I love cottage decor and there is so much of it at the thrift store! What style decor is your favorite?
Would love the link to see your Pinterest "cottage core" board. Great stuff! It was amazing how much you found at the Goodwill.
I would’ve brought that pink chair in a heartbeat!
I"m wondering why I didn't?! LOL
Enjoyed this video and I especially appreciate the fact that you helped that turtle. We all need to give the critters in our world help and respect. Thank you!
Yes we do! It was such a hot day and I knew he was looking for the water - I had to help him!
❤ Kindness is contagious!
Everything was just lovely🌸. And I’m so glad you saved the turtle 😀
Thank you! I couldn't let that little guy wander around and end up in the road! He just got turned around!
Absolutely love the Nostalgic Wick candle store. What a unique concept for marrying the glass ware and candles.❤️❤️❤️
It is such a great concept - and Adrienne is just adorable!
Thank you so much! I can’t tell you how much that means to me! 🙏🏻❤️
Good morning, Paula! I love cottage core, it makes me happy! Those stoneware dishes in the gorgeous pastels would have really tempted me! I loved the candle shop, and enjoyed that segment of your video! What a wonderful line up of content! Thank you for sharing! 🌼🌼🌼
Good morning, Justine! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! It was such fun to make and I loved visiting Adrienne at her shop! Take care!
Thank you so much for the compliment Justine!
During March break I learned to crochet with my granddaughter. Since then I saved two lovely crocheted afghans form my local thrift shop. I love how the brighten up a room with warmth. Thank you for sharing The Nostalgic Wick.
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a little girl and I have so enjoyed that hobby! I love that you have rescued afghans - I love all things handmade!
When I visited my young family members out West, they had my Grandma’s crocheted afghans over their couches accessorizing their MCM decor! It melted my heart to see that!
We had napkin holders on kitchen/ dining table when growing up.
I, too loved that grannie chair, I would like that in my living room.
Enjoyed your finds.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! :)
Granny chic is a huge hit at Hullabaloo! Young trendsetters are jumping on the trend! ❤
I absolutely LOVE those sherbet glass candles! Thrift stores can be overwhelming so I love the idea of going in with a particular decorating style focus, thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Kathy! Those sherbert glass candles were my favorite, too!
Thank you so much for the feedback! This will be in the front of my mind on my next thrifting trip! We poured these in Mint Mojito. They’re great on a porch because gnats don’t like the scent but we do! 😂
Loved all the finds today, Paula. I like cottage core/old south. They can overlap a bit I think. Candles are always a favorite of mine and I enjoyed Adrian's segment. What a find on that old clock. We have one that belonged to my husband's grandmother. It is an Ansonia and we love the ticking and the chiming. However some of my not so refined guests(:)) have said that the ticking gets on their nerves. Oh well. To each his own!!
Arlene - I agree with you about Old South/Cottage Style - they can overlap and/or combine beautifully! I love the ticking of an old clock - I find it cozy and comforting! So glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you Arlene! ❤🙏🏻
I never comment, this time i have to say.... Thank you from me and all my baby sliders for returning to the pond. I have tiny babies that birds are whatever have tried to eat from tbe nest at birth. I keep them until around 3 or 4 inch. Then i release back and start over. I live in the forest wirh 3 ponds so it hapoens regularly. Sadly! Again... Thank you for being kind 🐢
Awwww ... how fun to take care of all your baby sliders! I felt so bad for the turtle in my yard that day - it was hot and I felt like he really needed to get into the water! :)
It was as though I could smell the beautiful candles! Loved all the eye candy you shared 💖
Thank you so much!
Oh thank you! Paula is wonderful at making you feel you are right there with her! ❤
I loved visiting the candle company. I’m following her now on Instagram. I’m going to customize a candle from a vessel that I have . Thanks for sharing her shop with us.
Oh Shannon that is awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much Shannon! We look forward to it!
Enjoyed your video with the cottage core and candles! So many sweet items! Thank you and your sisters for sharing! ❤
Thanks so much!
