I just left a comment on the older guide, and I just gotta say it again: thank you so much for making an ACTUAL guide vs. the majority of the "guides" on UA-cam that not only don't explain the process, but also don't explain what tools they are using. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for your kind words! To be absolutely frank with you though, I can't take the credit for it as I partially benefit from spreading this knowledge.
Also, it still has some ways to go as the repair is harder than it looks as mentioned in the video and many do find it to be difficult. I'd have to say curved Samsung phones are the most difficult compared to flat display phones and other makes.
With the upcoming iPhone tutorials, I'm going to be a bit more giving in that I'm also going to show how to do the glass only replacement even without the tools & accessories we've developed.
Any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us.
Best regards,
great video, but went to order for my s22 ultra and used the discount code and says my selection does not qualify. Web Page displays discount code is good till 10/2. today is Sunday the 1st. not sure why.
This is actually great. No clue why these kinds of repairs are less popular. Instead of paying 200 bucks for a completely new screen and completely replacing the oled and glass.
Because it's not worth the time and the risk of potentially breaking the screen while just replacing the glass. So is more simple to just replace the screen instead
@@SuperMoni14 Well looking more into it I've found lasers which specifically target the glue between the glass and screen. That should make this whole process a whole lot easier and the costs you save on just getting a new screen is quite significant.
Yes it greate until u breake the oled 😂
@@azzlack0699 I mean yeah sure and opening up your phone to repair it is great until your damage the motherboard. Everything has risks?
No only that but the old screens can be sold to a refurbishing shop and recirculated.
Wow! You are awesome! Incredible detail, you point out things to watch out for. This is one of the BEST self help videos I've watched. And now i know why stores charge so much to replace the glass. Thank you!!!

This makes me so happy thank you for this!
I like how your guides also work with other branded items, ut you still sell your items, its showing us that you want some profit, but you are ok with people using other branded items
Broke my screen this morning. Dammit.
This looks like the best kit out right now, just ordered one!
I really enjoyed watching this video thank you Ron
This was much better then all the rest I watched you explained things very well thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words!
nice will be checking your store out
Just wanted to leave a comment that I ordered this for my s10+ and gave it a try. I'm familiar with all other kinds of phone repairs but this is the one that's made me anxious the most. I busted my digitizer BUT it was my own fault. Like the start of the video mentions, it was not hot enough so I couldn't tell how/far the blade was fitting between the frame. I use the heat sticker but even then it's kinda tough using a blowdryer. I had full blast it directly on top to see it start changing colors, then rush to try and get in. If digitizers were more affordable, I'd love to give this another try!
Did you have success with the kit? I have the same phone as you
Just ordered your universal kit. Look forward to the finished product!
what happened?
Holy s**t! You guys are simply fantastic and awesome at innovation within the diy screen repair scene!
Thank you for your kind words.
There is going to be a new video coming up before the weekend where we show a new way to do the gluing so the phone does not need to be opened prior to. I am excited to share it!

@@ecdiy Did you make this video?
Could you guys make a video specific to the pixel 6? I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks again!
Not a problem at all! Thank you so much for your kind words.
If you are interested, we actually have a video for the Pixel 3~6! Check it out and if you have any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Just attempted this with my Pixel 4a 5g and ended up damaging the LCD in the process. The oca blade and wire technique worked great as far as I could tell. I'm not entirely sure what went wrong. The most likely culprit seems to be that the very bottom area of the screen has a slight overhang without any support from the rest of the phone. Unfortunately that's also right where the stiff material that forms the OLED panel is the weakest. There aren't any pixels there and the wiring appears unharmed, but a little bit of the material did chip off. Could also be excess heat or maybe damage from using too much isopropyl alcohol. Regardless, great tools. Thanks for the tutorial. Glad I at least attempted to save the OLED panel before ordering a new one.
Hello Ian,
Thank you for taking your time to comment.
I am sorry to hear your experience did not go as smoothly as we have hoped. Would you by any chance have a photo of the display so we can take a look and see where it could have gone wrong?
For Google Pixel phones, it is worth noting that the glass removal should be done with the display off the phone. Please kindly note that this is highlighted in our listing description section.
You would place the display glass side down on the gel pad and use the wire tool.

