Just letting you know that 7 of my 8 eggs hatched without any problems.. Thank you so much for your advice..
Heck yeah thats great.More than welcome.
Hi man! this video is one of the simple and greatest in UA-cam I could find, very nice job. I just have one question, those plastic containers where you put the eggs are hermetic sealed or have holes so the eggs can breath? Thank you
Im so sorry, this never popped up on my feed. I use press n seal over the top and I poke one pinhole on all four sides. Again very sorry this was missed.
Sounds simple enough. And not costly at all
Works great. Really does.
@@GoingYooper just a question: does putting in bottled water really help raise the humidity? I didn't even know that.
@@john_n_griffin the bottles are to retain heat when you check on the eggs and open the lid.not to add humidity. All the humidity should come from the box you have the eggs in. Here is a link to how I set up my egg boxes .Just one of many ways you can set one up. ua-cam.com/video/zBqfaAlPYaY/v-deo.html
Catching up on a lot of vlogs ... mans that’s so crazy how you are close to your goal so awesome congrats ...
Been really putting in the videos and working on my editing.
I have a glass front shop fridge that i need to convert but i have a girl wanting to go now the rest wont be ready till next year so im gonna do this as a temp incubator and a back up! Thank you for the explanation! easy to follow. Thumbs up.
Sweet idea! I’ll have to keep that in mind for next season when my little ones are ready to go. Keep sharing any little tricks if you don’t mind, it helps us newbies
Awesome.
How does the water bottles give off humidity if they’re Closed?? This looks like a Nice lil Setup thO, Nevertheless 🤷♂️ 👍 Thanks for the Tips
Your egg box should be set up to hold moisture. The water bottle’s are there to help retain heat when opening to check on eggs.
This is so cool! Great for emergencies too! I’m really glad I saw this! I never would have thought of this
Would this method would work for bearded dragon/beginners? a friend a mine has been trying every method but always failed and I wanna try to help my friend for the next egg
Yea it will

MIND BLOWN. Thank you!!!!😘👍
These work perfect for incubation. Started out with one of those several years ago.
They do work well.
Awesome video...i went to tractor supply b4 we built our incubator out of a mini fridge and bought one from there it’s made by lil giant and it’s out of styrofoam. Cost 40$ and would keep temp. So that why we made one..I just recently picked up a bigger fridge that’s got a clear door and a light..it’s going to be our new incubator. Awesome video and in case of emergency that cooler is a great idea..great video Jason.
yeah I use a fridge now.
Short and sweet. Very helpful. I will probably have to use this method when I'm ready. (I've got a while). If u have any other inexpensive trick to help a breeder on a budget, I would love to know. Thanks again, Going Yooper.
Check some of my older videos as well as my Fitz Family Constrictors youtube channel for tips and tricks as well.
This one is a great video to I'll try to put some time aside for us tomorrow to look at the rest have a great night
The Genetic Hunters ty. I have a fridge incubator build as well.
Thats very kool and creative. We're definetly saving this video for wenever we breed one day
Awesome Z&Z.They work great.
Awesome video great info cool diy incubator
Thanks buddy.this will work for geckos as well.
Great video
Thanks Tim.
Great idea for a homemade incubator. Other than a fan, set up exactly like our fridge incubator. Just a more compact version
Good for small breeder or just a back up.Thanks David :)
Great money saving video. Saving this one. Thanks man
Awesome I hope it helps brother.
great information i made one of these before and it worked great .
They do work well.
Nice incubation system keep up the good work and the good videos
Il keep pushing.I think I will need to take a day off soon though.lol
This is great for beginners or as a backup. Thanks
It should help someone in a fix.
Great tip. A backup incubator can save a lot of eggs and help you sleep at night.
Great info Going Yooper! Very basic yet efficient! As you said great info for everyone!
It really is.
Just what i needed,greet upload,hi from Croatia!keep up!
Awesome hope it helps.
Thank u
Very informative and helpful video. Keep up the great work
Thanks and you take care of them amazing babies brother.
Going Yooper I will and thanks. They all shed yesterday, so they will be getting their first meal soon. Wish me luck
Great video! Just the king of thing I'll be needing later on.
Very cool.Im glad this may help you in the future.
Now what about humidity? Does that come from the substrate?
Yes. I use river rocks and water.
Your a legend thank you 🙏
Thats perfect , Thanks for sharing man great stuff
How long did it take for the temp to get up to 90. I just built mine, and I'm testing it out
@@tracyallen5176 shouldn't take to long to get up to temp. Keep it on for a few days to make sure it's holding temps .
Using the heat pad works really good as far as humidity goes? I read that heat mats and tape don’t heat the air very well... I want a backup because my other incubator is not holding humidity very well even though I have the right amount of water.. My eggs are 15 days old and although they still look good and have veins, I am worried about the humidity...
The tub with the eggs is going to hold the humidity not the cooler itself. You want 95 to 100% humidity closer to 100% the better but 95 % seems to be the min humidity. I use heat tape in full size incubator as well as the one im building now. And yes air is not the best at retaining heat and thats why I line the "incubator" with water bottles as water retains heat better. You could also use a fish tank heater in water with a shelf to keep your egg box if you like. But I have never had an issue. Hope this helps.
I have a few videos on incubator build as well as how I set up my egg boxes that may help.
Thank you so much for your response. I am using the little giant egg incubator. The temperature is at 90 on the outside of the egg box and inside it is around 85 degrees. I am using sponges soaked in water with the eggs elevated above. First time mom so I guess I am freaking out a bit lol. Do you think I could raise the temp in the incubator to raise it inside the egg box without doing harm?
@@pureblood_straight_pride1853 try and get your temps in egg box to around 88.5 to 89.5 .
Going Yooper ok, I turned it up a little and will keep watch to make sure it is at a steady temperature. Thank you so much!
You sir are a legend. First clutch coming soon and this is going to be soo helpful
Il keep my fingers crossed 4 u brother.
Going Yooper thanks man. I’ve set the tub up as a test with vermiculite and perlite mix and the humidity is perfect and has been for the week I’ve been testing. Recommend this to anyone in need now.

