I didn't get this boss fight as a kid, and just kinda thought "haha funny square Mario and Luigi go brrrrr"
After learning biology in 10th grade and replaying this game about a year later, I realized....
*Bowser had built antibodies against Mario and Luigi.*

More than having antibodies designed against Mario and Luigi, and considering the form the memory bank protector took was "the most carefully preserved memory" after the fight, I'd say Bowser had antibodies BASED on Mario and Luigi, since they were the two beings he has never been able to overcome.

These are the physical manifestations of Bowser’s memories of the Mario bros.
-The strongest things he can think of
-Mario does all the cool stuff involving mushrooms and power stars
-Luigi is very clumsy, and runs from battles, and gets involved with ghosts

All the little tweaks of the new version are so wonderful. From the slightly altered sound effects to the remastered music just makes me feel so satisfied

was a neat touch but it makes scence in the original memory m dint actualy use a giant mush but a regular red one so it makes scence for him not being there because memory m actualys uses a mega mush in the remake
even tho he is missed they still paid atention to a small lil detail

I got softlocked in thia fight. I dont even know why. Luigi la invincible and Mario just left the fight vu doing an attack. Luigi is the only one on the battlefield and even by doing 10 000 damage to win, he still won't die.

So, I restarted the game and this time, mario was on the screen. I was able to defeat them. I think the problem came from the fact that both brothers need to be on screen to be able to end the fight.

Recently I finally finished the fawful express and got to this boss and I immediately died from not knowing how they attack so now I have to redo the fawful express and now I’m just stuck on it
