It definitely needs work. It feels like a really amazing alpha, and a decent beta. But as a beta that's moving into an open sort of 'soft launch', it's lacking. Even simple stuff like not being able to delete a character, or no facial hair for characters (it's coming as 'a feature' in the future), on top of a very predatory costume shop. It's definitely not perfect.
2 tips: If you have a quest to turn in to an npc, you can still do that, even if they're sleeping. Just go to their door and they'll still talk to you :) You can also go to the horseshoe icons on the map, and fast travel through the signs there for a fee.
Best thing about having a farm and getting up early (in the US, Pacific NW) -- being able to make it to your stream for the free code in the morning! This looks like SO much fun.
Thanks for the breakdown of Palia basics and preview of the beautiful world. It's going to be a painful max FOMO like wait until I can play on the Switch, but at least watching the play throughs will help me get ready to jump right in☺

I started playing today and I gotta say one of my favorite things so far is how the NPCs move around the map so when you pick up a question where you put it in it’s gonna be different because NPC is constantly moving
I was back and forth on the premium shop for the first bit of playing the game. I think spending $20 on a skin was a bit much, until i thought about how you have 3 color variants of that skin. 3 skins for $20 didn't seem so bad to me at that point, when in a BR a single cosmetic skin can run $10. I feel like the prices are still a biiiiiiiittttt high, but when adding the color variants to the thought it made some more sense because they all had as much detail!!
I think it was this video (I've watched several in the past day), where you said fast travel was essentially back to your house. What about the boards at stables, where you can fast travel around the map, for gold?
From what I have seen and done so far is when you fast travel it is free every 17 minutes or 18 and if you use the boards you can spend 17 coins to travel back home. It is more money to travel to locations but you would just mostly use for home. This could be different and could be less if closer to home. It is not hard to make money to be able to fast travel since it is such a small amout and you do not have to use your own money. I was invited to closed Beta this past week since I just learned about it last week and started playing yesterday and have not slept yet to catch up before open beta. I am a professional gamer so it is easy to make money in this game compare to most games and super chilled. I customized my controller to play in game as well. Just so you know I am 39 and I have been playing games since Atari and when Nintendo came out in the 80's and I was one of the only girls playing back then.
Looks like a slow, grinding and fun game. My type of game with no combat. Besides the storyline line, I can give my character a story as well. I know there is micro transactions for cosmetics for items and clothing so for my character to progress through the game she will slowly go from normal clothes to magnificent.
I've been curious about this game, but not quite enough to be decided on trying the beta, so I really appreciate your video discussing the various aspects of it! I can already see the room for expansion, which is great for the future.
You really should. Create your account and play the open beta that starts next week. S6 has already said that there will be no server wipe and this is literally early start if you play.

Simple way to solve this most AAA games cost 60 so give us the option to buy the game for 60 and that unlocks all cosmetics as like I said I ain’t paying 25 for one outfit
Diablo 4 is 70 quid for the base game and has cosmetics priced the same, so paying upfront doesn't get rid of in game premium content. Also a lot of people can't easily afford £60 and tbh I'd rather not be able to afford an optional outfit than not be able to play at all.
@@Eeownalol no 🤣 this game is literally cash shop with some barebones boring gameplay attached to pretend it's an actual game. I rather play My time at Portia/Sandrock.. Also Sandrock has multiplayer.
That building upgrade time of 8 hours doesn't look good.. That screams mobile game where you pay to skip the time, if it isn't already in it will be at some point.

It's unplayable for those of us who get motion sickness from video games. They could fix it if they didn't force the screen to move every time I moved my mouse, and they did make it an option in beta, but took it away for some stupid reason.
Everything looks lovely, but $25 for an outfit? Two of those would be a full game. Four is a #100. I think it'd be better for the devs if they priced it around $10 per outfit at most...
Full disclosure I didn’t realise till today when I could buy them you do get 3 colours to wear them with, although these were the most expensive, there’s some for less than $10

It's not TOTALLY true that there is no stamina mechanic. There is stamina when you're climbing up walls, but that is all that I've found so far.
