This was so fun to do! Summoner of Illusions summons Magician's Red and Gem-Turtle is Polnareff! We had enough JoJos references in this video to satisfy me.
I'm always impressed by how thoroughly you edit our rambling discussions. Great job once again! Also when recording this I didn't realize every Pot of The Forbidden effect was a forbidden card, seems obvious now.
Thank you! When we recorded initially, we erroneously referred to that "shuffle from the hand back into the deck" effect as a "Delinquent Duo or Confiscation" style effect not even thinking of Forceful Sentry. Funny how of the banned hand destruction spells, Forceful Sentry comes up less than the other 2
I actually recall Kaiba playing Des Feral Imp in Battle City, but called it Dark Gremlin instead. Then went back to calling it Des Feral Imp in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie.
Thank you! I don't talk about my editing process much, but the hardest part are always the still images as opposed to when I use footage surprisingly, so it's always cool to see a fellow editor appreciate the small things. As much as we love the Judgment Meter edits and other quick image edits, they are definitely a time-consuming labor of love. We've done a few videos where I don't do them for Judgment Meter and there's always a few comments disappointed they're not there, so I'm glad that the final product is appreciated regardless.
Stern Mystic is great. You get to look at your opponent's back row , see it's a red reboot , 2 solem judgment, and 2 infinite impermanence, so you can scoop early and go to game 2.
Stern Magician: *flip summoned, walks up to your opponents side of the field , looks down at the set cards* hmmmmm *takes his stick, flips up the card peaking at them* mmhmm, mmhmm. Hmmmm. *puts them back down and walks back to your side* mhmmm. *adjusts his glasses*
17:07 If you summon DPE with his effect it was not properly summon so he cant revive itself but only other destiny heroes, btw summoning Diva is actually something some Prediction princess players do in Duel Links.
They cut Big Eye out of the cardpool for Yu-Gi-Oh 2006. Supposedly, it was difficult to implement a program similar to the older one they used in previous games for his effect. Yes, Big Eye's effect required its own unique code in Stairway to the Destined Duel.
10:05 is my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh screenshot ever. It just exemplifies how it feels when a deck you spent a lot of time building keeps losing to funky disco ball and Venus Flytrap. Great video! Also, Baby Tiragon is precious and should be protected at all costs.
What do you guys think they will do to honor kazuki Takahashi. I think it will be a good artwork video to show off his custom artwork on many monsters like dark magican, flame swordsman, and gakutami magami
I like how you say "they" since guests in this channel feel more like regular residents What a nice thought, MrTopTenList shall never feel alone with his friends by his side
One weird gimmick strat I remember trying out with Chewbone was a mill deck with Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower. It wasn't a very good strategy, frankly it's really bad, but it was my young brain doing more than just "unga-bunga, beatdown deck".
I think Big Eye's name is just one of the bad jokes the American part of Konami used to make before. Like putting the descriptions of some very basic monsters with misspellings, the Crab Turtle joke that I explained in the rituals video (That one comes directly from Japan, it is not from the American branch) or changing the name of one of the most influential and powerful monsters in anime to Sliffer the executive director. Basically Big Eye sounds identical to Big Guy... And Big Eye is a... big guy... I'm not even forcing the joke, I bet that's the truth but I cringe even explaining it xd
damn it, I was happy about a new video to relax and Judgement Meter needed to remind me about Physics Exams existing because I have a written test about two of them next week: - Solids - Thermodynamics & electrostatics
Feral Imp is a fiend but Des Feral Imp is a reptile. I don't know why they made him an evolution card but he is supposed to be good for GX era reptile decks. GX Era reptile decks, especially those running the Venom bosses focus on getting lots of reptiles in the grave fast but also have card that are useless there. Des Feral Imp can retrieve important spells/traps like "Rise of the Snake Diety", "Offerings to the Snake Diety", Damage=Reptile", "Snake Rain", etc. It can also recyle the Diety of Poisonous snakes who is mostly dead to you one it is stuck in the graveyard. This is the same with other reptile effoct monsters that could be useful for their one time effects. For a deck that tries to mill out as many reptiles as possible, and had a slow buildup to its boss monsters, this card also helped slow your opponent for the ultimate payoff while helping to keep cards in your deck so you don't deck out before you could win. The Venom bosses