Just one of many complimentary comments about this superb Devices and Desires series . Susannah York is an ageless wonder . She was a leading actress in the 1960s . This series was made in 1991 . She must be in her mid 50's - early 60's years of age here . She looks like she's in her mid 30s - to mid 40 years of age . Some people have all the luck, lol , sigh...
At 36:40 did Dalgliesh really say: "the victim's hair was damp, which suggests she died after her swim and not before it"?!?! :-) That is some incredible deduction Sherlock!! :-)
It is a true crime that any of the reactors were built instead of reactors fired by molten salts which would have avoided virtually the problems associated with these reactors at a fraction of the price.
12:48-"Have the Police got any leads?" "Yes, they found one behind the kitchen door!" Boom, boom, Basil Brush award to you, Phyllis Dorothy James, aka, Baroness James of Holland Park, aka, P.D.
It occurred to me al most since the beginning of this latest murder of Miss Roberts, that she was killed by a different murderer, made to look like the psychopath's style, but w a real motive.
Guilt. He fudged reports to cover up deadly errors at the nuclear station. Overwhelmed, probably sleepless, undernourished and dehydrated, he became confused and desperate with the prospect of total loss of job, career, friends, purpose: everything. He lost it. Jumped!
Beautifully photographed scenery, but the direction is infuriating. Hardly a scene lasts any length of time, some only seconds, before it switches to something else. It took about the first one and a half episodes to even fathom out who the various characters were. Good series somewhat spoiled.

Beautiful coastline. Gorgeous.
I just adore Gemma Jones!!! She is 20 odd years older now and still a beauty, a year older than me and I'm still cute!
Derek Shields 30 or 40 & much older looking now & much heavier. But I love her too!
I love Norfolk so its good fun identifying locations.
What a fine actor Tom Georgeson is...

Yes, I bet the murder of Miss R. was a quitt pro quo...
The book plot line depended on the Whistler being discovered
Wow...Toby suicide...never saw that coming!
CAUTION! SPOILERS INCLUDED IN THE COMMENTS BELOW! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE SERIES YET!
❤
somehow too much dead people and too constructed, compared to other Dalgliesh series, whitch I like a lot ... but well for a rainy winter day :))
This storyline is so ridiculously off.
This is my least favorite though I love this series...
The Subscribed Will Not Stay On !!
Where is episode 3?
No episode 3!!
I found episode 3
I’ve just watched it!
Maybe Toby killed himself after watching some of his scenes, and realized how much he over-acted in them.
😂
Did they ever explained why Toby killed himself. The whole thing including his behavior was uncalled for and unnecessary.

The book suggested he was conflicted by his bisexuality and a technical report Mair was dragging his heels on.

I love these uploads. However this series is BRUTAL to get through. This is VERY SLOW with too many characters. 🥱🥱🥱
