@@Cold_Frost41 where on earth is the lego store you're going to? this series is around 12 years old now. most lego stores don't keep product past a year lmao
Sales. When sets sit on store shelves, stores don't request new batches from LEGO. LEGO prints batches of boxes according to predicted demand. If they over predict, they end up with some sets still waiting on shelves for over a year after LEGO filled their last box. People didn't buy these as much as they bought Star Wars. LEGO original series' are always competing with stuff like LEGO Star Wars. When the parent asks them what they want for Christmas or their birthday, the kid usually says Star Wars. It's why Ninjago was seen as so successful. It went on for so long, and sets were still being sold in high numbers. LEGO Mars explorers was also an epic but short lived series. There was massive online minigame and advertising effort for LEGO Atlantis. It was advertised in LEGO Club magazines months before I could even see a set on shelves. LEGO puts a hell of a lot of work into trying to sell new series'. So when they don't sell LEGO can truly say, "well it wasn't very profitable".
@@Scp-682- sure, could be. I can't prove/disprove that. But LEGO decided they didn't have enough new ideas for a 4th wave, and/or that sales of the first or second wave weren't as good as they'd hoped, or weren't as good as they wanted to justify putting effort into another wave. It could be they had another series of sets sitting on the shelf ready to go, and they predicted better sales on that. LEGO Chima was right around the corner. It's also entirely possible LEGO has half a wave of Power Miners set designs sitting in the Secret service archives that were ready for a 5th wave. But remember too, any new waves would have been designed and ready probably around the time the first wave launched. At least the first two waves were already designed before LEGO started advertising Power miners. Almost every LEGO Chima set was already designed by the time the first boxes arrived on shelves. For any combination of the above reasons, LEGO made the decision, they'd make more money on a new series. LEGO knows their own independent series rarely compete with film/story deals. Like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurassic World.
Awesome collection! Glad to see more people are getting into power miners. I recently completed the collection and I have them on display right next to me!
Awesome lego series. Super disappointed when they were discontinued, however you’ve built the rock wrecker wrong. I don’t know what’s wrong with it, but mine always worked. The top heats connected perfectly with the bottom and turned easily. It looks so cool when it it’s actually going. Was actually my first set of the series to. Just wanted to let you know that there’s something wrong with it there as it’s actually an awesome set that does work as intended.
I was just about to post that the blades do spin via the wheels truning them and the bottom blades interlocking woth the top ones like gears but thankfully you told him and now there is certainty
Amazing collection, I had the thunder driller as a child and now I’m 18 and have started buying some of these of eBay. Never had the titanium command rig but I do now though! And it is beautiful P.S. The rock wrecker blades do spin but you have them aligned wrong, I’d suggest rebuilding it as the blades should press against the rubber tires and spin
That is sweet your getting the sets you didn't have, I did some of that too. And thanks for the advice I will go rebuild the Rock Wrecker and get it working :)
Power Miners was INCREDIBLE!! This video made me realize that I actually had WAY more of these sets than I realized! It was mainly the more expensive ones that I didn't have, like the Crystal Sweeper and Titanium Command Rig, but I do DISTINCTLY remember that massive gear from the Underground Mining Station! Sadly, my Dad forced me to sell them all when I was younger, but hopefully I'll be able to build my collection back up again! These sets truly are amazing!!
Something beautiful what it's like to live my childhood dream. There are a few sets missing for my full collection, I think I will buy them after many years.
I just now realized how "big" collection I have, even though I never collected lego. When I was a kid the power miners just started, I got Stone chopper, Mine mech, Thunder driller (my favorite), Boulder blaster and Fire blaster. I got those as a sets. After some years parents bought me and my brother a big pile of random lego (sold by its weight) and luckily the guy that sold it was a fan of ninjago and power miners. My power miners collection got bigger, I found the second Thunder driller, Claw digger, Crystal king, Rock wrecker, Cave crusher (I never knew this set existed before) and Magma mech. Sadly, the most exciting sets to me (such as Crystal sweeper) weren't there, so I had to build my own mobile HQ from pieces of the second Thunder driller and other random parts. I'm still happy with the results :)
It’s 2:32 but you just woke up my childhood. This series needs to come back. I loved these as a kid. Too bad the lava series got so expensive. But man did I collect as many as I could. The claw digger was amazing, and the thunder driller so fun. So many memories of these sets as a kid.