were awesome when they could be effecticly used but were hard to get out like this and required attacking past defence. It was very possibly to stock up your grave and get them ready to end your opponent but then draw out before they landed the final blow. Des Feral Imp could prevent your opponent from killing your LP before the bosses were out AND add an extra turn to the duel so you had a better chance of getting past their stalls in time. Once the XYZ card, "King of the Feral Imps" came out, this clearly became a good target as a material for it as well. Stall your opponents attack for a turn, return a good spell or trap to your deck, them exceed for something bugger that can also search out a reptile while detaching one to the grave for the ultimate set up. By no means is this deck a competitive one or is this card amazing but in the context of this type of reptile deck, it is a lot more justified. Again, I don't know why it is a linked to Feral Imp when it is clearly unique reptile support and its own evolution clearly solidifies this..in fact..it is called King of the Feral Imps but has neither those nor des feral Imp in the artwork..instead we have these chibi/mogwai versions of it..it makes some sense to des feral Imp since he is clearly based off of the Gremlin form of the mogwai but again..why Feral Imp? Because Gremlins are Imps they went a completly different direction with what kind to play on its recognizability? Regardless, the thing to remember is that Des Feral Imp has nothing to do with Feral Imp or its teeming and all to do with being a specific type of reptile support.
About Reaper of the Card: Add 30% to their stats and you usually get something pretty close to what they should've been. Yami in the Anime did that, but not in the Manga. So the stats got lowered so their Anime cards were equally as strong as their manga parts. 1380 attack *1.3 = 1794 ~ 1800 attack. 1930*1.3 = 2509 ~ 2500. Manga version has 1800 attack and 2000 defense (No idea why the anime version got 500 extra defense, but probably because it was played in attack and didn't matter) The other cards: Barox 1530 defense : 1989 defense aka 2000. -> 1800/2000 Anime, 1800/2200 in the Manga CoDI: 930-> 1209 aka 1200, so 1200/2500. Has these stats in the Sacred Cards and Reshef games, where it also gains 30% bonus again. Probably the most broken card since its effect is also op. Manga has 1200/2500 King of Yamimakai: 2000/1530 -> 2600 1989 -> 2600/2000. Manga has 2600/2300.
I love these videos because of how nostalgic it is. I don't play yugioh since the era of 5DS (and I can't keep up with the new rules anymore) but seeing these old cards brings good memories. I used to obsess over card trivia back then and I'm glad video series exists now
I like to use Pot of the Forbidden with the Prediction Princess ritual monster to make my oppents rage as I replaced the rest of the prediction archtype with Shaddoll/ Subterror and honestly it works shockingly well as I had a 70% win rate normally hitting 8 Win streak before I would run into Exodia and FTK burn decks.
A way around Immortal of thunder's effect is to flip him then use him for an XYZ since being detached from one doesn't count as going from the field to the grave
I still remember years ago having a deck where Invader of the Throne was one of the major cards I used. The entire purpose of the deck was to steal my opponent's stuff, it was part of a trio of troll decks that was made to enter local tournament (teams of three face each other instead of one person dueling to best of three). It actually did a good job on Dueling Network as well, pissed quite a number of people off. Good times. Sadly, the game has gotten way to fast for the deck to even look like it was workable (and, ultimately, made me give up on the game entirely).
Top Ten Countries by where they rank on the Human Development Index. and none of these PC wussy ass ties or" honorable mentions', do a CLEAN Top Ten List... a pure top ten list.
Okay but hear me out: You could Creature Swap a set Immortal of Thunder and then attack into it with Nurse Reficule to create Yugioh's least viable one-turn kill
26:55 They changed the rules of trap holes when monarchs were meta so now they don't count as having hit the field before the trap holes activate, meaning their effects can't activate (though in this case it's because the card specifies it has to be on the field to activate in the first place). I don't know what the current ruling is on flip effects though. Also bottomless removes from play so he wouldn't hit the graveyard anyway.
Big Eye: all right let see *picks up top 5 cards from deck looks at them* hmmmm okay *rearranges the card* this goes there. And that goes their, Done *puts the card back on top* you are set ^~^ *grabs some eye drop and pours it on his eyes*
Loved the video as always! However, I’m not sure that Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer can summon itself back when brought out with Summoner of Illusions because it wasn’t properly Fusion Summoned.