@@ecdiy Thanks, yah I'll send a photo to the email listed on your website. Hopefully my mistake can help others.
I totally missed that there were any changes to the process for pixel phones. What you're saying makes sense now.
I'm a beginner to phone repair though, so it's not a big surprise that I didn't manage something tricky like this the first time. It just seemed like such a waste to throw out a perfectly good oled panel without trying to save it.
That's the spirit! Good luck with your future repairs.
If a chunk of glass is missing from the lower left corner can you use this to your advantage? Possibly starting to separate the display glass from that point? This is on a galaxy s10 I can clearly see what I assumed be the next layer in the display. It is flexible...
What size is the thin metal string? Could you please help me?
I'm looking to fit a new glass to my s10e. Watched your video(all good) but not sure about glue around the camera area. Can you clear that up for me. Keep up with the great videos. thanks
holy cow, up until today I had only seen repairs that required the replacement of the entire display which cost more than the phone was even worth! My S9+ is eligible for a $400 trade in only if the glass is not cracked, otherwise T-Mobile will only give me $13!
The use of UV curing glue is awesome.
Where are your products to purchase under what name I need to repair the same. But also having problems with games and such the screen won't let me touch in certain spots does this mean the screen beneath is bad? Looked up the videos on having to take everything apart and not sure I can put it back together well. While I have mechanical skills on a car these little parts worry me
Is the glue method also working with a note 9? All videos i found they used this vacuum(?) machines.
THANK YOU SOO MUCHHH!!!!
NOT A PROBLEM AT ALLL!!!!
I was gonna attempt this myself but I know for a fact I would fuq it up. Found a guy on ebay to do it for 79. Worth it to me to not take the chance on me screwing up life.
this was extremely well made
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Really well researched and quality content. it really works!
I need to do this ASAP. Shops are requiring that I buy a new LCD. BTW are you saying that the IP68 prevents me from having to open the back of the phone? Does the tape stay on permanently or do we slip it out?
Merry Christmas!
Great video and technique for DIY. For people that have patience and a steady hand and don't want to pay others to do it, it's haven sent. I'm looking to buy the kit as it will be invaluable for future repairs, but I don't see the double-sided black round pad in the kit.

@ECDiy shame:))) I saw this after I wrote the question. I'm looking forward to using your kits.
I hope I pay more attention when I am repairing:)))

I honestly thought this would be more difficult. I am gonna have to practice since I have several cracked and broken displays laying around
Are these kits available in the UK?
Sadly, even if you manage to get the glass off, the most proper way to put the nw glass on, is by luminating it with a machine (together with the phone of course. ) Two problems with the loca glue : 1- It will come loose eventually, and form bubbles . 2 - When you hold the phone up to the light, you can see that the glued surface has some waves (because the glue will not spill in a straight line. That would be hard to achieve).
I think this repair is aimed towards the cost effectiveness rather than cosmetic perfection. Some ppl see this as an absolute win and some may not. Nonetheless, it is an option to fix cracked screens.

I have a Quick question about the Samsung S10. You briefly meantion removing the back glass to take the front facing camera out. I didn't see much on that. Would it be the same process as removing the front by using the blade? If I ordered the s10 front glass repair kit, does it include everything required to remove the back glass?
Hello Steven,
Thank you for your comment!
The process for the back glass is simpler than the front glass as the adhesive is only along the edges.
You can use the sharper corners on the back of the blade to slice through the adhesive layer and remove the back glass.
The kit does indeed include everything required to remove the back glass, as well as a new back glass tape adhesive to re-install the back glass.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Best regards,
what glue you use is this applicable on curve lcd thankyou for your response
Thank you for your comment.
I'm certainly biased in answering this but the brand we use is Stronghold. LOCA stands for Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive, there are several options but please kindly note many LOCAs require a separate UV lamp to cure. (Ours is specially formulated to by hypersensitive to UV, so much so that exposure to daylight on a cloudy winter day is enough to cure the glue. I'd also like to note that ours can also be cured with a UV light).
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.

Will this work for an amoled display like the tab s7+?

