What's Next for Al-Walaja: How You Can Help

Al-Walaja is a picturesque Palestinian village between Jerusalem and Bethlehem that lives under the constant specter of home demolitions. Since 1967, the Israeli authorities have refused to design and approve a zoning plan for the village, thus rendering it impossible to receive building permits in the part of the village that Jerusalem has annexed. The Israeli Supreme Court has stayed the demolition orders for 38 homes and the villagers have hired a planner who is preparing the plan. Still, demolitions continue in al-Walaja.