Nice DIY guide! Thanks for sharing. :)
Welcome.
What a neat idea! I like that!
Ausome video I'll probably use this for my first incubator have a great day brother
Let me know how it goes.Just make sure you set it up way before you need it to get temps right.

Eggcellent video!!! Keep up the great work.

@@GoingYooper thank you so much i will let you know how it goses if i remember!!
Thanks! This is great!!
Your welcome.
Hey man awesome DIY😂..... Would you still recommend this method to a beginner like myself?
Yes I used one for years. In fact I know a lot of people who still do. I even seen someone who uses just a foam cooler ,light and a pencil to poke holes in the cooler with the light bulb in it till the temp is perfect. Incubating eggs is just following a few simple rules for a period of time. And once you have the temp and humidity right it's set it and forget it. I also have a fridge to incubator full build video and soon Il be making a storefront cooler to incubator build.Hope this helped.SO many ways to build an ball python incubator. You can make a small closet a incubator.
lol i forgot i talked about the foam cooler and lightbulb lol Sorry I typed it as well.

Great video brother! I love the informational videos. I think they are important for the newbies in the community... Keep up the great work!.. Jeff L.
Thank you Jeff.Il do my best to keep them coming.
do you put any holes in the egg tubs them selves?
Small hole in lid is fine.
Awesome thank you!
Great info
Great video brother an great setup
Thank you TnT team.
What should the temperature and humidity be in the incubator?
Do you ever have to add water into it overtime?
@@chaseedwards5060 Here isa link to my egg box setup. I do not have to add water during the incubation. ua-cam.com/video/zBqfaAlPYaY/v-deo.html
Good idea! I also wish that someone would do an incubator giveaway. That would really save some money.
That would be nice.It will not be me unless I job starts giving me my checks on time.lol
How many watts is the heating pad and what did you set the thermostat to?
Well the pad in said video only uses about 5 watts. I dont set the thermostat to a temp as much as I use a temp gun to make sure the temp in the egg box is 88.5 to 89 degrees.
Cool diy.I want to make that when i have ball python My dream!
They work great.
you make a air flow ? how when gecko out egg he can breath? and what watt you pad use
The cooler is far from air tight and I run a thermostat on the heat pad to regulate temp.I also do not breed geckos only ball pythons. And I use a large incubator for them. The cooler is just incase my incubator fails or for first time breeders.
Real Nice Information Video 👌
great little incubator or even a back up.
One question , how do you get the humidity up for the eggs if there is no water source thank u
in the egg box
I have a eg box video and 2 more incubator builds on this channel. I use river rock, water and a light defuser to keep eggs off the water.Works great and reusable.
One last question do the rocks squish the egg sorry for being annoying first time breeding
@@lilianadoan4503 Here is a link to my egg boxes NOTE: You do not want to get any moisture on the eggs!!!!! Never touching the water. ua-cam.com/video/zBqfaAlPYaY/v-deo.html
What size heat mat do I need for leopard geckos
So did you use two thermometers???
No I used one thermostat with probe placed in egg bin with eggs.
I did something similar I used a tub with a water heater it keeps the heat just the humidity is way to high
You want as close to 100% humidity in the egg box but you dont need humidity outside the egg box. But I know a lot of people who run it that way with no issues. do what works best for you for sure. I use a store cooler to incubate that was just for someone who was in a pinch.
@@GoingYooper I appreciate that I'm not really sure my first time I am not sure if I'm doing it right
@@GoingYooper so hi humidity is good it's for bearded dragons and ball pythons I just have a 56 quart sterilite tub with a water heater I put holes in the tub so there is airflow and have a crate with a tub for the eggs the temp is good but the humidity reads 99% so that is good then