Best regards,
Bro you go through the video speeding and it's so hard to follow through, you make it seem so easy and don't stress enough how easy it is to cut the display instead of the glue, I just rekt my screen
I really hope this kit works. I broke my screen during firefighter training this Sunday, and now I have to use an old phone to hold me over.
I bought it and I can say hats off to nanyone who can do this without damaging the screen. I think they make money on false hopes. I would love to see an uncut video where this is done 👎
Hello Kalman,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am very sorry to hear that it did not go as smoothly as we had hoped.
As our business started with the aim of providing affordable screen replacements, receiving feedback from customers who encounter difficulties is something we take seriously. It motivates us to continue innovating and making repairs easier. Would you be willing to share with us where things went wrong? This information could be helpful in assisting others to avoid similar situations.
We may offer to issue you a full refund even though some of the items have been used. However, I would like to note that while the tools may differ, the fundamental concept behind our kit is essentially the same as what you find in other repair videos on UA-cam.
The gel pad, sticker thermometer and a hairdryer/heat gun are substitutes for the heated suction pad machine used by others. We understand that having that equipment can be more efficient. Although refurbishing a screen is a lot more delicate process, it can be compared to assembling furniture with a screwdriver instead of a drill.
The only thing that differs is the initial separation. You may see others using a rotary tool to cut the glass around the corners to initiate the glass separation with the wire tool. This not only means an additional equipment is required, but in my opinion it's also not something that can be done successfully without training.
With our method, the OCA blade is curled up and leaned back so that the tip is touching the underside of the glass and heat is applied to soften the adhesive holding the glass to the OLED thereby allowing the initial separation to take place as mentioned in the video.
If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us.
Hey guys! Since the google Pixel 6 is so popular and a lot of broken glasses here, could you do an short video on that ? I also buy the pixel 6 kit now from you guys.
I’m buying the kit for the pixel 6 as well, really hope they make a video specific to that phone.
I think you would have to go to forums for the Pixel 6 for that because those videos for the Pixel 6 are almost non existent in UA-cam because Pixels are not that popular compared to Samsungs and Apples.
It looks like you guys thought of nearly everything to make this repair as easy and successful as possible. I have 2 questions. Does the wire tool come with the kit? And how do I know how much LOCA to put on the display?
Thank you for your kind words!
We continue to improve the kit as well! More on this below but to answer your questions: Yes, the wire tool is included with the kit and the amount of LOCA required for the model is listed on our latest tips & tricks page the address to which we print on a slip included in each kit.
The latest update to the kit is a clear camera hole cover film which all you'd need to do is press to seal over the camera hole area prior to gluing. This eliminates the need for back glass removal as well as the front camera removal.
Currently, it is only being provided on a request basis at no extra cost and no negative feedback has been received. It is briefly featured in our Pixel how-to video as well as the latest Samsung shorts video, but we will be making a full video for this soon. With this, you wouldn't have to open the phone at all.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further.

I purchased the kit for the galaxy s20 ultra a few hours ago. Informing myself as much as I can to avoid damaging my phone when I eventually attempt to follow your great tutorial. I had a question regarding the front camera removal. I saw that in order to remove the camera, there are several components I have to remove in order to be able to access it. This means that I would have to disassemble it, remove the camera, reassemble, glue front glass, then go through the steps to insert the camera in again? Is the camera removal strictly necessary? Also I saw in another video that there is adhesive I need to cut through in order to physically remove the camera. Does the kit include said adhesive as well? Sorry about the essay I'm making you read!
Hello,
Thank you for taking your time to comment!
I apologize for the delay in my response. Yes, for an S20 Ultra, you'd want to remove the front camera prior to gluing. We do include the IP68 back glass tape adhesive with the kit which is the adhesive that needs to be sliced to open the phone.
As for the steps involved, you would want to remove the front glass first, then the back glass (You can use the back of the OCA blade for slicing the tape adhesive), remove the front camera, do the gluing process then re-assemble using the new tape adhesive included in the kit.
Is it strictly necessary? That depends on whether you want the front camera to be as clear as before. Removal of the front camera is done prior to gluing on these phones because the glue would flow into the hole for the camera. The phone will function fine regardless.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further/contact us! I'm happy to help.
Best regards,
Greetings, do you have any video on how to change both the front and rear of an s20 or rather the detailed steps?
Hello Edgar,
Thank you for your comment! I am very sorry for the delay in my reply.
We did not go in detail with the back glass removal as they're relatively straight forward and there are quite a few videos covering that topic extensively.
In short, you can use our OCA blade to slice the back glass adhesive also and remove the back.
For the front, you'd refer to this video.

