Amazing coverage, great drive and a few scary moments, but i still think Ari Vatanen's run in the 405 T16 is the most exciting coverage of any run i've watched and what an engine sound from the peugeot!
I drove on this road a month ago and tried to make a video of the drop once you reach about 12,000 feet or so. That's crazy how he is able to maneuver at those speeds considering how sharp the turns are going uphill, I wasn't even able to able drive over 45mph lol. Wonder how fast he was driving though!
Yeah alhumdulilah! It was so beautiful and the drop while driving up was insane. I have some videos that I'll share once I'm finished with finals inshAllah. Maybe it'll convince you to come visit ;)
Salam. This is really great. Did u see inside helicopter I was flying? Hum dono Imad kay paas hain. First Ramadan ko aay thay. Tum lo kisi waqt raat main skype pur aajao.
Quite simply an awesome lap of the Pikes Peak Hillclimb. Every time I watch this, I'm out of breath from the adrenalin rush. 3 thumbs up. Good luck to break your record again in 2012.
If anyone is going to beat Loeb's new record, it's definitely Tajima. After watching both vids, Tajima has a command of the track. His lines are sharper, more aggressive. Sebastian's run felt a bit loose, even with his tremendous skill, he could have beaten his own time with more experience. I hope Tajima still has some gas left in his 60's to try again in 2014!
It went about two corners from the end 10:15 when the engine blew. Monster made the right hander, he didn't have the power steering and had to really pull that wheel to make the corner. It was spitting the coolant as he parked at the summit.
Very good eye sir, you are indeed correct. Found an article that said he "experienced a blown radiator and a sudden loss of power steering in the final leg". At 7:40 you can see a big red light in the top right of the dash which was not present before. 30 Seconds prior he did not have it there. At 7:38 you can see him look down at the dash, probably when the light went on.
Thinking of putting an order in for one of these. Was the audio editied at all for the outside shots? I have seen other vids with a lot of wind noise and you can't hear the engines. It sounds incredible in youre vid. Thanks for any replys.
Engine overheating at 7:20 in with the red light on the dash blazing as he climbs the mountain and finally spews the coolant 800 meters from the finish.
It's a special built Suzuki "Monster Sport" SX4 Pikes Peak Special with 910 HP. Nobuhiro "MONSTER" Tajima started competing in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1986 and in 2011, in the car he built and raced, at the age of 61 - broke the 10 minute mark!
@hereisthankappan the guy is from japan where they drive on right hand side of the road also steering wheel on the right so is used to shifting with left hand
@00jamesdeere00 Notice at about 2:45ish he doesn't clutch when shifting down, so I assume it has a sequential where the clutch is probably only used when starting and other low speed maneuvers. But then again, I'm just speculating.
The best Pikes Peak run will remain the Vatanen's one for a long time. When he broke the record in 405 he had the tires for dry dirt, and did a better time than the ofter after the middle of the race, in wet mud. Back then rally was REALLY impressive.
most race cars use sequential boxes (including Tajima's SX4) which are manual automatic, when down shifting (and up) the next gear is already pre engaged so there is no real need for a manual clutch. In short gear selection is manual and clutch is semi-automatic. There is loads of different configurations to them!
I ran the Pike's Peak Marathon in '92, but this a bit different. Rivers are rocking in New England, and my Hero3 (HumbleOutdoors w/free 32GBSD) is mounted on my kayak. The footage so far has been spectacular.
@kinderleinchen Pikes Peak (originally Pike's Peak) is a mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, 10 miles (16 km) west of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in El Paso County in the United States of America. Thank you wikipedia.
depending on the gearbox, if you are at a low rpm situation you can shift with out the clutch. If you have a car with more than 100.000km, try to take out 3rd gear with no clutch @ ~1700rpm. I can go from 2nd to 3rd and 4th with no clutch. I discovered it because i once forgot to press the clutch :P
This mad lad was 62 when he did this

To marry his daughter, first you must defeat his record.
nope
@Tao Pai Pai no.
only need 0,0001 sec
@@penonton4260 cheating on Dirt Rally doesn't count m8
Lol
Sebastien Loeb: MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That is me on the left at 10:35 !!!! My 2 seconds of fame!
JSP Broadcast congrats dude i amazed...
his power steering and water pump belt broke, at the end u can see the water temp on his dash. over 140 celcius.

