Nobody knows who most wrestlers are, unless your last name is Cena, Johnson or Hogan/Bollea. Maybe a handful of other legends are known to non-fans, but no one from today's generation is known outside wrestling fandom (yes, that includes Roman Reigns).

They did care in the beginning, they had their own buzz and were making good money without TK. The problem is these guys aren't really young anymore, don't look like stars, have corny/nerdy personalities and wrestle a formulaic style that isn't fresh anymore. As Konnan alluded to they're also complacent as hell. 5 years ago this wasn't the case though.

The Bucks were never the reason people tuned in for AEW. It was the former WWE talent that was getting the viewers early on.
@@iNsAnEwBiE Hard disagree. Other than Jericho and Moxley, there weren't that many ex WWE guys during the first year of AEW. That happened during the pandemic when WWE fired a bunch of people that AEW ended up hiring, along with Danielson and Punk.

Tony Khan doesn't understand how the wrestling business works, him keeping The Bucks on the roster is proof. You're supposed to keep your roster FRESH.

That I think is the biggest issue that people have when talking with Tony. So often they say he remembers all kinds of things and matches about people's careers and they assume that he should have a mind for the business. But Tony doesn't really seem to. Given how bad attendance is he should be booking smaller buildings. Looking at his tv product he should be doing the tv tapings for their third show as the pre show for Dynamite. He really needs to see who's actually doing well both audience reaction wise and numbers wise because the ones he's wants to push tend to get the worst numbers. He also needs to figure out how to book his female wrestlers because there are now several examples of individuals passing on his company because they'd feel their stock would drop do to bad booking.

I think the bucks have beyond run their course there. Everything they do comes across as phony, they lose viewership when they come on, and they was instrumental behind the scenes at trying to get Punk out of the company. Who was their biggest star and ratings draw. Does that sound like guys that care about the company and being serious? Nope.

I dont watch AEW much, and when i turned it on it was the young bucks and acclaimed. I didnt even reconize the bucks. Their gear look like sweats and a tuxedo vest. Looked out of sbape, too. It surprised me.
I would like very much if the Bucks were gone from professional wrestling period, nobody cares about them except Meltzer and his boyfriend Alvarez .
Tony Khan is a guy who kept ratings poison like the Young Bucks and let guys like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk walk out of AEW. Let that sink in. Cody wasn't a popular guy in AEW like he's in WWE but he kept the roster from falling apart backstage. CM Punk made AEW look more legitimate rather than seem indy and was their biggest signing.
The Bucks and their friends are the guys who don't take the business seriously and are a joke that should have been fired.

In these 5 years they never had a decent feud, all of their segments/promos are goofy and feel insincere (bad acting), their matches are the same spotfest with no selling, their gimmick is not working because everybody can tell is phony and also they look out of shape and not like they can kick somebody's ass... It’s unfortunate… they were one of the hottest teams/factions pre-AEW, and now they been greatly reduced. They still have the banger ppv matches 4-5 times a year, but outside of that, nothing really matters, and all of that falls on Tony. Their characters are even good now, it’s just nothing matters in AEW. Everything is stagnant.

1- they haven't had any good angles because they don't know how to carry good angles. Its part on them but a heavy part on Tony and his inability to build captivating creative.
2- They tried to backdoor their way to the tag titles and Sting's retirement match and then managed to not even defend the belts until All In. How does that progress the tag division when your "biggest tag team", highest paid tag team, and EVPs aren't doing anything with the belts? This company has been making a big deal about whis is where the best wrestling, but I guess that doesn't include defend your belts. 🤷♂
Unless Kenny comes back, I'd say no.. Tony is far in too deep to let them go and would take a massive hit admiting defeat.. It could lead to an AEW Renaissance if the booking got better, but this is Tony Khan we're talking about

I honestly think that the Bucks have lost their passion. Prior to AEW they were wrestling way more than they do now, and some may have considered their shtick in the ring innovative and refreshing during a time when Tag Team Wrestling was not really at the forefront. Fast forward 5 years and both of them wrestle less than 30 times in a calendar year, which is just not enough to stay sharp. The first angle with the Omega/Hangman "saga" mixed with Christian/Jungle Boy etc was something I suppose but after 2021 that ran its course. I think the false hype finally died down when people were seeing them on TV every week and realizing they were good in dribs and drabs but as characters on a weekly TV show, they dont have a whole lot to offer and are a one trick pony really. Their unwillingness to put people over unless they kick out of everything first is also an issue that made me stop watching their matches.
They were meant to be on the independent circuit with a hunger to get ahead, they weren't cut out to be global. They found ways to entertain people once upon a time with their YT channel... They don't even do that anymore.
They'll never go to WWE and WWE dont need them.

This entire clip was barely a minute long. More than a minute and a half was taken up with commercials at the beginning and end. The Young Bucks suck. They worked Uncle Dave and built their reputation on the fact that he has rated nearly every one of their matches four stars or higher for several years now. It worked when they were in New Japan because no one actually saw them. I'll admit that I fell for it too. I was excited to see them when AEW first started, since I had never actually seen them before. It took about two or three months for me to realize that I never wanted to see them again. After all the drama with Punk, I never wanted to see AEW again. The Bucks and the rest of the PWG crew are a big part of the reason that AEW is failing. They brought all of their friends in, and put them in positions that they had no right to be in. It has rotted the company from the inside out. Tony Khan is part of the problem, but that could have been mitigated to some degree if he had competent people around him that knew what they were doing. Thanks to the Bucks and their influence, he doesn't. Thanks to the Bucks, Tony is running a tv wrestling company without a single person in a position of power that actually has experience working in a tv wrestling company.

I like your takes on pro wrestling but you two have two blindspots when it comes to Russo and the bucks. Russo was a horrible writer and still has horrible takes on wrestling and the bucks are not a good tag team and being on weekly TV exposes them for what they are and that's an indie level tag team because having to do character work every week has been brutal. Disco saying they wrestle old school style is a joke when their matches consists of hardly selling and dozens of super kicks.
