That bit about Tony not answering questions-we all completely understand why Ariel Helwani felt the way he did when he tried interviewing Tony. Because he either does wall-to-wall advertising or spinning the conversation so much that he flies by the question he gets asked.

Jericho is the last guy you want out there. Do you really want your company's image to be some Vince Neil impersonator telling everyone how great he is?
Biggest issue I have with Tony is he creates his own problems. @@rizkyanandita8227 why I crap on his booking. He’s throwing the future of his company away for his ego. The incident at wembly is bullshit and I’ll tell you why. In this business there is a term called “card subject to change.” It doesn’t matter how big the show is, even wrestlemania has that byline. Tony khan was under no obligation to let that match go on if he didn’t want to. If he truly feared for his life and the life of his employees like he’s stated. If cm punk really was the unhinged villain they say he is, and he jumped jungle boy, and then lunged at tony, screamed “I quit” and ran off and Samoa Joe ran after him like a lover from days of our lives, then why did no one notice? He still had a job despite “quitting” and the match went on exactly as schedule. No delays, no hold times, it happened exactly as it was scheduled to and no one was the wiser. How would punk have time to say he quit? Storm off, get calmed down by Joe, and come back to wrestle when his match was on first and no one noticed? And then after the match he’s backstage with joe, a referee, and Jerry Lynn a producer in the company, all smiling and posing together. These are not the actions of co workers and producers who’s boss was just “lunged at” they did not ask him to leave nor were they afraid of repercussions from tony for hanging out with him. If cm punk really made Tony khan fear for his life and the life of his employees punk would’ve been removed from the premises by security like any other real life place of employment.

After hearing the Phil Knight thing, i have to imagine Punk returning to WWE and go into a feude against LA Knight, doing a spoof promo as CM Knight. Akin to what Miz did, just better (and most likely funnier).
Ya know I gotta ask can someone in the UK check into whether or not there's a freedom of information act route to get the security tape? I don't know if I can wait for Phil to show it live on Raw in a month 😂
I think the tape is owned by the venue so I won’t be able to get it. The attendance number needs to be reported to the Govt in the UK by law. That is why you can get it by FOI
It's not Freedom Of Information that would cover this, it's actually a data protection law in the UK. As far as I understand it, any of the parties on the CCTV would be able to request it, so Phil would be able to get the footage. I'm not sure that he would be able to release the footage for broadcast without clearance from the other parties, although he could maybe blur faces and be OK.

Tony Khan in charge of AEW is like Joffrey being the king of all seven kingdoms in Westeros.
That is a great way to put it.
But there is no Tywin or Tyrion Lannister trying to keep things functioning somewhat
@@PHOENiXIlRiSiNG I don’t know Dork Order members could play those roles Stu Grayson and John Silver as Tyrion seems about right.

Lol I've been around gunfire. This dude has literally lived a sheltered life if Punk yelling at him made him fear for his life.
Settle down Rambo
Don't forget folks he feared for his life lol

Tony at interview
Hey Tony what did you have for breakfast
Tony: oh man AEW is doing great. We just sold out wembly stadium. We just have a great time with a great tv and A great company and tonight we have a great show. Thanks guys
That bit about Tony not answering questions-we all completely understand why Ariel Helwani felt the way he did when he tried interviewing Tony. Because he either does wall-to-wall advertising or spinning the conversation so much that he flies by the question he gets asked.
If Tony had been born into a family with normal income, we'd know him from his mugshot and his manifesto.
Lost in all of the back and forth was the one guy telling Tony "you don't understand how promotion works!" 😂
This reminds me of the Key & Peele sketch where the football player just responds the same way for every answer 😂
I find it funny that he won't answer any questions from interviews but will tweet endlessly at people with 200 fans on twitter.
The crossover I never knew I needed. Cornette and Lebatard
Every question he was asked Tony literally responded with Wembleys attendance 😭🤣
He said after Wembley network executives were telling his dad "Your son's killing it,your son's killing it" I think they were trying to tell Shad something. Tony has been killing tv radio podcasts and towns.
It's Great!😂😂😂😂😂
“He killing it (AEW) 😭, please Shad help us”

The ending of that interview was something
"YOU GET THE SHOW!"