Hello, nice video. I have an a52 with a cracked screen. The new glass already has oca-glue(says the discription). Should i also use the glue you use and why? Regards
Technically, pre-installed OCA can be stacked with LOCA.
Even if the OCA were to make contact with the glass somewhere before the LOCA, LOCA will fill up to the area seamlessly.
This additional thickness does not cause touch issues even with a tempered glass screen protector. That's been my finding on my end at least.
If you are interested, I should be able to find you an A52 front glass without the OCA film.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further.
Cheers,
can you please make a video for Pixel 6?
Hey ECDiy just an ideas! If you could have a background picture of the glue application so people can trace the application would be really helpful!
This is actually a really neat idea! Because it's not too difficult to spread the glue using the method outlined in the video, I hadn't put too much thought into the exact pattern of the glue dispensing but I'm sure it exists. I will look into it further.
Thank you for the suggestion!

Old method gold ❤
will your method and your tool work with an s7 edge ? I cant find a video of s7 glass repair that they dont remove the back glass. will mess the battery up or something with the heat?
Yes it will. S7 Edge can indeed be done without removing the back glass using this method. We also have have the custom IP 68 seal tape made for S7 edge as well as the older models.
We have not experienced damage to the battery due to the heat. When the display is heated, the battery's temperature changes a lot less due to the fact the heat is dissipated rather quickly by the solid aluminum frame not to mention there is a layer of adhesive insulating the battery from physically touching the display panel.

For pixel phones would be highly appreciated.
what kind of glue did you use bro? because I see that you didnt use a pressure machine or another machine to eliminate possible buubles in the screen
Can you do this on a a52s? And p20 pro?
Hello. Im a little confused about gluing the screen, specifically camera on an S10, you said "dispense 2 drops on the OTHER side of the camera" should i just do like you did and glue the camera or is there more?
You would typically do it just like I did and dispense a couple droplets of glue on the other side (other side being the opposite sound of where the glue would spread from)
However, we have finished developing a clear camera hole cover film which all you'd need to do is press to seal over the camera hole area prior to gluing. This eliminates the need for back glass removal as well as the front camera removal!

So on the Note10+ you need more glue on the top?
What about the glue going to the ear port or speaker.
On the Note 10+ and for all phones with a camera hole where the hole is physical, (for some of the newer devices, the "hole" is simply a clear piece of glass/plastic) yes, it is advised that you dispense a drop or two of the adhesive directly on the opposite side from the center of the phone/from the flow of the glue.
Should some glue find its way to the ear port/speaker you can clean it afterwards using isopropyl alcohol & Q-tip or a toothbrush.

Hello! I have a Poco F2 Pro with the cracked glass (it works perfectly, but the corner of the outside glass is cracked). Do you think it's fixable? I don't know if there are differences between the screens.
Thanks!
This, I'm sorry but I'm not sure. I have not tried it myself but if you ever see someone using a wire tool to do the glass replacement, our method would also work.
Best regards,
Amazing, i have One question. What is the thickness of the wire?
0.06mm is what I prefer to use.
I have motorola edge 2020 with 90° can you separated the glass ?
Nice post, good job . Will you fix mine?
Maybe! I do pick people at random and fix their phone. What phone do you have?
4:19 what do you mena by we need to remove the camera? My phone is s10 5g which has camera is under the screen as you explained. So does that mean that i will need to take the camera out and glue it, then put the camera back again? Im afraid if the glue will seep into the hole where i took the camera off..
Also, in 4:45, u said put two drops of the glue on the other side of the camera, but as I explained above, after taking the camera out, wouldn't glue would seep into the motherboard?
Lastly, the ip 68 tape you have developed, explained in 4:29, do I keep it on and glue the glass on the display, or do I take it off before I put the glass?
While we finished developing a camera hole film cover for other phones, we do not have it for S10 5G at the moment so yes, in your case you would remove the back to remove the front camera prior to gluing as shown in our video.
Due to the surface tension and cohesive force of the glue, sometimes the glue can indeed fill around the camera hole without going in there (you'd want to dispense a small droplet or two around the far side of the opening - like shown in this video and our iPhone 14 Pro ). However, as this doesn't happen every time, so we recommend just removing the back glass and the camera prior to gluing.
If any glue gets on the underside of the front camera area, you'd use isopropyl alcohol and Q-tip to clean the underside prior to assembling.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to comment further.
Have a great rest of the day.
@@ecdiy for 4:45, can i use B7000 glue for adhesive instead? How do you think about the OCA adhesive film? Do you think it will make the process easier?
Hey, so sorry. For some reason I did not receive a notification when you replied. No, B-7000 is not optically clear, nor is it spec'd for this repair otherwise.
OCA adhesive film does make it easier for Samsung phones but OCA does require special equipment such as a laminator which uses heat and vacuum, and a bubble remover which uses heat and positive pressure.
When it comes to iPhones and Pixels though, I'd say LOCA is easier and beginner friendly.

