    It’s given me courage to begin orthodontic treatment with Invisalign as well. My teeth had been badly chipped from a fall in childhood - both front incisors have been capped with a bridge and crown for about 14 years now. Happy this has worked so well for you and honestly grateful for these videos. Stay blessed.

    I’m on tray #10 out of #28 and I’ve been watching your videos since I’ve first started, your videos are actually the reason why I decided to start! I’ve always had very crooked teeth and whenever I saw the change it did to yours, it gave me hope. I’ve noticed a slight difference, I’m still not able to smile confidently but I definitely feel the difference with my tongue, if that makes sense. I have an appointment next Monday to have more shots in my mouth to accelerate the process and will be switching trays every week, rather than every two. Dentist said everything should be fixed and perfect by February. Although the process is slow I’m hanging on to hope that soon I will have a nice smile and will finally be able to smile! Thank you for your videos 🙏

    I am 52 years old and have finally decided to do this for myself. My top teeth are pretty straight, but I had my front bottom tooth pulled out when I was 10...due to “potential” overcrowding. Found out when older it was cheaper pulling the tooth than getting braces...thanks mom. Now have a severely crooked tooth and gaps. I only wanted to do the bottom teeth, but to make sure my bite and everything aligns correctly will do top also. You are positive, funny, seem like a really nice guy, and your smile is beautiful. I watched all your videos and found them extremely informative and helpful. While researching Invisalign I was lucky enough to find your channel - and then have subsequently binge-watched much of your Invisalign journey! What an amazing transformation - not just in your smile but in your self-confidence, as well. Truly brilliant and inspirational. And then to find that you're also an awesome musician, singer and songwriter too is super-cool! I'm also a singer and songwriter considering orthodontic treatment. My dentist has told me that changing the shape of my teeth might alter my voice (feel a little worried he's trying to talk me out of orthodontic treatment which I've dreamt of having for years after experiencing similar self-consciousness and negative comments about my smile throughout my life). Can I ask you a question? Do you feel that your speaking voice and/or singing voice has changed at all since treatment? While you've mentioned lisping a little during treatment, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on how it has impacted on your voice (if at all). Please forgive me if this question has been asked before! Very best wishes and deep appreciation.

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  5 років тому +3

      Tonus Ten Hey - thanks for such a lovely comment :) And yes, I can certainly answer that. It is important to keep in mind that several big things happened in my life at once while this process was happening - namely becoming self-employed, spending more time outside, more time doing what I love and singing every day busking. I think you’ll agree my speaking voice has changed a little, but it’s in my vocal chords and how I’m using them, rather than any physiological change from my teeth being straightened. I don’t feel I have any residual lisp at all after the treatment, so I honestly believe Invisalign does not negatively impact your speaking or singing voice besides the weirdness of having to speak around two large-feeling pieces of plastic in your mouth. So I say get it with confidence - the human body is amazing at adapting. Not only will the lisp during treatment lessen very quickly, if there is anything amiss when it’s done, you’ll quickly learn to talk ‘around it’, in my opinion. Best of luck with it, and with your music too. Please keep in mind I don’t get notifications for replies, only new comments, so start a new comment if you have another question. Good luck! :)

    Hello from Melbourne, Australia! I'm a little late to the party, but I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for taking the time to film a diary and a review on Invisalign. My teeth are generally ok, but they are not as straight as I would like them to be, so I opted out for the treatment. Mine is projected to be 6 months. I just started it on Wednesday, so I'm on my tray 1 at the moment. While I'm yet to experience what you've discussed in your diary, I struggle a little with taking off the "grillz". Hi Justin, I've watched your entire Invisalign series and found all of your observations & comments very helpful - thank you so much! I have just started my own treatment and am on Day 4 of my first set of aligners - 34 more trays to go! I am having a bit of trouble removing the aligners as I have 10 attachments on my uppers and 6 on my lowers so when they are inserted they "snap" into place and don't want to be removed! I have no doubt, however, that with practice removal of the aligners will become less difficult with the passage of time. I believe that in one of your diary editions you said that it's never too late to have one's teeth straightened and I agree - I'm 71 and looking forward to my results! Cheers from Canada!

    Hi Justin! I'm in the very beginning of the journey hand in hand with visalign (haha, it's more like "v in my mouth", but well, hand in hand sounds more romantic). My previous orthodontist said to me that there is no way to get my teeth aligned without pulling out two of them, which I didn't want to do. And now, a year later I went to another doctor, who said that I can keep all my teeth but it'll take two years for me, even though my teeth are not that bad)))
    I'm gonna watch your diary, you inspire me a lot, I'm gonna need it!
    Thank you for all your videos and for telling your story to people!
    Greetings from France and Russia)

      Live Russian Hi Katya - two years without pulling teeth does sound like a lot, but they’re the professional dentists, not me :) Still, I’m glad to hear someone will do it while letting you keep all your teeth. Very best of luck - I do hope my diary videos help! Cheers, and greetings from England!

    • @LiveRussian
      @LiveRussian 5 років тому

      Thank you for such quick reply. The thing is that they wanted to pull two upeer wisdom teeth so the rest could move faster, but if we're keeping them, they have to be moved as well. I'm okay with two years, it's nothing compared to the lifetime )) I have good vibes thanks to you and your story, Justin! That's one of the greatest things you've done for people, it would be a crime to keep it just for yourself!

    dude i love this transformation. One of your videos was the inspiration i needed to go down to my orthodontic practice and get the ball rolling with my treatment. My orth-dentist has suggested jaw surgery to fix my overjet but im not doing this! At the end of my treatment it is predicted i will have a 5mm overjet. How many mm is your overjet? If i can achieve your smile ill be cheering!!! There were other options to extract teeth but the extraction left me with too much room and thus, im worried itll shrink my jaw and overal appearance. How much IPR did you get aswell? any info will be appreciated, Thankyou man!

    I'm curious about the refinement after the one year of treatment. Were your teeth not yet moved to the desired position? Or was it only for the goal of helping your gums? Also, could you elaborate a little bit about the situation with your gums?
    Thanks! 😊

    • @CatGoneCrazy
      @CatGoneCrazy  2 роки тому

      Hi - the refinement was primarily to ease the pressure on my gums by angling my teeth a little differently. This did indeed stop the gum recession, so I haven't any more problems so far, I'm pleased to say. However I do think my orthodontist wanted to reduce the overjet a little bit having seen how well the process had gone. I do think after the initial treatment, my teeth looked a bit 'big' in my mouth. I didn't actually finish the entirety of the refinement process as the diaries will show, but it was near enough and he made sure he was satisfied with my bite over a few visits before locking it in with the Vivera retainers.

      Shan Hasan My overjet was worse in the weeks prior to finishing because the last few trays brought them back in. You should have seen your Clincheck animation beforehand so there really shouldn’t be any surprises. Ask to see it again, and if you’re still unsure, ask about further IPR and refinements. Or otherwise the alternative is pulling teeth to make room, and another two years’ treatment. That’s just what I’ve learned from all this, I must stress I am not a trained medical professional, so ask your orthodontist. But honestly it’s far more likely it’s just a case if getting worse before they get better. Only the final tray is meant to look finished. Look at my videos before I finished the first course of treatment, and even when I did. They were moved further back with refinement so it can be done if you’re unhappy.

      It took a few weeks to see some movement. Each tray moves your teeth up to one third of a millimetre so it'll be some time before you notice a change. Don't forget, your orthodontist has a 'clincheck' animation that shows exactly how your teeth will look at every stage of the process, so just ask him/her if you can see it next time you have an appointment.
