  • Today I have the less popular Note 20, the plastic one. The screen is still glass, and you wouldn't be watching this video if that glass wasn't broken, would you? Part used is a display preinstalled into a frame assembly. This is the most cost and time efficient repair, replacing display only is a lot more work and runs the risk of falling off if done improperly. Links to parts and tools below:

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  Місяць тому

      There's a few tricks like using a thin rubber band between the screw head and driver bit to create friction. The best method is taking a dremel tool and cutting the screw into a flathead that you can then remove.

    Hello, I successfully did these steps but did manage to lose the little watch battery labeled J50 at 1:58 of this video. I cannot find anywhere on the internet the size / type of battery that would be needed to replace the lost one. Any chance you happen to know or have that information available. Seems like a rare issue to have but I would greatly appreciate any help!

      Oh no! That's your vibration motor actually! I've gone ahead and added a link in the video description for a replacement motor, they are pretty cheap thankfully. You can also find similar ones on eBay, thankfully Samsung uses this same motor in other phones like the S8, S9 and a few others.

    Hello, my brother, I have a problem with the

      When the camera app is open or no? If it isn't opened, yes you can hear the camera shake inside the phone, this is normal as the stabilizer isn't active and the camera is "floating" inside. If this happens when the camera app is open, your stabilizer is burning out and you need a new camera.

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  8 місяців тому +1

      It’s possible, check that the battery connector is fully connected, lift it off first to check the board connector for any bent pins or anything weird. And make sure the wireless charger coil is also fully connected as it has a temperature sensor that can disable all types of charging if it isn’t connected all the way.

    • @TapticDigital

    • @TapticDigital

      Absolutely! I do this quite often, sometimes customers have two of the same phone and parts can be combined to get one working, which ends up cheaper for them!

      @@colonial4ever2 glad to hear it! My hope with this channel was being able to save people some money if they are willing to do their own repairs. One bit of advice, don't use a lot of heat on the back panel because it's plastic and can warp and deform from too much heat. Using just alcohol and a pry tool is totally fine for this model.

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  Рік тому +1

      It sure is, you replace the screen and frame as one piece. This is how most Samsung replacement parts are sold. If you're doing just the display, you'll likely have no water or dust resistance, and it's liable to fall off over time.

  • @hassandarwish8407

    When I change the screen to an authorized Samsung center Does the phone lose its water resistance feature?

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  Рік тому

      Yes, any time the phone is cracked and repaired it loses its water resistance certification, it will still be water resistant, but I wouldn't recommend testing that

    You didn't show it all how to replace the screen all you did was take the the phone apart and put the guts back in the back you didn't show how to replace the screen on the front

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  6 місяців тому +1

      That’s how you repair it, the replacement part is a new screen and housing already fused together. Tearing the display off the frame takes longer and means potential for more damage, there’s also the likelihood that the display will fall off if it isn’t glued properly, so it’s much wiser to just replace it with a new display and frame combo. It’s in the video title.

    Hi my note 20 stop responding to touch same with the finger print, only the spen works. Is it possible it's just the main lcd flex that's bad? Or do i need to change the full screen?
    *The screen is not crack neither did it fall

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  6 місяців тому +1

      I would try either updating or factory resetting first, it is very rare for a digitizer only to fail. The S pen uses a separate layer so it makes sense that it still works, but if resetting fails you would need to replace the entire display.

      @@TapticDigital ok thanks. The display flickers too, when I opened it I had to support underneath the main flex with a piece of paper to get it stable a bit. That's why I thought it was a flex issue. But is it common that the note 20 just stops responding to touch? Have you encountered this before?

      New screen at 3:31, like the title and description state this is a display pre-installed in a new frame. Doing a replacement of the display only isn't advised, it will lack water and dust resistance and is far more likely to separate from general use.
