Back in 2006 I sold my boat dealership and by 2012 I even sold my personal boat and quit fishing. I started to get the itch again about 3 years ago. I found RGTFM and inspired me to buy a boat and start fishing again. No more tourneys…just for fun and freezer now! What an inspiration, WOOOOO! God Bless you Richard.
OK, I have the tools I need to catch them...now I need to find them! I have looked high and low for them this year and they seem to be one step ahead of me. I will learn, I WILL learn!
Thanks Richard for braving the cold just to make a video for us. And you caught some good fish for being right after a cold front. Love to fish, not so much in winter, especially the older I get. I have learned, you can put on insulated bibs or coveralls IF YOU TAKE EM WITH YOU !!! I've learned they don't do any good at home or sitting in the truck. I'd rather dress like Nanuk of the north and take stuff off if need be. Older, don't like colder. Thanks again brother for taking us again. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day my friend 🙏.
Hi Richard! My wife & I are originally from Alabama; she's from Guntersville, and I'm from Pelham. When I was young, my Dad would take me often Crappie fishing on Guntersville Lake/Scottsboro, Weiss Lake, and many other lakes in Alabama in the late 50s & 1960s. Sure do miss my Dad! Hope to come back around the Summer from Georgia to come visit-vacation in Alabama and fish Guntersville Lake again. My Dad and I back then would travel up to Guntersville and have an early morning Breakfast at "The Moonglow". My future Father-in-law and Mother-in-law who lived in Guntersville owned and operated a restaurant on the main street Guntersville back then, called "Lakeshore Restaurant". Thanks for all you do! HIS greatest Protection & Blessings to you and your loved ones this coming Christmas 2022 and throughout The 2023 New Year.
That first fish you caught is called a blacknose crappie, it's a black crappie with a recessive "GENE" causing the stripe. Love you and your videos, keep them coming, WHOOOO!!!
Y’all don’t understand how valuable Richards knowledge of fishing is. I swear I’d pay 5$ a video to watch his content. The Tennessee valley’s youth owes Richard endless praise
I love watching you Mr fishing machine and I put many of your techniques to work here in the show me State. But I would love to see your cold water catfish techniques please and thank you. God bless you and your family Sir.
I noticed the first crappie you caught with the black line down the head is a different subspecies of crappie. They are called Blacknose Crappie. Nice video
I bought 1000 of those black crappie with the stripe and put them in my 6 acre lake early this year. The hatchery that I bought them from called them Magnolia Crappie
That’s a hybrid crappie you bought. Magnolia crappie are mix between a female white crappie and male black crappie. I’m not sure but sounds like the magnolia crappie may be a massive crappie, I’m not sure though.
I fish mallard lake in Arkansas close to where I live. We use to catch a lot of those stripe nose crappies. I always really like the way they look. Some would even have the line under their chin.
Diggin the fact that you are efficient without the live scope and the minnows. Which there is nothing wrong using them but proves my point that you don’t always need them. As a avid artificial fisherman I love this video. Awesome job Richard!
Thank you for teaching technique and showing us what you know about the sport that is second to none. I had the opportunity to fish a little at work last night and caught 3 bass on a Bobby Garland crappie jig. In my defense it was a tiny pond and nobody fishes it. Again, Thank you Mr. Gene for all you do.
Thank you for doing what you do! My 3 year old and I watch your show every Saturday morning. You are his favorite show. He loves watching and always wants to fish for crappie.
That Magnolia Crappie was so pretty! Haven't caught one yet, but I hope to soon. That's what I've always heard the black stripe crappie called, a magnolia crappie.
thanks RG yet another outstanding video with information that WE can use. most guys on YT are doing nothing but useless LS video's and WE the vast majority will never use it. heck most of us don't use the electronics we do have! LOL I have Lowrance TI SI and yet never use it and I ketch more crappie than most and fish from bank or docks.
Mr Gene when I’m not bass fishing I like to fish for crappie and I use the under Spin pretty much all the time and it’s a catch all. Thanks for the video’s and Merry Christmas and be safe out there.
Great video and God bless you to, love watching your videos and love to hear it when you're given thanks to the Lord for everything. I'd like to see you kinda do a little walk threw on your boat set up just to get some pointers for mine. I noticed that you use a hand controlled trolling motor and have it mounted to a retractable mount, but I would like to know what size of trolling motor that is. Just wondering thanks again for the great content and for sharing. 🎣🎣
Our preacher spoke on 100 today thanks for the video
I would love to see some ice fishing videos. I know your an open water guy, but it would be cool to see Elmo on ice.
Thanks Richard , and God bless you and momma Sue. WOOOOOOO.
Beautiful black nose crappie Richard!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND!!
Watching your videos feels like I can watch every fishing trip my grandpa ever went on in his life.

Love them road runner jigs this time of year.. They catch everything, bass, bluegill, crappie, cats, perch..
The fishing machine should have a fund raising fish fry machine with all of the fish he catches. Golly!!
