we're here for you P Flax!! sparing this moment listening to you talking about your m. health - you did well to talk about it, men's health being stigmatised often and all that! stay strong out theree glad you have support of these two.
The best things that stopped my panic attacks were, practicing mindfulness (practiced focusing on the little things in the real world, instead of being in my head all the time), started to express my emotions in a healthy way. I used to supress my feelings and pretend I was okay, which often caused me to have full blown panic attacks. I would also recommend going outside and doing some sort of physical activity.
Best of luck with the panic attacks Flax! Glad you sought out help for it. Didn't know that GPs prescribed antidepressants as well, thought you had to see a psychiatrist for that. Good to know
Flax.... Flying Buffalo Inc, late '70s/early '80s, "Starweb" play-by-mail.... I played that a few years. Thanks for triggering those awesome memories; checking the mailbox every day, looking at the printouts, sending my next turn back (with the $)... beautiful times. I probably found out about FBI in an Omni advert.
For us Gen Xers raised on Avalon Hill, Freedom in the Galaxy WAS a medium complexity game. Pyrion mentioned Campaign for North Africa and I think he has mentioned Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) before THOSE were high complexity. VASSAL has a really good PBEM system for games with possible interaction. Player 1 creates a file of their moves and sends it to Player 2. 2 then steps through the file one move at a time. If 2 wants to take an action and interrupt the turn they “break” the file and add their action and send it back to 1. This works well for ASL where defensive fire can interrupt a move.
I suffer from panic disorder, have been on sertraline for about 3 months now after decades of panic attacks, i know calling an ambulence because of all consuming dread well. It has been very helpful, I have had the one, but I felt more in control quicker and generally feel less bad. No noteable side effects, slightly blunted mood mood maybe, and you can get these brain zaps. They're scary and uncomfortable, but harmless and if you stay the course don't happen too much. Hope it works for you, I'd give sertraline a 9/10.
did you know some old pc strategy games came with an option to let you mail a floppydisk with your moves to another player and then they would load their moves and mail it back
16:40 What the fuck??? Sips knows about Legend of the Red Dragon?? Holy shit I thought that was just a very niche BBS game even back then! My mind is blown and I got a jumpscare from hearing him mention it. That game had so much fucked up stuff in it, looking back. LOL in the wild west early days of the internet.
I know you guys know each other, it would be unfair for me to have any opinions about how your relationship works with each other, I’d just hope you’d get some more sympathy when you shared you experience that you had recently, Flax.
I refused medication for my panic attacks and know exactly what Py flax is talking about. I got over my panic attack frenzies that kept me away until i pass out from exhaustion bed time tea indian one and going out to parks etc. It was awful, i still get it now but i can control it and ignore it. I tried setraline 😂 for me it just made me careless. But one thing you should know about it.. it will almost stop from reaching an orgasm 😂😂😂😂😂
Not Lewis saying that countering spells is an obscure effect or printed on obscure cards in magic. Someone like RTGame needs to sit down with Lewis and explain to him why half the rules in magic exists and why people like them.
Hey p flax check you vitamin D levels with your GP. Also try doing some light excercises everyday that should fix your panic attacks I think takings meds it’s just masking the problem and probs has other side effects

There is just something about a grown, grey man, complaining to a tortoise to calm down. ;p
Love these guys
Oof, sertralin. Wasn't for me, made me into a zombie. Glad it's working for you though flax.

Hasbro owns WoTC….
Sips said Spiderman 2 for the Playstation and my thoughts went straight to the original
Elon musk owning Magic the Gathering? God this really is the bad timeline
Zoloft is a bit too much imo. I wish there was something less aggressive.

Who’s Greg Wallace
Bald masterchef host who's a weirdo. They made fun of his strange daily habits years ago.

Or he can just buy the pretty ones and hope he wins on accident. Just saying.

Civ V update crushed the 2k launcher and now no one can play Civ V without being a pc technician. I will not be buying Civ VII until they FIX MY GAME!
