The 1st time I heard Alexi, I was 14 years old back in 2000. The "Hate me" single was on a Nuclear Blast compilation album. It was promotional material for the bands upcoming album Follow the Reaper. I was a huge guitar nerd always looking for new players to listen to and learn from. When I played Hate Me the 1st time I immediately lost my shit when I heard it. I had never heard anyone play guitar like that. It literally changed my life musically and made me start taking guitar playing very seriously. Its been over 24 years and Alexi has remained my favorite guitarist this whole time. Follow the Reaper is my deserted island record. I never got tired of listening to it or jamming along with it. That record taught me so much about playing guitar and what was possible. I know there are tons of insane players nowadays that play above that level but back in 2000-2003ish it was absolutely in a league of it own. To me Alexi was THE baddest dude on Earth.

I will always consider Alexi my generation’s Randy Rhodes. I mean that in the best way possible. He influenced so many. He is a legend. I miss him.

I completely agree. That's a great comparison. I also think of him as the Dave Mustaine of our generation because of him being the frontman for the band. I remember hearing Dave talk about how impressive it was watching Alexi play and sing at the same time for the first time.

I saw Bodom 6 times. The final time I saw them was in 2016 here in my home state of Alabama. Never thought they'd come to Alabama! Rest in Power, Alexi!

First time that I heard Alexi. In the very early 2000's before we had internet in my house, I would to go to the store and buy GuitarWorld Magazine because it would come with a bunch of tabs for different songs and sometimes it would also have a DVD. I ended up getting one that had Alexi breaking down a bunch of different riffs like Chokehold. I was instantly blown away, and I still am 20 years later.

    eyyy our boy Erock.
Sadly I never got to see COB live, but Alexi (RIP) will always be one of my inspiration to get better at guitar, and will always hold the Bodom discography dear to me.

Oh man I really miss Alexi, he was such an amazing guitarist, I'm a huge Randy Rhoads fan, and this guitar is like a blend of Randy and Alexi! His riffs are amazing, the solos are perfect!

Man... no offense but this is not good, it doesn't convey the emotion, it's not angry-bleeding-depressive. Sorry but this is not representative of thw guy who became the reaper himself with his EMG-loaded sychtes... wish this would be good, but it's a total no-no, from the bodom of my heart.
