The '97 Eagles were a bad team but did play a lot of exciting games. They had 3 games decided by 1 point, one decided by 2 points, four decided by 3 points and one tie. Their late season game against Cincinnati, even though it was a meaningless game, was one of the best games ever played at the Vet.
The reason for Bobby Hoying’s success was because Jon Gruden was the offensive coordinator. But when Gruden left to be the raiders head coach in 98 that really hurt Hoying. During that same offseason Hoying had an emergency appendectomy and had abscess as a result of an operation. He regressed every game and he couldn’t play.
Let's go Eagles
How wrong was that Hoying prediction? Yikes.
Pat summerall makes it sound so positive lmao
I remember people comparing him to Montana. One of the biggest misses in eagles history.
