Yeah, the gold grind is real, but you can also make gold from pretty much everything, and how much you can earn scales pretty quickly with how long you play, especially with something like gardening.

I started out hunting deer early morning, then went to the shell route. Not big on bug catching. Level 4 vs Level 11 in Foraging, Level 9 Hunting. Now I'm maximizing farming and doing the shell route back & forth in that area as they respawn quickly.
@@DoctorDDub I just now figured out you can press E to scroll across on your hotbar. I thought I'd share in case you hadn't figured it out yet. I heard you commenting about it on your first live stream.
That's partly why this is my favorite run. A lot of people go for shells and stuff, but I rarely see people catching bugs/critters. Plus, you can challenge yourself with some longer throws for some added fun :)
do a cake party now. Super fun way to make a ton of money, and if you're lucky you can get into a group with the oven role and not have to contribute items.
Just run from one end of the beach to the other in loops picking up Shells, Oysters, Coral & Dragon Breath Moss. 10k an hour. Farmed to 70k gold doing so on Day 1 of closed beta (requires no skills) You also don't need to spend time crafting or buying smoke bombs. It's 10k net profit vs any form of bug catching.
I tried that while catching crabs as well but it runs dry pretty fast. You gotta logout and login again to swap to another server. So it starts from mid bottom to bottom bottom. Then tp on top. Farm to the other end, swap server than repeat. It is almost same as hunting I think. Probably a bit lower. Also more relaxing. The way I play hunting is... Kind of crazy. 😂😂😂 Ani cancelling everything and running at all times. From picking up items at full speed to shooting sernuks mid air and cancelling the animation before hitting the ground. But hunting is still more profitable and it is self sustaining. Copper is found along the Sernuk farming route. Daytime you get even more gold from hunting.
Of course! They accidentally removed every single oyster in yesterday's patch, so it might be pretty bad by comparison at the current moment. You've been warned! Lol.
nice tip and awesome if you don't like competition, but the real gold would come from hunting in kirina :) you easily get 2k gold in 5 minutes when there's noone around (needs copper arrows) edit: i learned of palia thanks to you what feels like years ago :D i really enjoy the closed beta
I do, yeah. The only other bombs I can craft don't increase stun chance, they just slow them down or not startle them (with the stealth ones). I was able to catch all rarities with them, it just takes a few more. And skill level doesn't matter, only the quality of your bug belt! Great questions!
I stil fell like fishing is the best way to go for money. Even more so at the start of the game. You have a pond at your plot and can easy get up to 100 gold per minute, wich is really good if you wait for morning to go water your plants, or when processing of last 2-3 planks or bricks will end, and have some free time.
You might be right. That's why I said this was my favorite method, not the best one. Fishing for hours straight, while profitable, is boring to me. It's the same thing over and over and over. There's no wrong way to play Palia though!
yeah, I really want to figure out when the resources reset. Haul runs don't work if ppl have already taken everything, which tbh is the massive downside of this as an MMO
Yeah, but that can be mitigated by grouping up. They come back fairly quick, but I believe they disappear 30 seconds after the first player harvest them. And I'm hoping that as more zones are released, players will be more and more dispersed, making it feel less congested in areas like that.
Very similar run but continue along the beach through the gap into the north side of Bihari Bay, focus on the items in the water and only Spiney Crabs, similar run should net you closer to $7500 each trip home.
I do a similar route picking up everything but the respawn rate and other players made me move to other methods which require a little skill etc. so I just do a mix when more ppl,are online. Or get a group going.
Yeah, it can be a tad hit or miss on the shells and other forageables, but that's why I supplement with crabs galore, lol. As long as you're constantly gathering stuff, it works pretty well, not to mention is quite fun!
Yeah, I've since learned that, lol, though still haven't found a need. I make more fertilizer through my worm bins than I know what to do with so I just sell most of it!
Is there a reason you'd rather sell through shipping bin than through Zeki's store? Does it give more money? Selling in Zeki's store you get occasionally his special coin in mail, so I've always just sold everything there.
