imagine waking up and hearing the birds chirp and breathing the clean air and having some fresh fruit smoothie for breakfast and drinking clean water.
it is my reality and it is worth the pursuit.
Ahh Maine I love thee
I’m fortunate, that is the way I wake in the mornings. I live in a tiny tiny one room home in the Vienna Woods and every morning is a glorious cacophony of birdsong and on windy days the constant sway of trees and the Sound of the wind moving through them.
@@ianmedium you’re so lucky
That lake water isn't drinkable. Learn about water!!!
My grandfather was an architect and for retirement he designed himself a modern "treehouse" on the Oregon Coast on a cliff looking over the ocean. This reminds me so much of that. I miss that home it was so magical to visit there. The pacific northwest is magical, and it doesn't surprise me that another architect wanted to build a similar home for themselves. Great video :)
Imagine how incredible it is here when it rains
i can feel it, very deep vibes, gloomy , sad ,serenity, foggy, romance & mystic All mix together also when you see the window and look at the rain fallin with a cup of tea/coffee/wine thinking about mystery of life.
I bought a block of land similar to this about 5 yrs ago (without the beach, just bush) Many aspects of this house is what I dream of building so I had a big smile on my face watching this. Waking up to the birds chirping, nestled amongst the trees, either doing yoga on the balcony or snuggled up on a comfortable hammock chair sipping coffee. I dream of that everyday. Bliss.
i want to cry at how beautiful this house on the lakefront is
don't cry. be harmony
+River Klain Not a lake. It's on Puget Sound.
cry me a river, ...
If only the presentation were more artsy-fartsy-pretentious. Cry? No way. Retch? Close.
As soon as I heard this treehouse was facing south, it made me think about the sunlight that the house would get from morning until early afternoon :-). Places (esp. when it comes to getting an apartment in Korea) facing south are most preferred and it was great to hear about what Mr. Olson learned during his studies abroad. Thank you, Nowness, for all these amazing clips and narrations!
Every builder must know south-facing advantages, no?
@@enblanchard5492 just do it..can not try....oh no..
Would have loved to have seen the house. Instead of glimpses of a corner.
you didnt underestand the film then
@@guillermotaylor6506 you don't understand life you dense cabbage.
@@heisenberg9616 no I dont... Im really far away from understanding life, and Im pretty sure most people dont understand life either.
What I do understand is this little film we´ve just watched
Detail.
@Guillermo Taylor Heinsberg’s probably a Teenager. Thanks for showing patience with him
His dad gave him 500 dollars in 1958 (he was born in 1940) and that’s approximately 4,525 usd right now lol.
Thats what I was wondering when he mentioned that
Why isn't anyone talking bout this detail 😭
Awsome
And he's currently worth $500 million.
@@musk4mars116 yep 😭 he sounded so casual as if 500 was a small sum of money for a teenager
I remember first reading about this house .. a natural accretion of pavilions over the years
.. beautiful place, beautiful structures
Beautiful. I love the silver wood walls surrounding the bed. What a little jewel of a room. Very well done film as well. A+ work for everyone.
I love the moods you all create with the music, lighting and angles, but I really needed to see more of this space! It looked interesting from what I peeped.
Jim Olson is one of the finest architects and i love his sense of simplicity.
I always dreamed of getting home and atmosphere like this
It’s all about nature and look out such a amazing natural environment. I genuinely think this is one of the most memorial way of living...
video made my morning shine! How lucky to live there! Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love this site!
103 years of property kept in the family! That’s amazing!
I love and have read snippets about this house, its origin and organic growth over the years
I thought I was going to finally get a glimpse of the original nucleus
The bgm and the colour tone undermines greatly how beautiful of a house this is
Blessed are the ones who lives like this in this world
I just added you coz I feel like we have something in common in buildings, love the way you place each piece of this structure
A tour and some discussion about the details of the house would have been amazing. Nice video and home overall.
This is everyone's dream... The surroundings, the place and the house it was perfect.. Superb! 🏡 💯👌
Jim is a legend.. love his company's work and design
My favorite part was the newspaper (what’s a newspaper?) blowing open and off. imperfect & “retro”.
Oliver Burke : yes but I don’t think it was recycled naturally organic paper and full of nasty print chemicals.
Great atmosphere. Images of being inside the house on a rainy night, Miles Davis playing in the background and your pizza just arrived.
Simply complex yes completely beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with me!
Great time capsule and story of the legacy and the journey from the past to the present into the future. Thanks guys for sharing
Perfect living environment
Beautiful! This place is amazing! I could easily lose myself over there... forever!
I love it. The music, also amazing.
Beautiful! Being one with nature . Very fortunate man.
I am stunned by Jim's narrative about 'place'. While the house is interesting, the narrative about becoming part of nature whether you want to or not is the gift of this house. I know if I ever can find a home like this, it would be the completion of my journey in life and the full interior is a side note, though the few images of some of the spaces shows an extraordinary place to be. Most of it is outside where it should be.
Oh my god! Is incredible
! Amazing home.
few people know what they want you created what you wanted being able to enjoy and feel peace of mind while is priceless thx for sharing
Love how you showing each space of the house, architecture really use potential of the environment
Beautiful house . Perfect location facing nature's in its glory .
I clicked the video because I was interested in this style of house, and I was glad to hear that you studied in Korea. It's a very good location, a house facing south with mountains behind and water in front. Thank you for letting me see a nice house.
The first 20 seconds of this video is on repeat. Hypnotic.