hello does it work with find x3 pro?
you don't sell the screen but i found it, and the oca machine is so expansive...
Hello Ro Da
Thank you for taking your time to comment.
Yes, this method will work on a X3 Pro as well. Although the process requires care for all devices, the concept for the glass removal process is universal: Modern touchscreens have the layers/components assembled using OCA (Optically Clear Adhesive). The glue we use is simply the liquid version of it.
Our OCA Blade tool is the same thickness as the wire tool, which you see many professionals on UA-cam using to do the glass separation.
As long as the tool is touching the underside of the front glass as it is being inserted into the display area, and heat is applied to soften the OCA layer, you will be able to remove the front glass.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.

This is really a tricky work. Given mine to a service for 150 Bucks.
hi, i saw you using Paper towel and Isopropyl alcohol to wipe the inner screen, does that not scratch the phone badly ? Paper towel is abrasive isn't it. Because actually i wiped my s20 ultra (the glass) and it has a lot of fine scratches from it ( spiral pattern ) as i wiped it spirally ... I found paper towel scratches more compared to just using cotton shirt. Sometimes with IPA , sometimes water
Hello,
Thank you for your comment. I haven't noticed this being an issue personally. You mentioned the paper towel scratched the glass, but it may have just been smudges being spread around.
A clean cloth is indeed really good for picking up the last bit of smudges as well.
We do include microfiber cloth for the final wipes but until that point, have not had an issue with paper towel.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.
Best regards,
Is the oca blade reusable or is it done after one repair ?
The OCA blade is indeed re-usable. Using it with the wire tool as shown here, it would be good for many devices (easily over a dozen).
Please do kindly note that, pushing it when there is not enough heat can cause the tool to flex and when this happens many times, the tool can experience this thing called metal fatigue and slowly start losing its effectiveness. When used properly, you can easily do 3~4 devices with 1 OCA blade even with the OCA blade only method.

You can use the kit with dry ice and freeze the display instead but please note that when it comes to freezing, there is definitely a learning curve with it. I know in videos it seems like once you freeze it, you can just twist/pop it off but it is a very delicate process nonetheless.
There is a good video that explains about the downsides of freezing. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/9MS4zG4blo4/v-deo.html
You also need to disassemble the device and remove the battery prior to.

Tssss even with enough heat, the screen blamed out. Now I gotta for sure replace it
Hello I have watched and listened, I have samsung s10e screen glass need to be replaced and said in video if camera is in screen I need to remove front camera?
Yes, and no.
Yes because, typically you'd need to remove the back to remove the front camera prior to gluing.
However, we have finished developing a clear camera hole cover film which all you'd need to do is press to seal over the camera hole area prior to gluing. This has been briefly shown in the S22 shorts video as well as the Pixel long form video but this eliminates the need for back glass removal as well as the front camera removal. Currently, it is only being provided on a request basis and no negative feedback has been received.
It is being included free of charge on request basis. If you happen to be interested, simply send us a message once the order has been placed and we will have it included free of charge.
Best regards,
Just ordered for a note 9, we'll see how it goes
I didn't see a kit for galaxy s20 fe 5g. Does the kit for galaxy s20 works for the FE
Hello Arjan,
We have the listing for the S20 FE available now and you can place the order. It is found with the other S20/S21 models.

Is the glass you're selling the same one used in the S10+? (Corning Gorilla Glass 6)
We purchase our glass as originals, but to our understanding, it is not possible to confirm that it is indeed Gorilla glass even with a spectroradiometer and the brand does not participate in authenticating parts nor do they sell the glass part on their own.
Our glass is made of aluminosilicate glass which is technically speaking, what Gorilla glass is but what also makes it difficult to confirm is that between different generations of Gorilla glass, it's not just the chemical composition that has changed, but the manufacturing process that reduces defects. (All glass products, like diamonds, have tiny microscopic defects).
However, we have done various tests including break tests to know that our glass is comparable to the original take-off. Most glasses found online these days are soda lime glass, or low iron soda lime glass made to look like aluminosilicate glass and there is a big price difference.
If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Thank you for showing me you have to be nuts to try to do this yourself.

