The Batman talk left me absolutely fucking triggered oh my god lol. It was definitely too long but I’ll be damned if it wasnt a great film. And that car chase was incredibly well done, idk why they thought it was generic. To each their own I guess but my god when Sips and Pyrion were talking about each Batman movie being the same story and same villains rehashed over and over I could have jumped through the fucking screen.
Funny thing is Lewis was the only one who had seen the movie and he went to the bathroom during the car chase, so none of them actually had any idea what the scene was like xD
About being invisible as a superpower - there's actually a much better way to achieve this: Being able to turn into a ghost and back into a human! As you know, ghosts can: Become invisible, even with clothes on. Fly. And go through walls! AND they can do all 3 of those things at the same time! Therefore, my argument is that being able to turn into a ghost is the most convenient superpower.

P-flax not fully understanding the Brandon Sanderson Kickstarter, though I blame Lewis for not correcting his understanding :p he didn't raise 25 million dollars to write a book, he's selling 4 books in a package and you choose the delivery method. Kickstarter might feel like a weird platform to do it on, but he's effectively just sold 25 million dollars worth of books. It's not like he's raising money to write them or to publish them. The point is, he needs to sell a certain number of them before it's cost effective to self publish, so that's why it was done on Kickstarter. You could get angry that a writer earns $25 million by selling books, but that's not what made P-flax angry. Just him misunderstanding the situation. Disclaimer: I didn't kickstart the books, I'll probably wait until they're available at the library.
@@knitterknerd Who, P-flax? I wasn't advocating that he should read Brandon Sanderson's new kickstarted books, just pushing back against his disproportional response to the news that they're pulling in so much money.

Yeah. You would think that Pyrion would be in favor of this, since it skips the middle man publishing companies who are the greedy corporate types that he rags on constantly.

I've installed a plugin to allow going past 2x speed. Most stuff I only go to 2.2 due to my triple click mouse button putting me there but for something that I don't care too much about to be hyper focused but still want to watch i'll go up to 4x before words make no sense.
Another amazing podcast! Love the dad chat. I always send these ones to my best guy friend because he has 3 girls (1 set of twins) who listen about as well as a wooden plank.
Gotta be honest board games to lockpicking lawyer to an invisible man and how bad/ good that superpower would be, is quite simply the strangest interlinking of topics I've heard during a podcast. Well done.
I think part of nirvana's legacy is that they were commercialised so heavily and still are to this day. Theres the meme of someone wearing a nirvana shirt but not being able to name 3 nirvana songs. Similarly, i have a joy division shirt, but couldnt name a single member song or band member, but because of this commercialisation, people will still listen to the music and the band. Theyre immortalised.
For people wondering about the lock picking lawyer. It's not just a hobby, he is a professional and lock picking is part of his job. He works in an industry to help companies increase security by bypassing security measures and providing input to increase their security.
He's a professional lawyer separately from his youtube channel and lockpicking tools business. I don't think he actually specified what area of law he practiced, except that it wasn't associated with crimes like lock picking and petty theft.
Damn im sooo with sips about food. If there was a legit proper soylent or something, even if it wasnt very tasty, id chug on that 3 times a day and be happier for it
Pyrion showing his ignorance yet again. Starts going on about the Batman story complaining that we know it already which is exactly why Matt Reeves jumped ahead two years in the film so we didn't have to see it again. As well as ragging on the car chase which has been lauded and even compared to the one in the French Connection that he admits to being good. Then calls Brad Pitt a shit actor despite him having proven a long time ago that he's more than just his looks and is a very capable character actor. Getting bored of Pyrion's 'I'm always right' attitude.
Agree 100 %, but that's why this podcast is good. Three very similar yet very different men, that are "old friends" talking about various, sometimes very niche subject. That is the exact reason I listen to this podcast.
Geez. This is one of the episodes where Pyrion gives a take that makes you realize how miserable and pessimistic his life, attitudes, and outlook really is. One of those "I'm a pessimist under the guise of a realist" sort of guys. I really dont think that world view helps improve much. Need some hope and optimism in there too every once in a while.

Maybe it’s more of a European thing that women aren’t hobbyists. Here in Arizona I know many women that are passionate hobbyists. Whether they garden, paint, practice a trade, make music, etc. not a guy thing in my opinion.
