachinko game (IRL, not in universe.) The yugioh wiki has a full loredump about it, I think it was called Duel Terminal or something.
EDIT: Okay, so Duel Terminals are IRL arcade machines in Japan that allow you to scan real cards into them to be used in a simplified version of the game. The lore for the card archetypes originally comes pretty much exclusively from them from what I've read. Everything in the Master Duel story mode is repackaged for a more worldwide audience since the Duel Terminal cabinets are a Japan only kind of thing.
EDIT x2: Apparently the Duel Terminal machines were also released in the States and Mexico. No idea if everything in Master Duel's lore comes from Duel terminal, or if there's some new stuff in there based on the more recent Archetypes.
On a real note, whoever designed the Suships art put a lot of love into the designs. Its something I could do a solid 20 minute conversation about. It's so brilliant in so many ways. For one, the overall concept is based off of "Sushi Boats" which are platters offering a large sampling of maki, nigiri, and sashimi.
The base "Shari" is based off the nigiri balls that you use for a base for all "Sushi" which literally refers to nigiri, not necessarily maki or sashimi. When you prepare a Sushi platter you tend to prep your nigiri balls first before you do anything with your other ingredients, which is reflected well with the order in how things are normal and special summoned.
And then the Ice Fish, Uni, and Ikura special summons reflect favorite nigiri delicacies that are treasured alone, but usually used along with more extravagant ingredients when used for omakase.
Ikura always tends to be the main focus in any presentation it has, with minor additions and flair to complement it, which is why the Ikura warship only has some lemongrass, basic herbs, and cucumber while the ship itself is the the star, and a little wasabi on top which is traditional. It also has white pickled ginger.
Uni on the otherhand is one of the craziest parties of flavors you will ever eat in your life and omakase chefs LOVE to pair it with various other foods especially shiso leaf, yuzu (both the fruit and the zest), wasabi, konbu, and more and that is represented on this ship as well. This one however has pink pickled ginger, which I find funny since it tends to be lower quality, than white pickled ginger but adds color to a plate instead.
Ice Fish is unique in that its moreso notable for its texture rather than its flavor which is mild, subtle, with a little bittersweetness to it. This one surprised me because its served with what appears to be a dandelion as well as yamaimo or "slimy mountain potato", or perhaps its freshly wasabi as opposed to the green horseradish wasabi on the other cards. Both of these would be a strange choice to pair with Shirauo as if you used Yamaimo its also a very mildly flavored bittersweet food with a texture and flavor comparable to... something I won't mention in your comment section, but I feel it would possibly create too much sliminess and with the wasabi, it'd be very powerful in flavor relative to the subtleness of the rice and shirauo.
Another thing from the design perspective is all the detailing on the ships is done using strips of nori with the rice acting as a backdrop creating that beautiful two tone look. So so so incredible.
Either way, I adore this theming and I want more.
Wish the Sushi Angels got similar thought and exposure.
Fun fact: prior to Suships, there were exactly two FIRE aqua-type monsters in Yu-gi-oh; Fire Kraken from Magic/Spell Ruler (2002), and Chemicritter Carbo Crab from Invasion: Vengeance (2016). 77.78% of an entire attribute-type combo comes from a single archetype :)
Yeah, I noticed the odd combo of type to Attribute.
Kinda weird, yet neat to see. Wonder how thrown off someone would be if they tried summoning one of the Suships while they’re using a Water deck and their opponent’s all like:
“Why isn’t my anti-water strat working on them?!”
“They ain’t water type.”
“*incoherent screeching*”
There are zero FIRE Fish monsters, or at least there weren't any three years ago. Haven't checked recently.
My former writing partner used to use Jerry Beans Man and Bean Soldier in a goofs and giggles deck she made. Bean Soldier was a harder card to get because of its short printing but she HAD to have him . -- A.T.
Negative X knows nothing, maple frosting doughnuts are the best kind of frosted doughnuts!
Hungry Burger is one of my first Ritual Monsters. I always equip him with Fusion sword murasame blade, because he’s a warrior type
There is actually a Hungry Burger OTK in one of the video games
Or you can equip him with the ritual weapon equip spell card lol
Cuz sometimes you like to cut your burger in half 🍔 🔪
Like some people do , even at Fudd Ruckers
The funniest part about Doom Donuts is that it destroys itself with its effect, since when you flip the monster, it is face up, and it has 0 in attack and defense. At least they could’ve given it 1 in each so it wouldn’t destroy itself. Plus then it’d be the only card in the game with a 1/1 stat line
I approve the inclusion of Groucho Marx, Jerry Beans Man and Suships.
