    I'll give you some tips.
    1- Best relief is keeping ice cold water in your mouth specificaly wherever is most itchy. Huge relief!!!
    2- Pick a side and pull them out from the inner-side of your mouth on your wisdom teeth, and it easily peels off of your teeth.
    3- Try to keep ur upper and lower jaw seperated, the less ur trays touch each other, the less u feel ur teeth. I know it is kind of tough but by biting ur trays u make ur teeth and gum more alert and sensitive against pain. Not letting ur trays touch each other helps pretending that they r not there.
    4- In my case, on the 4th day (after the 3rd day of teeth, jaw and head aches) I realized it started to cause more pain to not to have them on. So try to keep them on as long as u can.
    5- Don't try to give your teeth a moment of relief by taking your trays out even for one second because your teeth lean more on going to where they were rather than stay where they r. So you would cause urself longer periods of pain in return of a second of relief.
    Peace ✌️ I hope ur experience is less painful and annoying than mine.

    Good tip, but i would do it at day 3 and 4 because day 1 and 2 will naturally have the widest gaps between attachment and molding, where as days 3 and 4 they are 'fitted in' a little more, and applying the pressing techniqe at this stage would better encourage the movement for days 5 and 6 of the new weekly aligner

    It’s impressive how you’ve taken the time to answer all these comments, and from people who aren’t even paying you. Very impressive. Bravo, and thanks! So, I figured I’d ask you one. :-)
    I have a top lateral incisor that doesn’t seem to be tracking (I know this tooth is notorious for not tracking). In my case, it’s not an incisor that needs to be pulled down. Rather, it’s tucked behind the central incisor, so it needs to kind of be twisted outwards (hard to explain in words; it has to move sideways and out). I’m guessing that, because the lateral incisor is pressed flatly against the central incisor, the tray doesn’t have much to grab.
    When I showed the gap to my orthodontist a couple weeks ago, he said it’s fine and that we’ll deal with it later. But here is what I’m wondering…
    If the tray isn’t moving this tooth and I keep changing trays regularly, at some point shouldn’t this create a bigger problem?
    I feel like either the tray should stop fitting or this lateral incisor will be forced farther back, even more out of place. Is this correct?
    Or is it possible that this tooth is actually moving but just not as much as it should?
    Sorry, I know it’s not easy to answer this without looking, but I’m curious to know what you’ve seen in your experience.
    Thanks in advance, doc!

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the question! You are correct, upper lateral incisors are tough to move. IMO, teeth should almost always track perfectly for treatment to progress properly. It's possible that there isn't enough space around the lateral incisor for it to move - we are commonly opening space around these teeth prior to moving them forward or rotating them. This means less friction to impede tooth movement. Hope this helps!

    My orthodontist (who is a top 1% diamond provider and has done 1,000s of cases in a large metropolitan city and glowing reviews) said to wear the retainers pretty much 24/7 even when eating and only take them off when brushing. Supposedly treatment only takes a few months vs 1-2 years. What do you think about that

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  4 роки тому +12

      Great question! It should not hurt the entire time. Usually patients have some initial discomfort that goes away within 7-10 days. Then you'll have a little discomfort every time that you switch to a new aligner, but that will only last a day or so. Some of our patients comment that they had zero discomfort or pain. Good luck!

      Thanks for the question and the shoutout! We are all for anything patients can do to maintain/improve "tracking" of the teeth in the aligners. Massaging works well. Chewies work well too. Anything and everything! There are some instances in which using Chewies may not be advised (eg - using them on back teeth in a patient with a lot of up & down overbite), but for the most part, they are great. Thanks again!

    Is it a big deal if one of the many attachments fall off? I assume it is case by case - I have many and it's hard to remember on the fly which teeth have it. I'm looking for it to get reattached but it's one of the tooth I rely on for eating towards the back of my mouth.
    Maybe I should switch to eating softer food.

      Thanks for the question! If you have an attachment come off, reach out to your orthodontist for further guidance. We'll have our patients text us a photo of their teeth missing the attachment, so we can decide whether it needs to be put back on. Most of the time, the answer is yes it does need to be replaced. Good luck!

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the question. It really depends on a few factors - what tooth the attachment was on, the specific movements that tooth has during treatment, and the importance of those movements relative to everything else that's going on. We do sometimes leave off attachments on teeth that have less complex movements.

      For almost all cases, you can't get the same results without attachments. They are critical to success with aligners. They don't ruin teeth as they are bonded to the enamel, then smoothed off at the end of treatment. The enamel is then polished and looks perfectly normal.
