Sustainability at a Surf + Yoga Camp in Costa Rica in 2022

Since its inception, Bodhi Surf + Yoga has been environmentally aware, conservation-focused small business.
As a surf and yoga camp located in a beautiful corner of the world - Bahia Ballena - Uvita, Osa, Costa Rica, we recognize that our livelihood and success are dependent on the wellbeing of our community and environment.
In 2022, we took on the challenge of going for “Bandera Azul” (Blue Flag - a well-known Costa Rican environmental certification) in the Climate Change category.
In following this process, we completed a number of major sustainability projects around the lodge which had been on the “to do list” for years, including:
🌱 Forming a Sustainability Hub to complete items on our sustainability agenda
☀️ Installing solar panels to our lodge
💦 Adding a rainwater collector to rinse our surfboards
♻️ Building a composting center to deal with our organic waste
⚡ Putting in an electric car charger
🧑🏽‍🤝‍🧑🏾 Holding a number of environmental staff trainings
We are very excited to see the results of these actions in already reducing our carbon footprint; moreover, we are committed to continuing to actively measure and find strategies to continue on this journey. We invite you to join us in this mission.