I hadn't considered the extra coin aspect, but the tp home and the need to restock on smoke bombs and food for focus are my reasons. I'll give that a shot though. Thanks for the tip!
@DoctorDDub i saw one of the hotfix notes say they're adding even more of everything, from crops, materials, bugs, furniture, wood/ore, meals, store outfits, etc. really does feel like it's going the ac:nh root, giving players loads upon loads of things 😊💖 edit: yee i thankfully got in during the Playtests, it's making me want to cancel my ffxiv sub haha 🤣
Are they going to do a thing like they did with ff14 where you can attend events that involve "restoring" parts of the village or just helping out fixing up things by providing specific materials basically the entire community working together? If not can you do me a favor and suggest that cause I think that'd be really great addition for this game. Once after it fully comes out.
They haven't confirmed anything like that but once upon a time they mentioned "community events", and seeing how the entire nature of the game is cooperativeness, I'd love to see that too!
@@DoctorDDub I'd like that to. Wanna start restoring by fixing up that big ole broken orb going on at the center of the village. Fix the bridges. Add windmills. Help open up areas for new places to explore. I could go on but I can see so much good potential with this game it's even giving me good ideas for it.
I'm sure others have mentioned, but bugs are used for making quality fertilizer, which if you're farming, is super useful and you'll eventually need a lot of it.
Oh no... I've already started a Leaning Tower of Treasure Chests thanks to Eeowna... now I'm gonna have to start Leaning Towers of Critters 😂 Great tips! I tried the beach combing method the other day and was surprised at how fast the shells & oysters seemed to respawn! I need to get back there again. lol
It's not so much "the kitchen" that you unlock, but the components within it. You need to level your cooking skill a bit and talk to Reth at the tavern. You'll be able to see what levels are needed to unlock the stove, prep counter, etc.
You should be getting asbout 10k/hr with the bugs/crabs/shells in the costal areas (even without the lucky drops), not sure why you aren't. It is the best active way of making gold currently.
I'm not sure either! Though I'm now sitting at around 50k gold which I'm going to be making a real quick video on in the next few days to explain. 30k in an hour ;)
@@DoctorDDub I'm pretty sure that's impossible ;) Unless it's, multi-cook cooking, sure in total it would add up to a lot if you get enough players and high-tier recipies, but you as an individual arn't getting all that gold. Or it's, farming resources for a long time, then creating a load of stuff at once, and not taking into account the time to gather resources. Or it's, I farmed X gold in 1 min, if you x60 you get 30k, but the volume/spawn rate of the materials isn't high enough to get anywhere near that :) Happy to be proven wrong though :)
For the love of God, put the oysters on your hotbar, click it's number, then right-click to open them faster, lol. Thanks for the video and information
They absolutely messed up by not selling founders packs before full release with limited items like cosmetics. Could’ve grabbed a huuuuuge stack by doing so
I have sooooooo many questions LOL. I spend most of my time lost and confused and I'm hopeless at bug catching. When you have placed something can you move it? How do I add planks to my plot for a house. I have the planks but the f on the sign pops up a thing and I can't add to it. Thanks for any help :0) x
You have to move the sliders. I know it looks like they should move as you add resources, but you have to move it in order to add. Took me a minute to figure out. Hope this explanation makes sense!
you sure you have planks ? like sapwood planks, or something like that, you need a machine for it and yes, you move it by pressing control on your keyboard, then left click mouse or for the house, press h and it goes into a bird's eye view
Well, I've kept this secret for three days. I think I can share here. Roughly 6k per half hour. Mirror fields, day time. Catch grasshopper and dragonfly ONLY. Loot spicebush and if needed any copper you see. Once evening rolls through go fish, or cook fish you've caught.
It's very much a social game. Plus, it's going to take ages to max your property. That's a very, very long way off. Though if you don't see the point in playing, or find enjoyment in completing all the optional achievements, then no need to keep playing past that!