just think how fast he would have been if he didn't have 40 pounds of go pro cameras😄
It's more like 0.4 pounds of cameras. Those things are tiny, that's their whole deal.
Loeb would made at least 30sec better time with this car, he had missed so many corners losing time here and there...
Bee: what is this thing?
*engines scream from behind*
bee: FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK

Best Pikes Peak run ever. The track was not fully solid surfaced when Tajima set the record. Loeb raced on fully asphalt. Big difference.
These are the greatest shots on that hill I have ever seen. Thank You! WoW
8:36,, oops
Awesome vid in HD. One of the best GoPro vids on youtube!
it over heated guys watch the red light on the dash otherwise he would have gone faster

I can't believe I sat through the whole video... my face was glued! epic

Finally a video worth watching!!! Edge of my seat man!!!
Can someone tell me for what the left pedal is? I dont think its a clutch pedal cause he´s not pushing it everytime he shifts...
Anti Kiddie Minecraft Let´s Player it is a clutch, don't use after 1st gear
+Anti Kiddie Minecraft Let´s Player It's a clutch pedal, used for first gear and clutch kick of course and in some cases for downshifting.
Engine overheating at 7:20 in with the red light on the dash blazing as he climbs the mountain and finally spews the coolant 800 meters from the finish.
@frantapolak It's the #1 Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special built specifically for to break the Pikes Peak Hill Climb record.

@MurdererzRow Please note, The Monster aka Nobuhiro Tajima is 61 years of age. And has been racing at Pikes Peak since 1992.
is there a front bumper only version? I d love to see all these corners from the 1st person view.
@hereisthankappan the guy is from japan where they drive on right hand side of the road also steering wheel on the right so is used to shifting with left hand
@LivVilaVida Do you guys get the pikes peak track in GT5? Still waiting for Turn to add it in to Forza 4.
Amazing This Video From the GoPro
what is that thing at 3:10 ?? it's so awesome !!
@00jamesdeere00 Notice at about 2:45ish he doesn't clutch when shifting down, so I assume it has a sequential where the clutch is probably only used when starting and other low speed maneuvers. But then again, I'm just speculating.
yeah i've heard of that but in this case it looks really specific and consistent that he goes down without the clutch and then up with it.
Nice run. What is the flying thing at 3:16? I would love to have one of those!
cool sound & beautifull pictures ...congratulation for the record
I can't watch this video without these songs! :)

Happy Birthday Monster!
車体に頑張ろう日本って書いてあってとても嬉しいです!本当に世界のみなさんは優しいと感じました。

What settings were the GoPro's put on?
I remember watching monster tajima race on tv as a kid aaages ago. Still at it!
@MaxCruise73 Agreed, it normally takes 45mins to over an hour the get to the top and its a crazy road.
The best Pikes Peak run will remain the Vatanen's one for a long time. When he broke the record in 405 he had the tires for dry dirt, and did a better time than the ofter after the middle of the race, in wet mud. Back then rally was REALLY impressive.

bravo go pro !
bravo au pilote.

@FoozerDC is that part real?
@kinderleinchen Pikes Peak (originally Pike's Peak) is a mountain in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, 10 miles (16 km) west of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in El Paso County in the United States of America.
Thank you wikipedia.

That hill looks sick, anyone know were it is?
@YmePt The escudo is the previous one, this is a SX4.
@famousadio did you even watch it all the way threw?...
Would like to see what time U make on gravel road like in time 405 T16 ;)
how come he downshifts without the clutch but then upshifts with it? what kind of gearbox is that? ridiculously awesome driving though
talk about skillz. it took me 18 minutes on my camaro, this guy makes me feel like an old man. Props and Kudos Taj.
wha'ts the name of this flying thing at 3:12 ? )
love the shot with the bee in front of the camera
8'13'878 WORLD RECORD 2013, thx you Loeb !!!
Since the air gets thinner as he goes up, does that mean he gets less and less power?
these guys along with drifters and plain rally'ers are the BEST drivers in the worlds hands down.
What camera mount was being used at 5:00?
how else do u think i get to work on tom?
how many gopros did it take to make this
did his power steering go out at the end?
Message to everyone. Play your own music. its more enjoyable :D
I have to ask. What beautiful car is this?
que calidad tienen esas cámaras!
Insane. How long does that route usually take under normal driving conditions?
@6:47, why no drift around that corner? I'm just confused.

Wow what a course! I purchased a Hero3 black edition (HumbleOutdoors w/free 32GB SD) and plan to take diving videos in the Hawaii next week.