Hi,
I understand removing the front facing camera before gluing the new glass on, so that the glue doesn't dribble onto the lens.
But isn't glue just gonna dribble into the void left by the removed camera?, and also dry in that position on the glass, causing focus problems when we re assemble? Or do we dab the camera hole with iso on a cotton tip? But then wouldn't that eat the glue and wick into the glue?
Also, I don't get the point of the stickers? We put them on the display, then glue the glass over the top, then try and pull them out after the glue is spread? I noticed the new camera spot things in the new vid and I don't get if that is the intention with them too?
Thanks
Typically, yes you would need to clean the underside of the camera hole area with a Q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.
However, we have finished developing a clear camera hole cover film which all you'd need to do is press to seal over the camera hole area prior to gluing. This eliminates the need for back glass removal as well as the front camera removal!
We have been providing it on a request basis at no extra cost for the past 4 months and no negative feedback has been received!
As for the stickers, it ensures dust/debris/water do not seep in to the internals. The internals are sealed from under the display on the sides on all phones via IP68 tape adhesive (Some phones the top is sealed from the underside also) You do not pull them out after the glue is spread.

Thankyou!, so you leave the stickers in place then? They won't be visible through the glass? And we leave the camera dot as well? I think I understand now.
I got my kit off you before you started doing that and I haven't bit the bullet yet because I was busy in summer but planning on attempting soon, I need to remove the back glass anyway because that is broken.
@@mhale71 That is correct. The stickers stay in place. They are placed behind the bezel (the black border of the front glass) so it is not visible.
The camera dot, yes that is correct. you would leave it in there.

Hey there. Quick question. Do you have an idea on how long will it take to get to Colombia?

To Colombia, looking at some of the recent orders shipped there you are looking at about 12~14 business days (roughly 2.5 weeks).

Best regards,
I think for buying a s 10 with a broken touch screen but the lcd is working i am but there is not much big of a crack on the glass so i am wondering can it be motherboard problem for not having touch screen or the lcd is faulty?
I suppose it can technically be a motherboard problem but to this day, we have not come across a phone with such problem.
For us, and our customers so far, every phone that has had a touch issue had been due to the digitizer layer being damaged which is a part of the display assembly (referring to the Front glass + digitizer + AMOLED/LCD "sandwich" shown in the diagram in the video)

How did it go?
@@Semystic This didn't age well I'm sorry! Two weeks past my own due date 😅😅😅 Life got in the way. On it during the next couple days I promise! Thanks for reminding me
@@TristanVash38 Cool cool! I'm considering attempting this myself lol
@@Semystic My repair failed (Finally attempted). I can do hardware repairs on GPU's but not phones, apparently. :( Good luck to others! Good product to give us a chance to do it ourselves so no fault of ECDiy. I'm not really sure why, but a slow heat up with a heat gun at the top of the Galaxy S20 FE on a microphone boom, waited until 80C, let it set for a few more seconds with a constant waving of the phone slowly and in a stable fashion, getting the blade in there was tough, and the hair width metal tool didn't want to get in there because the opening has to be correct or it will look like a sine wave. After a few more slow attempts at the top to get enough of an opening, the razor and the digitizer decided to meet somehow, green lines down the screen. I wanted to shove my fist through the table. Removed the glass/digitizer/screen. Ordered a new front. Gave it my shot.
Do I have to disassemble the phone and take out the front camera on samsung s22 Ultra? Or can I just simply remove the glass and glue it by letting it spread by its own weight? And when you said to put two drops of glue on the other side of the camera, you mean to out two drops on the camera lense for devices that don't have a hole for the camera?
The two drops on the 'other side' referring to above the camera area for S22 Ultra as glue spreading from the center will not make it across the hole (most if not all will eventually get filled via via capillary action, if you leave it long enough but dispensing 2 droplets make it a lot easier). We used the term "other side" as cameras for S10/S10+ are in the corner, the side opposite from where the glue will be spreading from.
We'll have a video on this soon but S22 Ultra, the camera removal requires patience with isopropyl alcohol & heat. It can take a few minutes for the isopropyl alcohol to soften the adhesive holding the camera but you can dispense the alcohol there by soaking the ends of a Q-tip and squeezing it out over the camera.
We do have a film that we developed which you can place over the area before gluing. It's featured briefly in our pixel video here (ua-cam.com/video/KFkvo5-wzBI/v-deo.html&feature=shares&t=261). Let us know if you are interested as we can provide it to you at no cost with our kit. This will eliminate the need for disassembly also but you can see the outline of it when the screen is not on.