The main plot to this game is actually centered around exploring ruins but the main quest line isn't finished yet since it's still in beta. Otherwise for many people the end game may be marriage, completing their collections, friendships, and/or maxing out their house. It's not really meant to be a pvp mmo I'm not even sure why people are so confused by it. It's taking the social sim aspect of many cozy games like stardew valley and animal crossing, and making it mass multi-player with an open world concept. You're not going to find boss fights in it 🤣🤣🤣
i looked it up after this video and seems that the beta is for everyone so i signed up and since i'm broke i'll be using this method to make some money, thanks
I started playing this recently and i dont think it was ever explained how to go from one chat to the other like server to party to whisper. Its simple its just the tab key but this was not explained and I had to ask someone in game about it. This was not something I was used to in my other mmo's so usually it was just clicking on the chat you wanted to be in but that only hides the chat in palia.
Yeah, it's a bit unintuitive, for sure. Some commands like /w and /r still work for whispers and replies to the most recent whisper. I'm just hoping they add a local chat and/or a home plot chat.
Heres a life hack for people who quickly got burnt out of this game. Dont play 8 hours a day. play maybe 1 or 2 hours, its not meant to be grindy and speedran. just enjoy yourself and take it slow
@raecrockett I also have ADHD, did you actually try? Or did you think about it and decide not to. Your ADHD isn't gonna stop you from turning the game off
Thank GOD there's no player economy. So many MMOs boast "player driven economies" and without fail, at least 3 months from release the entire economy is completely broken and inaccessible to new/casual players.
You're not wrong, but it's a rough estimate. As long as you're having fun with this route, it's still worth doing in my opinion. I've found better ways of making gold, sure, but I still go back to this because I enjoy it!
The makeshift smoke bombs don't have a 100% stun rate on all critters. For the crabs, yes, but not for the purple crabs or the snails, hence the multiple!

nop, the best way to make a ton of money is the tomato farm, I have 9 crops auto sufficient in water and make daily 15k-30k with small weeding while I spend my time hunting, fishing and logging and mining. Just got 7 seed collectors running non stop to sell the tomato seeds. Bug hunting is clearly not a good money thing, but anyway in Palia, you'd need to up to lvl 10 all your skills. Farming is the passive income and the rest you need to do it all.
If any stats will help (don't know when your notebook released, it seemed pretty new? but maybe it's old and you already considered getting something new): I'm playing on an old pc atm (bought in 2011), only upgraded my GPU after it died a few years back and changed CPU to a sliiiightly better one (CPU was used & gifted), everything else is still the old stuff. I'm not even using a SSD. I'm playing with i7 3770 3.40GHz and gtx 1070ti - BUT my GPU is dying. I have a lot of vram problems and can hardly play any games with it (eg Overwatch 2 or Sims doesn't work at all, GPU will straight up just die on me if I start those games xD). I am able to play Palia on max settings tho and it has pretty good performance (and I really love my max settings games with 140fps; I have a newer pc at home)! I really have no issues in playing performance wise (I thought I couldn't even play). But I need to add I feel like lower settings are harder on this old pc than max settings. :) Everything else ok? The CPU+GPU I saw in Nitro 5 ads should be better than mine.

I just found out you are limited to 9 farming plots. I'm very disappointed in that. It's a game killer for me. I don't min/max, but to be limited in this fashion in how I want to play a game kills it for me. I'm hoping this is just a Beta thing and not something that is permenant, because the game is pretty great.
Yeah, if they get enough feedback on it, it's possible it could change! I'm absolutely loving the game myself so I hope they continue listening to the community!
This is annoying as Apple tree takes whole plot and blue berry bush 4 patches limiting how much I can grow. Much of my income comes from selling crops as I spend most time doing quests, searching for rare bugs and mining ore.
It's fun for me though and I wanted to provide a decent alternative for those like me who don't want to do the same thing on repeat. Hunting is a great source of gold though!

5.000 / h? you are lying to gain views, we can see in your video that you only generate about 800 with the bugs in 1 hour... and your bag only has 7,000, if it really took you only 1 hour and you won 5,000 you would not have only 7,000 in your bag. .. Of course! Like I said, it's certainly not the best, but I find it a lot of fun. Did it for a few hours today actually, lol.