Favorite lego series by far. I always have had a fascination with heavy machinery (especially mining equipment), so this series effectively scratched that itch. Just wish there was more!
3:02 From what I can recall they are all supposed to spin as the vehicle moves. But the blades on yours aren’t positioned properly yet. I think the bottom blades are supposed to collide with some of the wheels at the bottom and collide with the blades on top like gears to make them spin.
This so nostalgic for me. Thank you so much for this video. 😄😁 When I was a kid, I asked my mom to buy the lego movie Adventures of Clutch Powers from a movie store. I then saw the commercials on and the one that I loved and desired the most was the Power Miners. After that I started collecting small to medium lego sets. Sadly I wasn't able to find a power miner set of any kind during my childhood and now I have stopped collecting any legos because I lost interest in it. 😢
Great Video. It really brings back my childhood memories. I still remember how i lost one of those rock monsters when i was a child and to this day it is the only thing that i have never found.
Damn I loved this series! I had that drill base, motorcycle, small mech, water mech and a drill machine, still remember how happy i was back in a day, these were great cars with a very nice functionality. Miss those days :(
Why cant lego continue with as epic series as this The quality of the first ninjago sets, power miners and Orcs vs knights (whatever the name of that was) was just amazing Today LEGo just leaves out parts and rejects the possibilities of the increase in part variation
This was my childhood, my Mom's friends son had 5 of these sets and he was moving out so they gave them to me when I was 6, and it still has a deep place in my heart
I miss this series so much. It was the only way you could get tons of those little crystals without going to a special retailer; the sets were a great way to get both technic pieces and regular pieces. This and Dino Attack were great sets... I wish Lego would bring back awesome sets like these every so often you know? Older sets deserve a reinstallment from time to time for the older and younger fans to enjoy.
What a neat line! My flatmate had a few (I remember the Mine Mech, Crystal Sweeper and the Thunder Driller) but he sold them for drug money! LOL Not sure that we ever got the 2nd wave in NZ.. I love the Thunder Blaster's dynamite thrower and the various claws for grabbing rock monsters. I like the industrial aesthetic too.. sort of reminds me of agricultural equipment wih a futuristic touch. But we were both more into Agents around that time. My flatmate had even the big sets (he had more money than me). My favourite line are City construction vehicles. (Back before they scaled them down.. they're just a bit too small now) I had a big mobile crane and that giant Bulldozer from around 2010.
This was such an amazing series, was so excited whenever I got one as a kid. Unfortunately most of the few I had are now in pieces in ‘the bin’. Great video, got me wanting to complete the series. Ps, I’m sure others have mentioned this but the front blades on, I think it was the crusher, are supposed to spin while in motion
When I was little this was my favorite series but I never got any of the sets because these sets were just too expensive for my parents to get me. I remember going to my friends houses and they literally had all of them. Jesus this took me back.
I feel sorry for the rock and lava monsters, so I buy them up and give them sanctuary. I have hundreds by now. Particularly Infernox is treated cruelly if instructions are followed (being dwarf-tossed into a water tank, which denatures him to Meltrox).
I would love to see you review some alternate builds of the Power Miners sets, the Rock Watchman and Blast Roller are really interesting but there are no videos about them!
Bruh, this was my favorite lego theme as a kid. The crystal sweeper was the best present I got from my favorite christmas of all time, and for years the Titanium Command Rig was the one lego set I always wanted, but unfortunately I was never able to get it
It sure is! I got the crystal sweeper for Christmas too. And I had buy the titanium command rig now that I’m an adult, I wanted it my whole childhood too.

Funny, That was the first time I got a motorcycle as well. It's still my only one actually. I don't have as much nostalgia for Power Miners, compered to Rock Raiders.