Oh yeah.......show me THE HOUSE.
Got to admit some of the scenes were really artsy, but as for the house itself and what your goal was I really think you nailed it. That house, sorry, your house in that setting is about as perfect as anyone could probably hope to get. WTG!
You have the results, of course the beautiful results.
But then you have the architectural plans, the 3d model, the physics and engineering of this object. All of that is beautiful too.
The irony is that we do not get paid for making all those things. We get paid for THINKING and solving architectural problems. Jim Olson gave an outstanding solution that deserves recognition. He had fun doing what he loves the most.
Love the natural flow with Feng Shui
Parabéns, belo lugar, bela casa.
Stunning beautiful home .
loved the sunlight as backdrop for the seating.
Love this is so Beautiful and serene thank you for sharing
stunning video, stunning project stunning music!!! pure energy!!!
I wish a house like your house. It is all what I deeply need.
Beautiful! Simple, nature is the star!
Absolutely stunning !
It's a perfect dream home to spend time with nature
This house is perfect , unbelievable environment
Wow this is so beautiful😭😭😭 love nature
How beautiful and healing.
It looks very peaceful.❤️
Gorgeous nature retreat.
It's so futuristic, yet so atemporal.
As my head also can see other posibilities, just for loving the architecture as an explorative issue, how would it tourn out if the color was incorporated in some technical spaces (like, yellow in the light green rooftop metal beam or using glass in all the facades… just's because you might be seen from the front window flying over the vegetation, like you were levitating.
An absolutely beautiful house.
Like what everyone else here are saying, show the house, the house!
Beautifull film, thanks :)
Se perfeição existi, é essa casa.
Beautiful environment ♻️ love the house around the cedar :)
Lots of critical comments to mine, which is reasonable, but for me I love the film it fits my brief. Thank you so much
what a masterpiece!
I want a house like that!
Un concepto de la Vida muy interesante, gracias!
The photography on this is beautiful
Lovely layout... "It is natural for the heart and spirit to take pleasure and enjoyment in all things that show forth symmetry, harmony, and perfection. For instance: a beautiful house, a well designed garden, a symmetrical line,.." ~ Abdul-Baha, Baha'i Faith
The best treehouse I've seen yet!
Elizabeth Rouland : how many have you seen?
Beautiful.
Way too short. Why did you not show more of the inside? Also I think Bach was hijacked. Bach is so divine - anything you show with this music gets elevated to a heavenly level.
That's why I love creative people because they know the secret 😉😉
I love places like these
Classical music suits perfect to this video.
Its so elegance and beautiful house..
and you are sooooo stupid and so controlled by media and us government I hope you will find out some day, delete your you tube account and continue living in the woods eating raw veggies and making love with animals ! cheers
It’s GORGEOUS
Damn. Looks like the house from Ex Machina
Exactly
Yes it does. The house in Ex Machina is located in Norway and was featured in season one of Extraordinary Homes (available on Netflix).
juvet.com - The hotell fra Ex Machina. I live almost next door to this :) Best regards from Norway.
I think so
beautiful exprience thank you for sharing
And with J.S. Bach - Cantata BWV 4 "Christ lag in Todesbanden ...simply divine.
In fact music is far more great
Amazing. I think this place, good for write poems and maybe novel. Good 👍🏽
It reminds of the car crash scene in ferris buellers day off
That's rush the bands practice area!
@John Smith shut up
@John Smith one more time.
Shut up
😂
Im joking
God, this is my dream house. Trees, lake make everything perfect
Mantap gan jadi pengen rumah kayak gitu :3
I love thease type of houses and places. Now i am studying +1.In my future i will get a good job. Then i own this type of house. This is my big dream💯❤✨️🙌🏻
Very beautiful. Inspiring
as your comment itself. brilliant language skills!!
So peaceful
Perfection. ♡
Um, you forgot to show us the freakin' house and talk about it's design.
Open your eyes while watching.
Reminds me of when a coach hired a guy to come in and film our team for an instagram ad. Really artistic and creative shots but the stuff he was filming was just fucking trash.
My Dream **** Just beautiful !
Beautiful
Quite wonderful. Love the last video of Jim Olson walking along the water and what looks like a silhouette of a small dog observing in the foreground. Was it?
HOLY SHIT THIS SO DAMN OUTSTANDINGLY BEAUTIFULLY AMAZING!
So beautiful!
You don't need any TV screen in there. Nature world be my daily entrainment. 😍
This a piece of poetry
Points to ponder: The concept of the house is for the owner to view observe and live with nature. Asian houses faces south indirectly captures natural lights. I have seen structural w-flanges as columns and beams, cantilevered house on a cliff.
Dream Home...omg
My dream house exactly looks like this
Too many extreme closeups...(for instance, a 1’ X 2’ spot).....can’t see anything that shows me wtf this place actually looks like. Need to zoom out a bit.
Architecture isn’t always about the grand scale it’s about the moments it creates
And it made the inside of the house look super boring. TBH the best part about this wasn't even the house, it was the property.
@@KimiEclipse u know nothing please go back to arch school
@@lisandroas9 I know what I can see.
In this particular instance it was some poor choices of camera angles, closups and editing. Nothing to do with "arch"
@@KimiEclipse then if u never went to arch school please dont talk about what arch "really" is. Stay in your lane mister
gracias 🙏🏾
🍀💝so serene..beautiful
Definitely a video you should check out before buying a house. Definitely