Groucho Marx is my favorite Yugioh monster
6:51
His name is still technically the same in Japanese as in Japanese
Rs make an L and Ls make a R sound
25:00
Flan........ Did you just call that FLAN !?
That's wrong my friend, it's Japanese Custard Pudding
I have a weird love for Jerry Beans Man. I don't know why, he's just friendly and I like him.
Same here.
I seriously hoping that the next Yu-Gi-Oh countdown will be the Top 10 Monsters with the Weirdest Yu-Gi-Oh Typing.
And I'm hoping that Number 1 will be a three-way tie between Oppressed People, People Running About, and United Resistance.
Agreed. Like dark crusader
According to the GBA games, the reason Mystic Tomato has a face is because it's inhabited by the spirit of someone who died by choking on a tomato.
That's the classic morbid Yugioh we've come to know and love. I remember them giving similar lore to the ritual monsters that didn't have lore, too.
@@MrTopTenList which game says that?
@@parkerf.4710 It's from The Sacred Cards and Reshef of Destruction. Some effect monsters are vanillas in those games so they come with flavor text. Fun fact to add to this, Mystic Tomato's text mentions that the death by choking was actually murder.
Having those Fluffals in the intro is perfect.
That was silly and serious put together.
"Stuffed Animal" is a really old card that fits their aesthetic but also has the adorkable vibes of other oldies like the Hungry Burger, Mystic Tomato, Weather Report, and Dorover.
Love me some Fluffals and Frightmares! I could never play them since they're a bit to bricky/OTK-y for me, but I always love to see them get some representations. Maybe if we ever do a list on the cutest archetypes, I'll finally get to talk about them
Maybe Jerry's shield dissolves instantly
It’s a shield, that you can eat .
Hallohallo is friendshaped. I love him.
The way you read the Sushi Monsters lore reminds me how I read modern Yugioh card effects. They are too long which is why I can't get back into the game. It would be fine if a few had such effects, but per duel my opponents use at least 10 cards with novel sized effects. So instead of enjoying the game, I fall asleep.
A shame no Rush Duel cards where on the list, but there were an overwhelming amount of monsters to choose from, so I don't blame you. I would eat Honey Haniwaffle from that anime.
The Madolche line gives me some serious Sanrio vibes.
Inmato is not phasing through the cell bars. It’s an artistic choice to not cover their face.
I am proud of you for making Suships as number 1.
Cimoooooooo: THEY'RE SHIPS, MADE OUT OF SUSHI! THEY'RE SUSHIPS!!
The details of their mechanics are why I love when Yugioh does goofy ideas for modern cards. They are viable, even if they're not going to be fully meta, and you can have little sushi guys floating around the field. It's perfect!
i like to imagine that the corn ship amd suships get into naval battles regularly, shooting corn and rice to each other
Corn Gunken Sushi is a real thing. So maybe they can merge and be Gunken Suship Corn!?
"Who wants to eat a tiramisu that this queen has been sitting on all day?"
*sweating profusely*
I didn't realize Blackship of Corn was corn until you pointed it out!
This List surely does make me very Hungry.
Same lol
I didn't even know that there were Naturia main deck monsters. I've played this game since it came out. What the hell?
It's kinda sad how bad their main deck monsters are. They feel more limited than most older archetypes. Though, a few of the main deck monsters could be used generic plant or insect decks with their swarming or effect prevention effects, along with some of them being tuners.
Yo MrTopTen and guests, I think we need another weird Yugioh Card Names episode. When you find that 'Curse of Dragon The Cursed Dragon' is a thing it makes wonder what else is out there.
I LOVE the Suship cards and really hope they make more! I know on the trap card one of them reads Natto, so a Gunken Shuship Natto would be amazing! ❤🍣
They're so new, I'm sure they have more planned for the future! When we started thinking about this list last year, they weren't even in the TCG yet, so they're slowly making their way to shore.
Well keep in mind Cherry Inmato can summon "inmato" monsters, meaning more copies of itself as well if you wish
Still waiting for a Fast Food themed Archetype centered around ritual monsters with Hungry Burger and other food as the ritual while the employees of the restaurant are the Non-Ritual monsters, the field spell would be the restaurant, the traps would be tasks associated with this kind of restaurante, the ritual spell cooking and the regular spells just things inconvenience of this kind of job.
I'd like to see that as much as a Pendulum deck based on soccer/football...
