  • Some tips on hand building a turnout. I had one more turnout to build for the Romley area. But I did not have the right Fast Tracks jig to do it. So I have been putting it off. It can be done but it takes a little more work. I will tell you some tips on doing this. [ Bonus Content ]
Dad has been doing a lot of cleaning up around the Train Layout.
I removed the temporary track running through Romley Colorado. And I have been able to start hand laying the track in this area. Really want to finish off the scenery here.
    Thanks for watching!

Always good to see one of your videos show up. Fun to watch as always. Love that you are hand laying switches and track. I have the Fast track jigs and plan on building switches for my next layout. Thanks for sharing.

I just got my Micro Mark MicroLux mini table saw today in the mail, so I've been cutting HO scale lumber all day. Your layout is coming along quite splendidly. Cheers from eastern TB

Rather than pinning the rail an alternative option might be super or hot gluing it to the paper in a few spots with slots for a few key ties cut out so you can place them underneath for soldering after you have glued the rails in the correct position on the paper. Even better if you create a notch which ties can be put into and be flush with the surface on which the template sits. Downside is you would need to get the glued paper off once done and each "template" only can be used once but less worry that you will somehow muck up the gauging after you have got it right or when soldering.