@@DoctorDDub it's my game plan for tomorrow. 🤣❤️
I started out hunting deer early morning, then went to the shell route. Not big on bug catching. Level 4 vs Level 11 in Foraging, Level 9 Hunting. Now I'm maximizing farming and doing the shell route back & forth in that area as they respawn quickly.
That's what I love about this game. No matter what you do, you're always making progress!!!
@@DoctorDDub I just now figured out you can press E to scroll across on your hotbar. I thought I'd share in case you hadn't figured it out yet. I heard you commenting about it on your first live stream.
I do enjoy deer hunting but 100 ppl hunting deer on a 25man zone really impacts the fun. 5k an hour doing this does not seem bad at all
That's partly why this is my favorite run. A lot of people go for shells and stuff, but I rarely see people catching bugs/critters. Plus, you can challenge yourself with some longer throws for some added fun :)
You can actually use bugs to make fertilizer on the crafting table.
Thank you!! There's going to be so much learning to be done with this game, lol. I appreciate the correction!
do a cake party now. Super fun way to make a ton of money, and if you're lucky you can get into a group with the oven role and not have to contribute items.
Did 3 hours of that last night, and plan on starting to coordinate some of my own soon too. Trust me, I'm far from poor in-game, lol.
@DoctorDDub yeah I just recently started doing them, amazing money maker and its a very fun mmo activity
It really is, especially if you're in a VC with everyone!
Just run from one end of the beach to the other in loops picking up Shells, Oysters, Coral & Dragon Breath Moss. 10k an hour. Farmed to 70k gold doing so on Day 1 of closed beta (requires no skills)
You also don't need to spend time crafting or buying smoke bombs. It's 10k net profit vs any form of bug catching.
I'll have to give that a shot. IDK though, I personally really like bug catching. It's fun for me! Not so much at first, but I love it now!
Ani cancelling everything and running at all times. From picking up items at full speed to shooting sernuks mid air and cancelling the animation before hitting the ground.
But hunting is still more profitable and it is self sustaining. Copper is found along the Sernuk farming route.
Daytime you get even more gold from hunting.
@@leotle6309 you don't have to change servers at all. And don't catch any crabs. Foraging only. Still the most consistent gold farm in the game
Just started playing! Appreciate the tip! :)
Of course! They accidentally removed every single oyster in yesterday's patch, so it might be pretty bad by comparison at the current moment. You've been warned! Lol.
@@DoctorDDub Looks like tomorrow's update will fix that...hopefully! :P
Among other things, I hope! Fingers crossed!!!
nice tip and awesome if you don't like competition, but the real gold would come from hunting in kirina :) you easily get 2k gold in 5 minutes when there's noone around (needs copper arrows)
edit: i learned of palia thanks to you what feels like years ago :D i really enjoy the closed beta
Is this before or after they nerfed the price of sernuk horns?
@@DoctorDDub It's still decent money if you are using the better arrows
Where is Kirina??
@@DoctorDDub i think after :) though hunting is very often full
@@Mystical_Goddess kilima i mean ;) the main map/town
Pro tip, after pressing F to collect something, quickly jump and it cancels the annoying (to me) pickup animation!!
I'll give that a shot, thanks! It is a bit long... Lol
Keep coral for smoke candles, which make you invisible to bugs.
Awesome! This game looks pretty fun.
It's a freaking blast. I can't stop playing it... Lol
You should mention that Public beta is open now
In 10 minutes!!!
u only use makeshift bombs for everything? they can be used on rare? or epic? does skill level effect more on ability to catch stuff?
I'll definitely give that a try! Thanks for the suggestion!
As long as you're constantly gathering stuff, it works pretty well, not to mention is quite fun!
bugs can be used in making fertilizer (qualityboost). takes any bug red meat and forgot the 3rd ingredient
Yeah, I've since learned that, lol, though still haven't found a need. I make more fertilizer through my worm bins than I know what to do with so I just sell most of it!
Doc, a great video!
Thank you khindley ;) See what I did there? Lol. Glad you enjoyed!!! Many more on their way!
