A way to keep your washing machine from smelling bad is to leave the door or lid open after using it. If you close it you are keeping the moisture locked in and it will cause it to mildew. Just leave it open.
You are 100% correct...!! I remember back in the late 90's when my parent's purchased their first front loaders they complained about the smell after about a year of having them.... Back then I don't remember anyone saying to leave the door's open or else they would smell but as the year's went on and they replaced them I read the instructions that came with it (I must have been bored one day) and in the little booklet it tells you to leave them open to keep them from smelling....!! I've always wondered if their original set's booklet also said the same thing....!!

Our landlord in one of our apartments complained of all of the thick hair that he had to clean out of the sink. My late husband and I both had baby fine hair, and were there for only a couple of weeks. There was no way we could have caused the clog that fast with our hair, it had to be the former tenants.

She showed me once she stuck that thing down the drain and pulled up all the gook and hair. It was disgusting! But it worked so good! I definitely recommend these to anybody who has problems with drainage, and clogged sinks, and or tubs. I don’t think they work in the toilet! I DK!

So that's why some people have stinky washers. I could never understand why some smell bad and mine never did. I have not once in my life ever used a machine cleaner, nor has my mom. Once in a blue moon, my mom might run a hot cycle with just bleach, but that was pretty rare. We always leave the lid open until the machine is dry though.
Nope, that's not the only reason. Even the front facing machines can have a mildew smell. That's because some of the components in the machine are too deep or hold onto moisture way longer (especially the rubber seals). If your dryer is also in a small room/closet next to the washer, you don't get airflow even when the machine's left open. On top of that, it smells because the warmth of the dryer keeps the water left in the washer warm and breeds bacteria/mold. Not everyone has a large home or garage for their wash/dry. People in apartments have them in a tiny closet space, often away from windows and air flow, or in hot, humid, tropical environments.
I'd be careful about getting anything low quality electrical... I always think it could be a fire hazard. Also knock-off cleaning products can be extra unhealthy if they seep into the skin.

Every time I see you talk about the cleaning wand being so good I am surprised. My wand cleaner leaks from where you fill it. Maybe I need to give it another try and get a new one, maybe I got a bum one.
Those blue dusters with handles...I use for other purposes. I dry any cylinder shape in no time...like drinking glasses or vases. For little containers with little openings I use a tiny bottle brush with a piece of microfiber cloth rubber banded to the neck of the brush it squeezes down so easily and does the job as well, as far as scrubbing the inside I do the same except in this case I have some dowels, I cut them to 12 inches and put a old Euroscrubby around the tip. It works great.
The pink paste used to be similar to what we would buy from a vendor when, we always went to the Smokey’s every summer when, I was growing up, and, we would use it to clean our glasses. This stuff would clean our glasses better than any glass cleaner! I need to get to Dollar Tree and stalk upon some of that pink goo, because, I had been hoping , to find something like it again to cut the glass fog!

My relative bought the black lamps for our bathroom, so we don't have to turn the light on at night, saves energy and is also great for young children who might still be afraid of the dark, too. Great for camping bathrooms as well.
I learned back in the day to leave the washing machine door up (or open) to allow moisture to evaporate = no mold. I have a top load washer. When I became fostering kitties I was told to prop open the lid with a broom or mop handle.❤

Do you know that they have super dollar stores now? I did not know that until I moved to Fort Worth Texas from Houston Texas. I was driving around just looking for things and I saw a super dollar store. I went in there to see what was so different and they had so much crafting material. It was unbelievable. They also had food isles that had namebrand food. Like Cheerios, Velveeta cheese, noodles, and in their frozen section they had Baron frozen pizzas which are good for any night that you don’t want to cook. You just add a little bit of your own touch to it and it’s a really good pizza. I would check your area to see if you have one! Happy shopping!
I am addicted to the washing machine cleaner. If you compare it to Tide washing machine cleaner it has the EXACT SAME ingredients. I buy several boxes at once and keep my friends and family in stock with it.
Those drain rooters work like magic. They're great for bathroom drains. I take the gunk off of the rooter, use a few drops of dish soap to clean it and hang it up. I use mine approximately once a month.
