if your gpu explode, this process is called Thermal Throttling, this is totally normal if you were to try this mod. Dont expect it to work after but atleast you get 10min of excitements
@@potassiumchloride2542 haha love this reply! i do have cardboard in my pc, however its inbetween two sheets of acrylic i used to make an rgb logo that is attached to the outside of my optical bay. so there is no risk of it getting even slightly hot, the hottest it will get is as hot as the ambient temp in my pc, and its only "temp"erary untill i get some white spray paint.
If you want smoother lighting try painting the front side white or silver first before applying the black paint, it'll definitely be alot brighter and even!👍
Omg the good old times! I remember your gpu backplate original video was one of your first videos and the first video I saw in your channel, back then you only had around 200 subs and I was only dreaming of building a pc, now you have 10k subs and I finally built my own pc! What a ride my friend, I'm so happy knowing you have grown so much in your UA-cam career! ♥
Your videos have inspired me to create my first PC mod and I wanted to thank you for that. In the last few years I have not been able to work and have been looking for a "hobby" in which I could utilise the skills I have. The feeling of "Job Satisfaction" is irreplaceable. You made this possible for me. I am in your debt, Sir.
Be careful man, this hobby will suck you right down the rabbit hole! There's such a huge learning curve, if you look at some of the stuff that's out there you'll realize I'm actually still a novice too :P
One of the best video for PC ethusiast who wants their PC to look amazing with rgb backplate and the accessories you showed is really g8 to follow that won't cost much. Thanks, for this amazing and lovely video. Kindly, keep up like this...
Great video, simple, direct to the point, and very useful, in many PC modding videos it takes for granted many details or simply doesn't explain how to paint every side, how use the vinyl in paint jobs and almost nobody explain how to get the right effect with led lights... I learn more in this 14 minutes video than in other longer videos i've seen... great job as always my friend... cheers!
Thank you dude that is awesome to hear! I put a lot of effort into trying to make a solid guide so it's great to hear it has helped some folks :D Yeah it took me a long time to figure out the best way to use LEDs too because there weren't any solid guides out there that I could find. Lots of trial and error
Found a different UA-camr that said that I had to paint my GPU black to make it run faster. I did it, but now it doesn't work anymore. Hope this guide is better
Thanks Dietec I dont know if you made this just because I asked but you listen to your fans a lot better than other youtubers thanks for the video its nice to have a full high quality tutorial for this you really are a dope artist :D
+Tres Gutierrez Thanks man! Yeah I actually do get a lot of ideas from the comments of videos. I made this video because I watched my old backplate tutorial and thought "wow I can do way better than that" lol. Glad ya found it useful :)
Awesome. If I were to do the RGB ones, I would probably put the RGB wiring on the other side and try to run it somewhere else through the case so it isn't visible.
RubenBot-- Don't feel bad dude, I see that danged icon regularly, and people are always saying the same thing, lol. Does make it kinda unforgettable though, hunh??
I’m going to finally build a gaming pc in a few months once I gather all the parts, definitely using this method for the GPU Backplate, thanks for the awesome in-depth tutorial!
I love this, I never thought about painting the other side. I usually layer the paint on one side which yields usually a good result but I really like the almost 3D effect you get. Great work on this video it was very high quality.
I see you're using some cheapo led strips. What are your experiences with the color reproduction? I've got one of them as well, but the supposed 'white' more resembles some weird shade of pink. :/
Definitely subbed. Was told backplating was a hassle from friends and not worth it. You made it look so easy. Will be busting out the wife's cricut soon. 5/7 would learn from again.
I love the folk music. Just like to chill at watch these videos on my phone while drinking coffee on my front porch overlooking the Appalachian mountains. Tech and nature, great combo
everybody needs a Cricut Vinyl cutter.. They do so much its insane. Im a recording engineer I print merch with it, Stickers, Metal tags for DIY audio projects. I can even print highly detailed tattoo stencils with it.. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it has yet to collect dust. Looove it. Great idea on this. This is my next project.
Aewsome video, after 5 years of building my first build, it's time for a update. However decided to keep my Corsair carbide 500r case, but will be modding it, side windows, acrylic panels, gpu covers, psu cover and you tutorial are great. I also decided to do RGB lighting, however there is so many variations to do so. Can you do a video on this, how it works and what you need. Anyway, can't wait for the next video, congrats on 11k subs, you deserve more.
That's some fine work there man. I was going to mount my GPU vertically because it looks cool but I think I'll do this instead and use the RGB lights to light it up. I think that would look way better than the vertical mounting.
Man can't wait to see your channel blow up, you have amazing skills which will definitely increase and reveal itself more once you can afford high end equipment! Do you have a laser cutter yet?
+BassHead Buddhist Ahh noo I don't have a laser cutter yet but, I'm going to get one as soon as I have some spare cash! I also want to get into custom water cooling but that's expensive too. I guess there's still a lot of room for me to grow huh :)
You have some really good ideas and I am going to try it out but it would be nice to see a functional one to help cool the card also!!! awesome job love it.

its not like this was much better either idk if its just me but the noise just gets annoying
HAHAHAHA I thought the same, I really enjoyed this country like or I don't know what is this type of music 😍
For a cheaper ghetto mod just make your backplate out of cardboard.
if it catches fire don't worry thats normal...
this is bad advice. very bad advice.

Not gonna lie. Is a very good introduction into PC modding. Steps you showed and pace make very simple to go , get these materials and do it yourself.

Wouldnt wet-sanding the clear acrylic panel make the lighting effect more noticeable?
