    He never changes, does he? And I think THAT'S one of the reasons people still love him (and the Cure, of course) Congrats to all who FINALLY made it in.

    Very humble. More artists should be like him.

    The Cure stole the show! I was there and they were fantastic!! Never underestimate their better halves. Their families were there. I'm sure the wives and girlfriends had a big say so in this!! Thanks to all the wives and partners!! I was very glad that they came!! What a night!!!

    I get what is going on in Roberts head here. He comes from a punk background. The Cure have always wanted to be outside of the mainstream. He seems both uncomfortable and honored. Im happy for them though regardless. 🖤

    This is great, I grew up listening to them. Not that this validates the Cure and decades of great music but It's certainly nice they are being acknowledged on this scale

    He is just perfect. As he said, “I couldn’t love you more.” I wish every artist was this humble, genuine, and charming. I got to see him last night at ACL and I wanted to get as close as I could but before them Billie Ellish was on the stage and there was no way I was subjecting myself to that crap. It was a magical 2 hours of pure Cure beauty. ❤️

    I get that The Cure is "alternative" and all that but Smith loves the music, and over the last years, he's discovered a lot of people love the music by The Cure even more than they used to. Now that rock is flat, what would be the point of standing back in the corner. The HOF is kinda of a scam but it is keeping stuff alive in a poisonous musical age. All the noise maker bands that stole the show are gone, and The Cure is still standing and sounding better than ever. Might as well take a big bow and thank the fans as well (and Smith always does)

    I love this guy he is so humble.
    But i feel he is the kind of guy if you asked him how are you he would go into a real deep long winded answer that would go on for an hour.

      I love The Cure, saw them live a few times but he looks like a crazy old bag lady. Theres a point where you have to give up those very distinct looks because they never look the same on someone when they're older. Much love to them.

      @@RubyTwilite It's a trademark! It wouldn't be the same, if he didn't do it. It's performance art!!

      There was a time, at the peak of this big messy hair and slash of lipstick look, when he came out on stage, in front of a sea of black clad, smudgy eyed, frizzy haired, sloppy red lipped clones, with a crew cut. I was there and I heard the gasp.

    • @jaiji
      @jaiji 5 років тому +11

      Because it’s his long established trademark performance image. Why does Angus Young wear a school uniform? Why does Keith Richards wear eyeliner and skull rings? Why do Kiss wear full black and white make up etc etc

    • @jaiji
      @jaiji 2 роки тому +1

      @David Hasselhoff true. I also listed Keith Richards - same for him: Keith always looks like Keith. Robert always looks like Robert. But… they are also images they have created
