We stayed here in January. Everything was great, and we had a fantastic time. Everyone is very friendly and will go out of their way to make you happy.
We stayed in Punta Cana over the Christmas and New Year few times. The weather was nice and warm 27 and more every day. sometimes you might have windy days, but sunny.
I spent a week in a Level room in the middle of August 2021. In overall, the personnel was attentive and friendly. The room was lovely, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. There is no odour, and the air is not humid
The resort is incredibly gorgeous; the landscaped areas are lovely, the food is delicious, and the activities are wonderful. I would definitely recommend this resort and would undoubtedly return
We stayed at the Melia Punta Cana Beach for 14 nights and were quite pleased with the service. The staff were extremely pleasant, and the resort grounds are stunning. The food was also excellent, particularly at the restaurants. Give them a shot if you're looking for a relaxing holiday.

Hello. We're not sure if you can access all the amenities at Caribe because we stayed at both and didn't need to check- by the way, a full video tour of Melia Caribe will be available on our channel in a couple of weeks. Regarding the A la Carte Restaurants, it all depends on when you travel, for how long and how busy the resort is. During the summer- low season, if the resorts are not busy enough, they may close some of the restaurants; we experienced this at few resorts in the past. We tried 2 restaurants while we are at Melia Punta Cana Beach. Everything is open during the winter - high season. Also there is no fence between the two resorts so you can walk to Melia Caribe, no problem at all.
Hi! We stayed in a beachside premium (non level) room in April 2023. As of Jan 2023 you cannot use the bars and restaurants on the Caribe side with the exception of the Casino and the disco which are both on the Caribe side. You can walk the Caribe side and I assume you can use the pools and beach areas but really no need to because both sides are essentially identical and I assume if you book the beach side you don't want to be around families. As for a la carte's there are 3. Vietnamese, Mediterranean, and International (They were all good, International was my fav for food and it's right on the beach) you can also pay extra to go to the Japanese restaurant which is on the Caribe side .In addition you can pay $60 USD/person for surf and turf dinner on the beach. If you book a level room you also have access to another a la carte and bar (Quimera). The main buffet in my opinion was quite good and good variety from night to night. The Melia Beach resort has two sections of rooms, 'beach side' (near the beach) and 'pool side' which are nowhere near the main pool but are close to the Main lobby. Personally I would recommend a beach side room as they are close to the beach, main pool, breakfast, lunch buffet. Its a long walk from lobby to beach pool area (15-20min, although there is a tram) Realistically you are only in the lobby area in the evening for 2 of 3 a la cartes and the dinner buffet and show's/lobby bar. Everything else is down by the beach . This is a VERY beautiful resort and quite enjoyable with pretty good food by AI standards. If name brand name/premium drinks are important to you I would book a level room or at least buy some decent liqour for your room at airport when you land (Heads up, in the shopping areas aside from Rum brand name booze is more expensive than the duty free at PC airport). All the bars, except Quimera if you book the level, have local generic (ie crappy) liquor. Drinks are also pretty anemic as well at resort bars. Although If you ask for double/triple etc they are happy to do so. At the pool bar ask for a '2 happy" they will give doubles! lol. The rooms here are nice enough but a bit tired but not an issue. The mediocre drinks was really my only complaint here and in the grand scheme not a huge deal. I don't think you'll go wrong booking here. Was a very enjoyable trip and one of the nicest resort properties I've been to.

Use caution....People will come up to you on the beach and haggle you (the resort will do nothing). The resort also didn't honor advertised prices and tried to get us to buy a timeshare instead of making it right. Drinks were great and food was okay, nothing special. Would recommend another resort to be honest. The staff is nice (honestly not super nice imo- as I saw claims in other reviews), but really just speak broken English unless you are communicating with a concierge. If you have a complicated or nuanced question, goodluck.

Do they charge a deposit at check in from your intial reservation?
There was no deposit when we stayed there. Usually, they have your credit card info for any accidents, from when you book your stay.

They screen all of your bags right before existing the airport before going to your transfer.