Best regards,
@@ecdiy So, with the protecrive film I will not have to disassemble the back to take the camera out? And in the case that I dont have the film for the camera, on a samsung s22 ultra, would I have to disassemble the back and take it out? And last question, would a regular hair dryer work to dry the glue on the glass to take it out? Is it easier to take out the glass with heat or with isopropyl alcohol?
What adhesive dd you use
It is called Stronghold LOCA. LOCA stands for Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive, there are several options but please kindly note many LOCAs require a separate UV lamp to cure. Ours is specially formulated to be hypersensitive to UV, so much so that exposure to daylight on a cloudy winter day is enough to cure the glue. Other parameters such as contractility, tensile strength and viscosity have all been fine tuned over the years for optimum results.
Please note there are a few sellers infringing on our trademark, Stronghold LOCA is developed by us and is exclusive to us.

Can you please show how to remove the front facing camera in s20/s21 etc. that is needed when replacing the front glass?
Hello Steven,
Thank you for your comment.
It is definitely something I am considering for the future, but we just might be able to eliminate the need for front camera removal altogether! In the new Pixel video that will be uploaded in a few hours, the new accessory that would allow for this would be revealed. Spoiler alert: It's probably going to be one of those 'oh man that was so obvious' moments.
For now though, I'd say take a look at one of the 'teardown' videos on UA-cam, there are a few for each model and most explain the process pretty well. I'm also happy to send you a direct link if you are able to let me know which phone you are working on specifically.

Can I use a thread instead of the wire tool?
Unfortunately, no threads would be either too thick, or too fragile to use for this application.

Tutorial for pixel 6? Would be awesome
This
one question, does these kinds of repair will help with dead touchscreen zones?
For any display issues including touch issues, unfortunately you'd need to replace the display as a whole. Replacing the glass layer will not resolve the issue.

Best regards,
While trying this my first time on an s20 fe, I destroyed my display when prying it up. How do I pry up correctly in the future? When the levarage, which layer to be on, etc? Or should I just take the screen off in the future, or use a dremel like I see in other videos? Thank you so much!
Hello Andrew,
I am very sorry to hear your experience did not go as smoothly as we've hoped.
I haven't experienced display damage during the prying process on our end, but I suppose it is possible if there wasn't enough heat applied to soften the adhesive? I can see how the layers of the display could be strained/pulled without the adhesive being softened.
Would you by any chance be able to provide us with a photo of the device so we can better assess what may have happened?

Do you have a kit for Samsung Galaxy A8?
Unfortunately no, not at the moment but we do offer a universal kit (pretty much all the contents of a regular kit minus the glass; glass to be sourced on the customer's end. There are a couple of sellers selling the replacement for A8 on eBay for example)

With glue do you use? B-7000?
B-7000 is not optically clear, and it will not work for this application.

Plan to do this on my note 8. I dont have a heat gun. Would just a hair dryer work?
While you can do the repair with a hair dryer, depending on the model it can take a long time to get the display heated enough.
Bringing the nozzle close to the phone helps speed up the heating (but not too close as it can lead to the hairdryer overheating) but ultimately, we recommend using a heat gun.

Are the cracks in bezel also removed when replacing the front glass? And are small hairline crack near the bottom screen touching the bezel a cause of concern for changing the screen?...my device is a51 5g
Hello,
I'm so sorry for the delay. Not sure how I missed it but to answer your question, the bezel is actually a part of the glass that has a black coating on the underside.
So yes, the cracks in the bezel are also removed when replacing the front glass and hairline crack at the bottom, no I wouldn't say it is a cause for a concern using this method as the wire would be gliding under the glass and slicing the adhesive layer.
Any further questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us/comment further.

@@ecdiy oh thanks for the reply 😊....by the way I meant to ask that if I only have a small hairline crack near the screen extending to bezel is it necessary to change glass?
@@fataldestiny5097 Not a problem at all. It is the least I can do.
Ahh I see, thank you for your clarification.
Cracked screens are more susceptible to further damage as the structural integrity of the layer which is ultimately protecting the soft display layer is greatly compromised but I wouldn't say a cracked screen repair is a 'necessary' repair in any case.
It honestly comes down to a personal choice based on risk/reward.