Is there a reason you'd rather sell through shipping bin than through Zeki's store? Does it give more money? Selling in Zeki's store you get occasionally his special coin in mail, so I've always just sold everything there.
Laziness :P You click "Return home" and can unload inverntory immediately, instead of having to run from the beach/home all the way to Zeki's
I hadn't considered the extra coin aspect, but the tp home and the need to restock on smoke bombs and food for focus are my reasons. I'll give that a shot though. Thanks for the tip!
Every RL day, Zeki gives lucky coin if you buy stuff from his store at least once.
Well done video, thank you!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words. Have a great day!
i may have to try this, thanks dude~
No problem! I hope you have fun with it, whatever you decide to spend your time doing!
@DoctorDDub only thing that'd make palia better, is having a pet follow me around 😭❤️
Haha, I can't imagine a Palia where that doesn't get added. We're only in open beta. The game has so much room to grow, yet it's already amazing!
@DoctorDDub i saw one of the hotfix notes say they're adding even more of everything, from crops, materials, bugs, furniture, wood/ore, meals, store outfits, etc.
really does feel like it's going the ac:nh root, giving players loads upon loads of things 😊💖
edit: yee i thankfully got in during the Playtests, it's making me want to cancel my ffxiv sub haha 🤣
Great video, thank you! ;)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Someone said this was "an MMO for facebook moms" and now I can't unsee it lol
Haha, it definitely is more Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing than it is MMO, but I'm personally loving it!
I'm sure others have mentioned, but bugs are used for making quality fertilizer, which if you're farming, is super useful and you'll eventually need a lot of it.
Yes they have, thank you! I've still yet to need that though despite having all 9 plots. My worm bins provide more than enough for my needs!
You can keep the quailty fertilizer you craft & sell off all the basic fertilizer you get from the worm farm.
I'm getting much more than basic fertilizer from my worm bins. Making absolutely bank doing so as well, lol. It's wonderful!
2:18 actually they are used in some recipes
I'm slowly realizing that, lol. Though I don't think I'll ever be creating fertilizer with them. Worm bins are great!
Bugs are used in the crafting of fertilizer
I prefer to use my crops for that since I get so many of them. But yes, you're right, I forgot to mention that. Thank you for bringing that up!
Oh no... I've already started a Leaning Tower of Treasure Chests thanks to Eeowna... now I'm gonna have to start Leaning Towers of Critters 😂
Great tips! I tried the beach combing method the other day and was surprised at how fast the shells & oysters seemed to respawn! I need to get back there again. lol
Haha, she's a fantastic creator and fellow Palia Partner! The bug towers are a ton of fun - you can climb to the sky and beyond with them currently!
@@DoctorDDub NEW GOAL UNLOCKED 🤣
How do you get the kitchen? I'm struggling to find it...
Depends on your role, but yes. I'll be happy to partially prove you wrong ;) haha, good for you to challenge it though!
I prefer hunting which is 1.8k ish gold every 10 mins, about 10.8k - 11k gold an hour (sernuks only)
That's a solid method too! I just can't hunt for that long without getting bored or distracted, lol.
Yeah maybe I'm weird because I literally love it! XD We all gotta find something we like @@DoctorDDub
For the love of God, put the oysters on your hotbar, click it's number, then right-click to open them faster, lol. Thanks for the video and information
Lol, I appreciate the tip. Everyone's going to play the game differently though and there's nothing wrong with that! Have fun in Palia!!!
They absolutely messed up by not selling founders packs before full release with limited items like cosmetics. Could’ve grabbed a huuuuuge stack by doing so
Oooh, don't tempt me with things that don't exist!!! Lol
@@beanybee thanks I have tried but they don't move LOL
you sure you have planks ? like sapwood planks, or something like that, you need a machine for it
and yes, you move it by pressing control on your keyboard, then left click mouse
or for the house, press h and it goes into a bird's eye view
What Pheniks said! This is all accurate. Make sure you have sapwood planks, not sapwood logs. That has tripped plenty of people up!
I can’t wait until I can play this on my steam deck.
I've been talking to a few other creators who already are!!!