Was wondering when you'd finally do this video lol. Very informative and useful in a pinch. Awesome job Jason
Well it's here.lol
Dumb same but do you have to have the thermometer?
yes
I got three "Omaha Steaks" shipping containers, which are basically styrofoam coolers, for free from my boss. I'm going to try this with the heat pads or heat tape. I have also watched videos where people use submersible fish/aquarium heaters covered in water in coolers also but this idea seems more fool proof.
Yes I seen the fish tank heater as well. Awesome pick up from your boss.
Would this work for royal python eggs? Brought a snake turns out she's ready to drop.
tanya beeney yes if you can keep the temp steady at 88 to 90 degrees. I like 89 degrees.
great advice brother
Thanks Trav. :)
Can you send the links plz thank you
Cool video!
Awesome glad you like it.
So glad you did this video i was wondering what to do i was just only gonna breed live birth snakes do you no ware i can get an adult male and female garter snakes
No problem.I do not have a breeder to give you for a garter snake that I would by from that is.Il keep an eye out for you though.
Thanks i just figured for my first breed i would do a live birth so i didnt have to worry bout the incubater but now that i see this i might just try to find whatever just to make a little bit of money to get me started breeding more
@@lampshadesarelife5643 get a fishing license then go catch garters
Can i use that kind of incubator for my iguana
LATEST song don’t see why not.
@@GoingYooper thanks. I hope you got more subscribers and viewers
How did you get the heat mat through the hole in the side?
I took the drain spout out and used that hole.
Going Yooper is it able to be put back afterwards?
No
Best humidity for ball pythons?
Hummm 55 to 60 % for bps. And for their eggs as close to 100% as you can get.

That1Feeder ohh no problem man
How do u make the box humid inside where the eggs are?
I use river rock, water and a grid in a press n sealed lidded plastic tub. I have an egg box how to video. It should help you keep that humidity in.
Okay where can you get this break from

What thermostat do you use?
Herp stat 1 Iv also used a cheap jumpstart before that worked great. You always want to set it up and let it run for a few weeks to get everything dialed in.
Ok great! And have you used the diy incubator in the video successfully?
No not the one in the video. But I have used the same set up before. I have two large incubators I use.I also have build videos of them too.
Ok, and what have you hatched in the other ones that were the same set up? I’m just new to this whole breeding thing and want to get it right.
@@reptilerant173 Research everything. Iv hatched only Ball pythons in said incubator set up. And very basic stuff as this was many years ago. I still have it set up and ready if my other two fail on me. Great first or back up incubator. So many incubator videos with this set up check them all out.See what works best for you. I also have an old fridge I built into an incubator that worked great last season. As seen in my videos.
That almost looks like my first incubator.
A lot of people start with this incubator. Great for a small number of clutches.
This is the 7th Video on Incubators for reptiles. How to do it and
so forth. But no one explanes WHY? Why an Incubator? Animals breed in
the wild. Why can't you just let them do it in a Terrarium? Just because
of more control? Couldn't you just put eggs in a little Tupperware
inside the Terrarium? Well I'll head on and look if I'll find that info somewhere....
You could do that for sure. But the mothers health is the reason why. Mom will go off food till the eggs hatch and leave the area. We take the eggs and clean mom and her tub to get rid of the egg smell. At that time mom will go back on food.So going from 29 to 40 days with out a meal to up to 3 1/2 months with out food.Sorry I didnt get this comment till I open the video.seem i miss a lot of comments on old videos.UA-cam issue.

Better hatch rate as well as the health of the female. She will not go back on food as long as there is eggs.Remove eggs to incubator and female goes back on food.
