How to Stop Being Lazy | MEDITATIONS | Fr Gavan Jennings

- The seventh and final deadly sin is sloth, and it's a tricky one being a sin of omission. Not getting up at the first alarm, procrastinating on tasks, not caring about things or people. These things can be sinful or lead us to sin, and it's helpful to watch out for them.

This is my actual primary sin. Fulfilling my daily physical, mental and spiritual duties. The main problem is when you don't want to make your timetable of activities spending your time without compromises. This is a self-deceit rooted in pride... to spend our time as if it belonged to ourselves. Our time is given to us by God to serve him on every aspect of our lives.
All the Angels, and Saints, Saint Joseph, Jesus, and Mary train me to defeat and rid all laziness and sloth from my life forever. Amen.
Oh this is so me! The fear of effort and sheer boredom sometimes drives me into diversion. I feel I could have done much more during Lent, yet it isn't too late for anyone one of us. Let's get going folks!
Amen.
That's one of the most useful lessons I've ever had not even kidding. Thank you so much Fr. Jennings. God bless you.
You're so welcome!
I struggle daily with this....
God bless you in this cross.
I am so grateful to find this “accidentally” - I can’t unhear it and I can’t ignore it now. St. Josemaria says “do it NOW!” and I can count on him to cheer me on without acknowledging my excuses. Thank you, Lord - and Fr. Jennings and Called to More! 3 Hail Marys for you!
Thank you, Father Gavan! I needed to hear this. Prayers for you and all of our clergy throughout the world! God bless.
You are very welcome. Bless you!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Perfect timing Fr Gavan!! Thank you
You're so welcome!
Thank you! This is my cross! You have given me the clarity to see it and the conviction to fight it! Thank you 🙏🏻
You are so welcome.
Thank you ! I like how you said being lazy is a Lack of… it makes so much sense. Lack of love at the end, God gives us a smile so pure and joy. Sometimes you can excuse yourself, and can be real that you are depressed, but to say no to giving your hand to Him and your heart and dont wake up is another thing, just no give up and play with the brokenhearted, God is working all the time.
Thank you so much for your beautiful meditation so much needed at this time. Bless you. ❤
You are so welcome, glad it was helpful Jacinta!
I would really like to know how to distinguish between sloth, clinical depression, and chronic fatigue.
95% is sloth.
Thank you Fr Gavan for your simple explanation , hopefully by the grace off God I will push myself, especially for morning Mass ❤
You can do it!
Man, this is convicting. My job right now is very slow, but if anything this is the calm before the storm. I've been trying to prepare myself, especially since I haven't used this particular skillset in a year and have gotten rusty, but I get distracted all too easily with Instagram and UA-cam. Please pray for me
This is my predominant fault. Thank you father for sharing this and please pray for us.
Praying for you.
Thank you very much for this video! God bless you
You're very welcome!

You are so welcome. Praying for you.
this has taken over me, i literally have not done anything everyday for the past 7 years of my life, i also feel so guilty bc i feel like im mocking god's mercy, like im presuming that ill have time to repent, and i know that that kind of false hope is abominable to the eyes of God, but im just so indolent, so cynical, and what also kills me is how deliberately i choose sin, how consciously and how freely i give in to sin, please help me
Hello, I relate so much to what you say. I’ve neglected so many of my duties and have almost exhausted all the distractions I have. There is a part of me that is scared to care because I used to care very much and it backfired so badly that I just can’t go back to that. I’m so scared that thing will happen again and I barely made it out again and recovered. Let’s pray for each other ok? Surely God will see that we want to care.
@@ABB14-11 yes, thank you
Pray for me too 😥 it's so tough to break old habits, but with God, all is possible.
@@mariaandia3364 Maria! Lily! Let’s pray for each other everyday until Easter to break this stronghold of sloth so we can serve God fully 😄 I have faith God will help us
Oh, that's me too! You have explained it so well...I too need help, and was getting tired of myself being so negligent...then suddenly this popped out! I want to be free, I want to be free from social media too... I pray that we all break out of the bondage through the finished work of the Cross where Jesus shed His precious blood for us out of Love ! Amen!
So true. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I’m facing this feeling right now, I think I was meant to find this video today so I go and do what I know I should do rather than go take a nap 💤
Praise God, glad it could help Paul!
Ennui. I've been guilty of it. For ages.
Wow this is very clarifying.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I really need this. Thank you, Father. I hope there will be more on this in detail.
We might go into more detail in an episode of Little by Little.
I needed this fr
God bless you.
Actually, feeding a dog IS a duty.