Such a great program! ❤️ We are totally addicted!
What a great video. Thrifting, cottage core, candle making!! And the re-find segment…what an amazing clock! ❤️
Thanks so much! And Judy got the deal of the century with that clock!
Amazing find! 🤩
I always had a little saying of my own.
I brake for butterflies and honk at horses!!
But I also stop when safe and rescue turtles from the road. ❤❤
I love that. Save the critters! :)
I love cottage core style and have pretty much always decorated that way my entire 36 years of marriage. It has sometimes been a little more on the “country” side like the duck plates you showed, or like now a bit more of a vintage look. I love seeing candles made in repurposed vessels. Her prices are amazing! In my area a simple glass candy dish with a candle in it can be $40+!
Thanks so much, Lisa. I also love cottage core style - and have embraced it since before it was a "thing". LOL! I just love the cozy feel it gives a home. I do also love the vintage look - and your home is the most lovely combination of vintage and cottage decor. I just love how you incorporate all of your incredible finds and display all your beautiful collections!
The houndstooth afghan and the knitted afghan would have jumped into my shopping cart :) I love the rose colored chair - what fun it would be to reupholster and perhaps use in a bedroom. Thank you for featuring Adrienne and sharing her story - her candles/vessels are really quite unique and lovely. Of course Judy stopped at a yard sale on the way to her granddaughter's wedding shower LOL - we all want a friend like Judy! The clock is absolutely stunning - a real find.
Hi Mary Beth! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - I had so much fun hunting for cottage core decor at the thrift store! And Adrienne is so creative - I love the concept of vintage glassware for candles! Clearly Judy is a kindred spirit! LOL
Thank you so much for the compliment, we are so grateful! 🙏🏻
I so love it when I find your videos!

Love today's video, everything was fun and informative. I have a few cottagecore pieces that l have mixed in with my mix of traditional and shabby chic. Over the past couple of years i have started trying to use more of my collected treasures, rotating pieces and mixing styles is giving me the opportunity. Thank you!🥰
Loved this video Paula!
Thanks so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
We love this program!! ❤
I feel like a lot of cottage core is what we used to call shabby chic.
You are absolutely right! I've loved cottage style forever - long before there was even the word "cottagecore"! :)
Yes! Because it’s not shabby at all! 😎😁
It's a re-branding that encourages the resurgence of money changing hands... mid-century modern used to just be called modern during the late 60s/70s. We are constantly being marketed to. And we eat it up. It's pretty fun for us consumers of stuff!
That clock!!!!
Gorgeous isn't it?!
Right?? 🤩
Wish I was there I collect that pattern stoneware need a few pieces to finish out
I am happy to go back and see what is still there and pick it up for you! Do you collect the pattern with the little houses like my mom or do you collect the pastel flower pattern?
@@relativelyrefined the ones your mom collects Thank you for the offer
I have that same coffe.cup from plfatzgraf. I love them
🥰🥰
You gained a subscriber just because of the turtle
Yay!! Thank you! 🥰🐢
I appreciate that you thought to help the turtle but if you research, you’ll see that you should only help the turtle to continue to go in the direction it was first headed. It is very bad for turtles to be put where ‘we’ think they should be because they have excellent sense of direction and have a purpose for their journey. How would you feel if you were headed to California but someone picked you up and took you to the New England coast instead because they thought that was surely a better destination for you?
I had no idea! Thanks so much for letting me know! I will trust any future turtles to their own GPS! :)
@@relativelyrefined crazy, isn’t it?! I did the same as you! Took it to a huge nice and very large drain off pond and then watched a video about turtles that are often seen in neighborhoods and I felt SO bad for it!! It broke my heart to know I caused it distress!
Many plates are made in china😮
Indeed! :)
Yes unfortunately! We actually have done a lot of research about pieces we up-cycle for candles because we won’t use anything that might emit toxins into the air of your home. We’ve learned so much about European & American history in the meantime! So fascinating!
