    Been running this for 2 weeks now and I've noticed a big difference compared to other things I've tried. Significantly when it comes to consistency. Been most surprised with spray control using bots with more health on refrag, as you actually get more feedback and I realized how bad my spray was (thought I was good before, not the case)

    Man your videos are so on point. You've just earned a new follower.
    I'm right now working through not being able to apply my aiming mechanics in-game and at the same time trying to figure out how to focus better. Thanks for the awesome content ❤
    I did a small reminder recap for myself to get back to before practicing and playing. Can you double-check it makes sense? I'm very systematic with my approach, please bare with it haha.
    So basically there are 2 components in the shooting technique aspect of dueling:
    - Aiming style (Speed aka MBM vs Precise aka smooth) which do different by whether you confirm before shooting or not. It varies based on the gun you're wielding, armor and current HP
    - Shooting mode (spray / burst / tap). It varies based on the distance of an engagement and it seems to be the only factor?
    So if we try to combine it goes like that:
    Close range - MBM + Spray / Pistol spam
    Mid range - MBM (using factors above) OR Smooth aim + Bursting. Question here is whether you go for smooth aiming with AK mid-range for example with certain fights?
    Far range - MBM (again using factors above) OR Smooth aim + tapping.
    I'm a little confused because most recent videos from reputable creators (like voo) say that the shooting style also depends on whether you commit to the fight or not. Pro VODs seem to tell me that as well.
    And when talking about day 1 (around 15:00) you're showing various distance spraying (even for long range) which kinda contradicts the approach that you should tap for long range. Thoughts?
    Sorry for the wall of text 😅

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому

      Nah no worries about the wall of text, youre pretty on point with it.
      If I were to add anything would be the other style of shooting that I very briefly mentioned in the video which is instaflicking into a spray (and then your spray is the microadjust)
      - Close range can always be MBM, but your most likely better off with instaflicking into spray
      - Voo is absolutely right in saying your aiming style depends on if your committing or not. There are alot of factors which can go into whether a technique is right or wrong for a given situation (if you have cover/Low HP/Guns your using/Enemies HP/Committing to fight or not/Across map macro plans) Its really hard to give an exact list of when to do each, especially since some of the "correct techniques" that you can use, can sometimes be a multiple ones for a given fight (example: Mid range rifle fight, you can MBM into a tap, insta flick into a spray, or smooth aim and spray, all are every effective
      - As for the 15:00 minute mark, im only spraying at a distance to increase the level of difficulty during practice to strictly improve recoil control. Most in game fights I would not spray at that range.

      @owlfury-beast 5 місяців тому +1

      @@samRi_cs cheers for the quick reply. It all makes sense now. The only question would be whether you would suggest using the routine and then reasonably autopiloting in-game in terms of those mechanics? So that we're basically relying on good practice, especially compound exercises where we apply all this stuff together. Or thinking proactively about those things in-game as well helped you to solve the puzzle?
      Just for some context:
      3.5k hours CS
      Voltaic general benchmarks - Plat
      Voltaic Valorant benchmarks - Diamond
      9.5k premier and I know my smokes and defaults. Basically kinda same "stuck" situation as you, but at a lower level haha. I should just be able to easily faceroll people.

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому

      Id say crossfire is your time to refine your reflexivity on when to use which technique for a given fight. And then whenever you are in game, you should pretty much be autopiloting 90% of what you do (except for things you are still in the process of learning) this should just be applied to every skill that can be improved upon, not just aim. And then when you are playing if you notice after a fight that you did the wrong technique, just recognize it as an error and keep pushin. Eventually, just like every other skill, you will no longer need to be conscious of which technique to use, it will be automatic. @@owlfury-beast

    I had kind of an inverse approach to building aim, I sunk most of my time into CS to build mechanics, and I'm just now discovering Kovaaks haha.
    I have found that Kovaaks is applicable though after 200 or so hours, you really have to dig through scenarios and understand what you're looking for, but you can find 90% of the same type of motions you'll be getting in CS, just minus the movement and recoil aspect, you're only getting the base level motions of mouse control you need in comparison to CS.
    I use Freeplay Mode a lot of the time and set my own personal benchmarks through different ideas I have in the moment rather than always score hunting and grinding playlists. For example, 200 targets while maintaining 70-80% accuracy or seeing how much volume I can put out within a time limit like 2min or something, and just kind of spamming out areas that feel awkward or weak. Basically using it as a volume tool to clean up the base level of mouse control.
    Beyond that though it's really only good to fine tune small isolated mechanics, nothing is going to beat training on something like Refrag where you can quite literally recreate the scenarios you struggle with and train them to get better.

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому +1

      I sort of agree, I would just put a bit more weight into the importance of using aim trainers. Whatever one being more beneficial is up to the individual and their own bottlenecks. It's hard to make blanket statements on Aim trainers VS In game routines, on which being better

I really like how you hyper focused on improving at varied scenarii that happen only in cs and I also noticed some of these scenarii not being trained in most routines. Like the long range fights. Voltaic really won't help your CS aim that much because it contains all sorts of aiming styles that aren't really relevant to CS. The only kovaaks scenes you need to play for CS (at least 98% of the time) are static and dynamic clicking scenarios that focus on accuracy. Check out some of the LG56 routines for static and dynamic, and maybe include some additional small-target flicking scenarios. I hit voltaic GM and didn't really get great aim in CS until I focused in on static and dynamic scenes with small targets, and prioritized accuracy over speed.
    That said, 50% or more of your warmup/aim training should happen in CS and not in aim trainers. Kovaaks is always supplemental to the game you're working on, even when you're only focused on aiming. GL