@@chrispambo1539 Considering the Pendulum Mechanic, I think Tennis could work too, so far the only sport themed archetype is U.A. and there's still some sports that need to be featured.
For a fast food themed archetype, you'd want to have menu staples such as chicken strips, onion rings, milkshakes, and you cannot forget about the french fries as well. One of the spell or trap cards could be a drive thru as well
Hungry Burger always has a special place in my heart.
That was the first Ritual monster I ever got. It took me forever to get the spell.
Same with Performance of Sword ^^
Because burgers and Belly Dancers go great together ^^
When you say that Yugioh REALLY love tomatoes, you weren’t kidding. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Jerry having 0 defense for a monster with a shield. Maybe his belief in being the strongest warrior made him complacent in using it. Thanks you and your co hosts for another fun Yugioh top ten, MrTopTenList!
And thank you for the comment! Jerry Beans Man fights with a sword and a dream!
@@MrTopTenList If you thought it was weird that Jerry Beans Man has zero defense despite having a shield, you should see Armored Zombie, which also has no defense, in spite of the fact that it's name would suggest otherwise
I love how shari ends with a four star review cause it's a four star monster. amazing, best card
Top 10 weirdest evolution forms in Yu-Gi-Oh
For example: Blue Eyes became Shining Dragon, Vampire Lord to Genesis, other monsters into something strange.
None of the examples were weird though.
@@sarthakarora3212 Sorry I didn't think before put the comment, I mean some monsters' different forms.
The fact that Suships are all fire aqua is really unique. Fire and fish, sea serpent, or aqua is rare, like water pyro.
Love the commentary and an intresting list didnt realize there was that many food monsters
We though we'd get to just 10, but once it got to a point where I actually had to cut a few, I was like "does this need a part 2?"
I never realized blackship of corn was actually corn until now either lmao
Hungry Burger is my anime deck mascot, always and forever.
I fell in love with it from the moment I first saw it.
From the fact that it's Ritual is just the recipe for it, to the fact that it's a Warrior for who knows what reason, to the fact that you can actually use the Equip Spell "Ritual Weapon" on it and turn it into a 3500 ATK beatstick.
I'm usually the typical Blue-Eyes, Dragon-type player, but I am on a never-ending quest to have the best Hungry Burger Deck.
25:32 if you look carefully the puppy is a plush toy you can see the seams running up it’s legs and tail
Is Jerry Beans Man still the strongest level 3 normal monster at 1750 ATK points ? Or has another level 3 normal surpassed that yet ?
I'm surprised you didn't mention the weirdness of the lore description of the normal suship being a restaurant review. I thought they'd never make weirder normal monster text than the brooklyn accent ones but I guess I was wrong
24:30 you just know that is someone’s kink. Gotta be.
Naturia eggplant looks sick! It's like a cool wasp guy!
"I dunno who that person is, the greeter?" That's Madolche Chouxvalier off of his mount. He will shank you with his candy cane sabre.
Sorry to say, though, that I don't think you can eat anything from the Madolche cards, as they're magical dolls. Notice the sewing seams as well as the card Madolche Nights.
Mr.toptenlist great yugioh foodball ⛹
I still want a hungry burger archetype.
One reason for mystic tomato being the dark recruiter could be because tomatoes are in the same evolutionary branch as deadly nightshade and thus were at one point considered to be poisonous.
The International Mystic Tomato looks way more like the Killer Tomato logo than the Japanese one...
Just gets weirder the more you dig into it
Paradise Tart: this is so up my ally 030 🍔
My new favorite YGO-list on this channel, this just had to come!!! But how the hell could you be so cruel to not feed Judgment Meter before doing this? This poor magician Girl would have just needed a Hungry Burger or something.
I dropped her off at the Naturia Forest after we recorded, so she should be all set now
@@MrTopTenList Hope she did not get caught eating those. I once attacked some Naturia Beans to consume them and became an Inmato for 6 months...
I didn't know the suships existed till this video and now that I know... I just feel stupidly happy with this knowledge
Glad I could introduce people to the glory of the suships!
I cannot stay there are several of these I actually would eat if I was in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh where the monsters resign instead of them being cards but I would feel guilty about eating the Madolche monster's platforms. The Madolche monsters are cute and I don't wanna mess with them too much. But I would not eat the sushi ships cuz I don't like rice
“Who wants to eat a tiramisu this queen has been sitting on all day?”
Do you really need to ask
No, 2 Stars is accually really good if you're going off Michelin stars! 3 is the Gold Standard but even getting 1 is incredibly hard
Anyone can cook!