Thanks for sharing! I'll give that a try soon!!!
Can some explain the point?? Is there an end game… once your property is maxed what then??
You're not going to find boss fights in it 🤣🤣🤣
Bugs are good for making fertilizer
They can be, but I haven't found a need to use a single one yet. I get more than enough from the worm bin.
Hunt Sirnuks with Standard Arrows and a standard bow. easy 15-25k an hour.
i'm watching a video on how to make gold and the game is not even out
Lol, it's in open beta so things could certainly change, but anyone can play it for free right now!
i looked it up after this video and seems that the beta is for everyone so i signed up and since i'm broke i'll be using this method to make some money, thanks
Bugs will be used for the fisherman's brew later in game though
Thanks, Nathalie! We're all learning together!
You are a monster! What did those animals do to you !
Have you seen the way those crabs look at you?!
Make a critter fortress next
Heres a life hack for people who quickly got burnt out of this game. Dont play 8 hours a day. play maybe 1 or 2 hours, its not meant to be grindy and speedran. just enjoy yourself and take it slow
Yeah I tried that 😅 my adhd said no 🤣
@raecrockett I also have ADHD, did you actually try? Or did you think about it and decide not to. Your ADHD isn't gonna stop you from turning the game off
Thank GOD there's no player economy. So many MMOs boast "player driven economies" and without fail, at least 3 months from release the entire economy is completely broken and inaccessible to new/casual players.
you forgot to incalculate the time you use making the bombs and or buying them.
You're not wrong, but it's a rough estimate. As long as you're having fun with this route, it's still worth doing in my opinion. I've found better ways of making gold, sure, but I still go back to this because I enjoy it!
I don't understand why people throw multiple smoke bombs at critters. One works for most things. Throw it and run to the creature before it gets away.
The makeshift smoke bombs don't have a 100% stun rate on all critters. For the crabs, yes, but not for the purple crabs or the snails, hence the multiple!
@@DoctorDDub Yep, noticed that shortly after my dumb comment haha. Thanks for the info!

nop, the best way to make a ton of money is the tomato farm, I have 9 crops auto sufficient in water and make daily 15k-30k with small weeding while I spend my time hunting, fishing and logging and mining. Just got 7 seed collectors running non stop to sell the tomato seeds. Bug hunting is clearly not a good money thing, but anyway in Palia, you'd need to up to lvl 10 all your skills. Farming is the passive income and the rest you need to do it all.
Yep, that's why I clearly said this wasn't the best, but my favorite. Bug catching has quickly become my favorite skill - it's so fun for me!
I really want to play ;-; .
Even got the early aces, but the game have a horrible performance on my pc even in the low.
*My notebook: Acer nitro 5
I'm hopeful that optimization comes with time. Hopefully performance gets better for you!!!
If any stats will help (don't know when your notebook released, it seemed pretty new? but maybe it's old and you already considered getting something new):
I'm playing on an old pc atm (bought in 2011), only upgraded my GPU after it died a few years back and changed CPU to a sliiiightly better one (CPU was used & gifted), everything else is still the old stuff.
Everything else ok? The CPU+GPU I saw in Nitro 5 ads should be better than mine.

There's only two zones for now but they're actually quite large! Especially Bahari Bay. It's huge. Not to mention, dense with stuff.
you wrong you can make fertilizer and use one you farming plot 100 for 100 days
Yeah I've since learned that, yet still find it pointless since worm farms produce more than enough fertilizer for me at the moment. Thank you though!
ah so the same gold grind everyone does :)
Haha, we're all learning together. Brand new games are a blast because of that.
That might be the very reason they limit it, lol.
I can't find red or and I really need a better axe can you give me tips please
5k per hour is nothing special dude, try insect catching
It's fun for me though and I wanted to provide a decent alternative for those like me who don't want to do the same thing on repeat. Hunting is a great source of gold though!

5.000 / h? you are lying to gain views, we can see in your video that you only generate about 800 with the bugs in 1 hour... and your bag only has 7,000, if it really took you only 1 hour and you won 5,000 you would not have only 7,000 in your bag. ..