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому

      I agree to an extent. Its all about an individuals own bottle necks. If they are lacking in mouse control then they need some kovakks. If they are lacking in game mechanics they need an in game routine. it all depends on ones own bottle necks and if you automatically assume one style of aim practice is better, then you are missing the point.

    this is by far the best aim routine that is actually based in some rigor and understanding of training motor skills. How do you track the bot kill count tho? The thing about aim training in a third party program is the vast majority of your time training should still be in game rather than in the program like kovaaks for example. As well as the issue of aiming far to fast due to aim training since you are focused on getting a higher score but can simply reset the scenario while in game you only have the one chance to hit or you die. Playing in game allows you to make those connections between aim trainers to the game and are definitely an amazing tool when used properly and should not be discounted.

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому +1

      I agree with you mostly, except for the part that a majority of your aim training should be within game. I hold to the view that a majority of your training should be focused on on your bottlenecks, and if you bottlenecks lie outside the game (mouse control/tracking/etc) then you should spend a majority of time training there or vice versa. Blanket statements on which being better do not apply to everyone justly

      @@samRi_cs I agree with you and I was making a generalization but I find so many people spending hours playing aim trainers and then pug like 3 times a day and then wonder why they suck at the game still lol. You should obviously diagnose your issues and then fix them accordingly, its just imo most people don't know how to aim train and balance that with time in game so as a general rule of thumb its generally better to spend more time in the game than in an aim trainer. I'm new to FPS games and I know a flick not only needs to be accurate, but also fast.
    If my flicks are requiring micro adjusts, what's the right way to improve?
    At this moment it really feels like I can only be fast or be accurate, and I'm not sure what my priorities should be when trying to improve.
    Should I flick slower and then speed it up over time? Should I force myself to always flick fast and get more accurate over time? Should I like do a very slow practice flick to see how much my arm, wrist, and mouse move and then try and do that same flick as fast as I can with the intent to take the shot?
    I want to improve, but I'm concerned that if I don't practice the right way I won't get better or I won't improve as quickly as I could.

    • @samRi_cs
      @samRi_cs  5 місяців тому +1

      This is a copy and paste someone sent me before about flicks:
      "In terms of tension: the majority of aiming should usually be done with a relaxed grip, but you need tension for moments where you need speed like with flicking. There is however a difference between applying moderate tension and applying way too much force behind your flicks. You need way less tension than necessary for a flick. Experiment around with how little tension you need to do a proper flick without tensing too much/squeezing the living hell out of your arm. This can help a bit with overall tension control but also avoid causing you to (accidentally) accelerate so much that you overshoot.
      In terms of speed: people often over prioritize "snappiness" over having a fast, yet controlled flick. You want to push speed, but you want to be able to push a speed that you can consistently control. Which feeds into the third point.
      You do not want to use counter-tension for landings. Quite often people tense up for the flick, and then tense again at the end to try to make very abrupt 100-0 speed stops, but you should see flick-landings as a smooth deceleration. You want to let the friction of the mousepad do that for you. Tense only a little for the flick, ease that tension over the course of the flick and let the mousepad do the stopping for you for a smoother landing that can be easily chained into a micro, and you also end up with a more relaxed grip.
      Making your flicks too snappy can cause you to be unable to apply the deceleration, given you need to apply equal counter-force to stop said harsh speed. So try to not overdo the flickspeed too much as written in point 2. If you are overflicking a lot, then either your flick is too harsh, you aren't decelerating properly (AKA you are carrying on your flick-tension for too long instead of easing it out) or a combo of both affecting each other."

      With CS2, my focus has been more serious and I'm looking to improve, so this routine is going to help me a lot. @samRi_cs  2 місяці тому +2

      Hmmm, when it comes to aim degrading as you play throughout a session, the only couple of things I can think of could potentially be the following.
      - Maybe you're playing with too much tension during your sessions, and start to fatigue your arm/wrist/finger tips
      (Solution: Learn to obtain smoothness and low tension within your aim to avoid fatigue / Take breaks during session to let fatigue wear off / Or shorten your duration of gaming sessions) Long term goal would be to have low tension consistently when aiming, but even if you do obtain this you are still human and will need breaks, or a limit to how long you can play.
      - Another issue it could potentially be is degradation of mental focus (This can be pretty complicated to solve: could be potential tilt issues, lack of focus on what's important during matches, lack of breaks during sessions, too long of sessions, etc)
      Hope that helps, I would def be able to help more if I had more details on the issue, but those are a couple of solutions I can think of as of right now. The tension one is a pretty common issue.
      Heres the recoil commands, throw this in your autoexec
      alias +shootr "+attack;cl_crosshair_recoil true;"
      alias -shootr "-attack;cl_crosshair_recoil false;"
      bind mouse1 "+shootr"
      bind "2" "slot2; bind mouse1 +attack;"
      bind "1" "slot1; bind mouse1 +shootr;"

    when should i run these routines? at the end of a gaming sesh/before bed?

      Pref whenever your mind is fresh and you are able to focus on improvement. Most likely your mind will be tired at the end of a gaming session to try and focus for another hour and a half so thats probably not the best time. But if thats the only time you can do it, then your better off doing it than not. Timing throughout the day doesn't really matter much though, all up the individual
