Also a huge amount of creatures probably get killed in wars that have nothing to do with the war just because they are in bomb range and stuff, and that kind of disaster is always caused by selfish human whims. I know there are also a lot of good ones, but it seems rare that one is good enough and powerful enough at the same time to just stop the senseless violence and destruction.

Not to be that guy but I'm gonna Nerd Mode on this one. In the Lego Club Magazine Comics it was actually revealed that it was the Power Crystals that were to blame. While being an incredibly potent and powerful alternative energy source that while not a Fossil Fuel was theoretically Finite, they appear to have been a completely unnatural and foreign substance of unknown origin. Almost certainly of Alien Origin from the distant Galaxy and alien planet light years away as seen in Power Miner's Predecessor Rock Raiders. These Crystal mosy likely layer dormant underground for centuries after presumably crash-landing on earth in prehistoric times likely a cataclysm. Over time and through intense hear and pressure they may have mutated the leftover fossilized remains and strands of DNA and RNA leftover from the countless unknown extinct life forms on the planet at the time of the initial impact, and brought them back to life ehile infusing them into the very soil and minerals and combined with the massive energy the Power Crystals produce, created Lava Monsters at the Earth Mantle and Outer Core. Eventually over presumably millions of years, these Lava Monsters began to spread to the depths if the Earth's Crust and those cooled and formed the Rock Monsters. The Crystal King probably being among the oldest if not the first as indicated by it's role as a leader and alpha of the species, even developing more complex sentience and self awareness. This was probably achieved through first contact with the Power Crystals. Eventually over the course of the modern era the Rock Monsters would discover and spread the information and usage of Power Crystals all the way back to the Epicenter of their habitat and to the Lava Monsters. And so by developing a reliance upon this new energy source they came to need for survival, created shock waves and tremors from beyond where they naturally form inside the planet. But through the capturing and forcibly draining or at least causing the controled usage of the Rock and Lava monster by having them move around to burn off the excess energy, they shock waves could be dampened and the vibrations weakened to a less hazardous level. And introduced them to organic matter and man made food to retrain them. The Lava Monsters in particular were the most difficult as their molten bodies and home environment was beyond the normal reaches of the Crust and would melt through or crush anything with the intense pressure. So using the process of refinining sheddings from the Rock Monster's bodies and imfusing the energy from power crystals, were able to produce a lava proof alloy they could wear and use to coat their mining vehicles and tools to enable them to use a liquid Nitrogen cooling agent to calm down rhe lava monsters. And witg their new diet of regular food and no longer addicted to the Power Crystals, the tremors stopped and the Power Miners only need to check on the monsters regularly and resupply them food from the surface.
