I honestly don't want my ex back, he was unfaithful and abusive -but what I am having difficulty with is I'm expecting every new guy to behave like he did, and scrutinising every cause of doubt that they give me. It's unfair on them, they shouldn't have to pay a debt that someone else owes. To answer the question, things that have helped are rearranging furniture, so guess that ties in with cleansing your space, and throwing myself into creative and craft projects. Well I am.feeling pretty pleased with myself. My ex ended things between us only Wednesday of this week. I have done all of the things you suggested on day two before you had posted this video. I didn't even realise I was doing it. This is not a pattern I have followed in the past with exes, so I know I have had growth in between partners. What is the one thing you should never do? Did I miss that? Well, Im actually still working on it! I deeply feel the need to get back together with my ex lately but I also found out that he is dating someone new which makes me feel so hurt and jealous. What I've done to feel better is to remind myself everytime why I broke up with him in the first place. Then i muted him (cause i wasn't ready yet to unfollow him) from social media so i couldn't see any content from him cause that would hurt me a lot ! I don't have any pictures in my phone gallery but i've saved them in my laptop which i rarely use now. To be honest im doing all of the things you mentioned but i guess i need more time to heal and to process all the feelings that i experience right now! @Mathewboggs, I am so grateful for your wife. Both of you know Christ and then yet she allows you to work with women. No jealousy or not even thinking that it is wrong. A lot of Christians I know, think that men work with men, women work with women. I find it stupid, because I cannot work with some women, they irritate me. Well, I'm sort of in a dilemma situation. I get it that you're supposed to remove triggers (that make you think about your ex). But, in order for me to feel more confident and remove doubt from why I broke up with my ex, I need to read about narcissistic abuse, even if it is all about him and I recall him while reading this. My way is to educate myself on the matter so that I can cope, because if one day I don't read about the facts of an abusive relationship, my mind ruminates and feelings come back to try to steer me off track even when I know this guy was bad news for me. Just to mention a few things: I was robbed of my sense of self, play-fighting went too far and I always ended up intimidated or physically hurt, if I ever disagreed with anything or there was something I didn't want to do he could just pull the silent treatment and ignore my existence for days, he did blame-shifting onto me because he was incapable of taking any responsibility himself, he was pushy with anything sexual he wanted to do, instant gratification was the only thing good enough for him... I could go on. So reading about these types of things is in fact my list.
I completely agree with you on getting education concerning narcissistic abuse so you don't get triggered by thoughts that make you think of your ex all the time . But also, another thing that could help is to learn how to recognize and allow the things that are meant for you to actually come: this way you would be able to attract the kind of love and romance that aligns with you.

Well, Im actually still working on it!
I deeply feel the need to get back together with my ex lately but I also found out that he is dating someone new which makes me feel so hurt and jealous.
What I've done to feel better is to remind myself everytime why I broke up with him in the first place. Then i muted him (cause i wasn't ready yet to unfollow him) from social media so i couldn't see any content from him cause that would hurt me a lot ! I don't have any pictures in my phone gallery but i've saved them in my laptop which i rarely use now.
To be honest im doing all of the things you mentioned but i guess i need more time to heal and to process all the feelings that i experience right now! I really hope that one day I'll wake up with a light heart and dry eyes, because now, mornings feel meaningless...

Well, I'm sort of in a dilemma situation. I get it that you're supposed to remove triggers (that make you think about your ex). But, in order for me to feel more confident and remove doubt from why I broke up with my ex, I need to read about narcissistic abuse, even if it is all about him and I recall him while reading this. My way is to educate myself on the matter so that I can cope, because if one day I don't read about the facts of an abusive relationship, my mind ruminates and feelings come back to try to steer me off track even when I know this guy was bad news for me. Just to mention a few things: I was robbed of my sense of self, play-fighting went too far and I always ended up intimidated or physically hurt, if I ever disagreed with anything or there was something I didn't want to do he could just pull the silent treatment and ignore my existence for days, he did blame-shifting onto me because he was incapable of taking any responsibility himself, he was pushy with anything sexual he wanted to do, instant gratification was the only thing good enough for him... I could go on. So reading about these types of things is in fact my list.
I completely agree with you on getting education concerning narcissistic abuse so you don't get triggered by thoughts that make you think of your ex all the time . But also, another thing that could help is to learn how to recognize and allow the things that are meant for you to actually come: this way you would be able to attract the kind of love and romance that aligns with you.