Even Bistro Butcher !
self cannibalizing donuts
Whenever I see Jerry Beans Man I say his name like Powdered Toast Man 😂
6:42 My favorite thing about this guy is his name is written the way it would be pronounced in "engrish"
Also, I really want him to be an archetype. The flavor text says his true strength is still untested, so it's kinda asking for it.
Bistro butcher could accually work as support for a deck that kills your enemy's deck... although I guessnthe combo I've seen the other day of inferno tempest plus necroface makes that relatively useless lol
Also the mild turkey and ghost beef remind me of a chowder themed episode. primarily the flurkey episode where chowder and the gang face off against a ghost turkey.
MrTopTenList, let me stop you and this video right there. Bistro Butcher is NOT obsolete and works with my Trickstar Lycoris Bistro Butcher Burn Turbo Deck.
Back when I played Duel Links I'd use Papa Corn in my Aroma deck. Worked out pretty well.
Love me some Papa Corn tech!
Just a quick thing you forgot to mention, in the Gunkan trap card it shows the "Price" of the Gunkan XYZ, but the price is just equal to the Gunkan XYZ defense. This also is shown in the Sushipyard where if a Gunkan XYZ monster is destroyed by the opponent, they have to "pay" the cost which is equal to the destroyed monsters def
The madolche aren't actually edible they're all dolls desert themed dolls the artwork of madolche nights explains it
Video about food cards from yugioh makes a reference to Jackie Chan adventures cartoon.
Never thought I'd see the day. But I LOVE IT!!!
One more thing!
"WE'RE COMIN' DOWN HAAAAAAARD!" is the funniest Yugioh related gag I've heard all month, lol. Now that's all I can imagine Sylvan Peaskeeper saying.
If you ever revisit this topic, you now will have to talk about Nouvelles in relation to Hungry Burger.
I miss when Judgment meter was the only co host 😭😭
I'm glad you like the antics of Judgment Meter! NegetiveX actually cohosted in videos before Judgment Meter, so both cohosts in this video are my original cohosts who've been with the channel since 2013. The algorithm just tends to share the Judgment Meter solo cohost videos over NegetiveX's solo cohost videos.
Hungry hamburger strikes me more of a plant monster because there's lettuce and tomato also the bun is maid of wheat
Suship will always be #1 in my heart...
Hai!🗾🗻🏯🗼⛩🎋🎍🎎🎏🎐👘🏮🎌🍱🍘🍙🍚🍣🍤🍥🍡
I really like the anime only food monsters
"Who would want to eat a tiramisu that this queen has been sitting on all day?" Oh, you sweet summer child.
And now Hungry Burger has his own deck.
Top Ten Ranma epsidoes with judgement Metter
yay he talked about Suship
One of my favorite modern archetypes!
Darn good timing, catching me just as I'm craving a snack at midnight.
Suships mm mm
Suships are too big for a snack, but regular sushi will do the trick!
Remember that silly duel where you had to eat a tomato for each attack? Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhh...
I love Black Ship Of Corn because it's original name is literally just Black Corn. It's a reference to the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Carribean but a corny joke and it's amazing.
yes black corn exists, my aztec people were slaughtered for it and blue corn
Thanks for the Uncle reference. Best show ever!
I would love the curry man guy from that episode of GX be made into a real archetype. It would have searchers for the text that would say monsters that have “man” in its name that are also plant type monsters. And I think that narrows it down significantly because there are a lot of monsters with the word man in their title
24:29 trust me there's people into that
I rlly like the japanese mystic tomato design
I’m so happy you mentioned the Gunkan is my favorite food architectype
Every time I like your videos, you're the best 😍❤️
Thank you!
Hallohallo is the cutest card I've ever seen.
I didn't know sushi battleships existed before and now I want to play them

hey man I thought you should know the last few pinball convention videos, the Butlers video and Electiry themed fighting games didnt appear in my notifications at all.
Thanks for letting me know. I may need to start advertising when a video is up on my Community Tab and suggesting people check my channel manually since the notifications are inconsistent. Good timing! Just avoid eating the Hungry Burger
I love jerry beans man!
Can you and Software Agents do podcasts like you did with judgement Meter
I haven't received a notification from you in my feed since January even though you've since made 4 videos...

I do upload every other week usually, so check back then and you'll likely see, or follow me on Twitter or our subreddit since I link them there too, but I wish there was an easier solution
UFO Turtle has another explanation. Its a kaiju reference, specifically to Gamera.
I thought the rice ships were fanmade joke cards! And here i was thinking the the madolches were the most ridiculous archetype.