23:14 How? If a monster with infinity attack attacked, it'd create a mathematical paradox because infinity includes every _negative_ number so it's impossible to calculate. Infinity is a concept, not a number to begin with. The infinite hotel paradox is a flawed premise because "quantifiable infinity" is an oxymoron. Unless you buy into the pseudo-intellectual nonsense involving ordinal numbers anyway.
Would Immortal of Thunder trigger Barrel Behind the Door? Way back in the old days, I had fun with a janky Barrel deck. I lost most games, but won a few here and there.
Correction: If you summon DPE with Summoner of Illusion, you cannot summon him back when it's destroyed by either SoI's effect or his own effect because you don't summon DPE properly. Monster in the extra deck need to be summoned properly first before you can revive them from graveyard or banish zone. Also I've tried in Duel Links that you need to flip Immortal of Thunder first before the "you lose 5000 LP" effect can be activate. So, if it's get destroyed face-down or face-up your life point doesn't decreased.
A fun thing to keep in mind regarding tokens summoned by you on your opponent’s side of the field is that they will come to your side of the field if you use owner’s seal. So there are potential ways to take advantage of them, assuming you go through hoops and loops to get them to your side of the field. Of course, taking in consideration how long would it take to set up Chewbone, I do not think it is the best target for that stuff.
Most of the backgrounds were just other Yugioh cards that I mirrored to create a 1920 x 1080 image. I actually just use imovie for my editing, so nothing too fancy.
Fun fact if you get DPE off Summoner of illusions it can't revive itself since it was never fusion summoned. DPE could still revive a different destiny hero if you had one though.
I'm sure you've heard about it by now but we now have a Flip Ritual Monster, tentatively named "Nether Prediction Princess Tarotreith" -- so part 3 when? :P
Another layer to Immortal of Thunder's weirdness, at least to me, is how they implemented him in Duelist of the Roses. They forego the whole Flip effect and Life Point idea, and instead make it weaken all female Monsters by 500 points while it's face-up in Defense mode. An effect like this isn't all that new, as there are several cards that weaken or strengthen a certain type or attribute of Monster in the same way. I just don't understand why they made Immortal of Thunder the one who hates female Monsters.
I’ve never heard of immortal of thunder b4 but I’m already coming up with a deck that can use him to FTK. Yugioh is so much fun when shit like this is possible. The immortal FTK. Now I’m off to deckbuilding. 😁
We need a Protector of the Throne retrain to make Mr. Top Ten happy... Terrorking Salmon got a retrain so there's not reason why she couldn't get one alongside other monsters that deserve a retrain... Like Twin Long Rods #1
There actually was a card in old yugioh that could do that disruption trick with Invader of the Throne called Desert Sunlight. Didn't think of trying this particular play at the time, but I did like running a couple of those instead of books of taiyou to have a flipping tool that could also potentially waste a nobleman of crossout or an attempted flip theft via mind control / creature swap.
Immortal of thunder was meant to be creature swapped after flip summoning. Then you just crash into it. 5000+ damage in one shot. An interesting combo indeed for a stall / burn deck.
This was so fun to do! Summoner of Illusions summons Magician's Red and Gem-Turtle is Polnareff! We had enough JoJos references in this video to satisfy me.
Summoner of illusions, then
interdimensional matter transporter, or dimensionhole the monster summoned, to allow it to stay on the field
I just started JoJo last month and I'm half way through part 3 so it's cool I'll finally understand all the JoJo references in the world

I like Big Eye and Des Feral Imp. I use them in my stall mill deck.
I love Big Eye too
It's crazy that there's two monsters both named Big Eye the flip effect monster and the XYZ number monster

Correction: If you summon DPE with Summoner of Illusion, you cannot summon him back when it's destroyed by either SoI's effect or his own effect because you don't summon DPE properly. Monster in the extra deck need to be summoned properly first before you can revive them from graveyard or banish zone.

Raigeki is unlimited?!
Now it is!
Immortal of thunder was meant to be creature swapped after flip summoning. Then you just crash into it. 5000+ damage in one shot. An interesting combo indeed for a stall / burn deck.
New MTTL!!!!
Immortal of Thunder has the look of "no thoughts, head empty"