I had already lost all if any respect I had for TK when he fired CM Punk. So with this meltdown I don’t even know where we’re at🤷🏻♂️😿
That Tony Khan interview was classic. I haven't laughed so hard from an interview in awhile.
Let's Do It Again, First Name and Numbers
😂😂❤
I am speechless at this. There is no reason Tony has said hey Jericho you’re my interview guy, or when they had Regal, somebody mature and smart enough to think of their feet.
He created a wrestling attention for himself. That’s all he wanted. I can say if I had the money, first few phone calls I’d make are to Jim and say if you don’t want to book, fine, you got Dutch’s number? Ok cool, what about JR? Get me in touch with somebody who is smarter than me and we can get up and running. Tony wants to be the face of a company but just wants the showering of praise not the New Generation Era.
Jericho is the last guy you want out there. Do you really want your company's image to be some Vince Neil impersonator telling everyone how great he is?
regal was a wwe spy smh
Dutch? 😂😂😂😂😂
@@natebaxter9551 If he's an insufferable cowardly heel champion, maybe?
Jericho at least has a personality and a good booker could work with that.
@@budwyzer77 you mean he needs Vince? Someone to say no to his stupid ideas and make him work out.
Biggest issue I have with Tony is he creates his own problems. He has some of the top guys around him and tons of money and instead of delegating responsibility to competent people he does everything himself. As a boss you oversee things, you shouldn't be booking everything. You should have a structure in place.
As someone said it. He wants all the credit, that's why he put his hand on everything.
@@rizkyanandita8227 why I crap on his booking. He’s throwing the future of his company away for his ego. He can turn things around, WWE managed to after years of awful booking but he’s getting to a point where he might be looked at as the new Impact soon where people won’t even give them another chance. People can be forgiving but he needs a new face for the company as well. The one thing I’m fairly confident about is that other people have had this conversation with him more then once.
@rizkyanandita8227 That's exactly why he told Jim: nobody will be writing the show but me. He knew that person would get the credit if it was a success.
@@walsh9080it's a dumb outlet to me. When you're the boss, you have 10k responsibilities. The goal of any boss should be to automate/outsource whatever you can to free up your time. It's one thing if he was the best for a job but he's not. His job is to build the infrastructure and guide the direction of the company. Most of his problems have come up due to how he's run AEW.
@@geneanthony3421 Completely agree. When he said this before the company even started I would've had the same reaction as Cornette "this is his vanity project" because like you said, there is no reason for him to do that on his own.
I believe poor Tony is mentally unwell. He has an unfortunate childlike mental frame, and someone that cares about him needs to get thru to him.
I’m waiting for WWE to head to Wembley so they can break that ticket record 😂
They won't, they already did Wembley 31 years ago and in a much better time period for the wrsstling business.
AEW didn't break the record in the first place, they just lied about it and got caught with their dirty paws in the cookie jar and now Tony is in damage control mode.

Typical example of Tony escaping the wrestling press bubble and being humbled
Sadly, this won't humble him one damned bit; he'll just retreat farther into his delusional paranoia.

My favorite crossover of all time. Jim cornette and dan lebatard
Fun fact: Hulk Hogan was backstage when Punk lunged at Tony.
Hulk was also in CM Punk’s last match in 2014 during the royal rumble.
I felt always that punk did it to get himself out of the contract he was stuck with. I think he ended up having wrestlers remorse over signing the deal in the first place. I think that CM Punk knew that it would never change no matter what he tried to do. So after they screwed up his travel, he decided to take it into his own hands and say. I rather not get paid at all anymore. And be free, then get paid and be trapped in a bad contract.
Yup. I’ve thought this as well.
Yeah I heard he ghosted them after All In. Well after he took pictures with the guys. Surprised they didn't bring that up. 😂😂😂
@@8Bitorbust not like Tony would’ve answered the question anyway, even if they did mention it. lol if he grows it right, the company could be amazing. The problem is he’s listening to people that are bringing the show down instead of bringing it up
I suspect if Punk regrets choking out Jungle Boy at all it's only because he didn't hold out for another shot at The Bucks. I can't imagine he's remotely upset about no longer working for the world's dumbest "wrestling" company.
Tony looks like a coward whenever he doesn't answer questions.
As Brian said, it reminded me a lot of the Ariel interview where he avoided every question and just said how great the company was doing.
The Wembley attendance talk sounds like Trump talking about his inauguration 😂

The difference between Tony Khan and Triple H
Triple H tackled the Edge question outright, and gave an honest answer, he didn't run from it, he talked about it, now it won't be brought up again
Tony Khan gets asked about anything contreversial, and either hides, or doesn't want to talk about it, so it gets brought up for months.
It shows who's more professional. And like Christian, I'm gonna tell Tony Khan, go fuck yourself, in anything stupid he posts, until he blocks me.
Tony is like a politician at a debate that will just keep going back to his talking points regardless of what the question is.
He's less flexible than a stale baguette.
I swear trump and Biden don’t dodge as many questions as tony Khan does. Heck Tony makes any politician sound like they don’t dodge questions.
Hey Tony, how's the weather today?
"Ohhh, well yeah I mean you know its a little cold out, but that just means you gotta wear an extra layer on your way to the next taping of Dymamite. You know, we're on our hottest run of shows ever right now and we just set the attendance record all time, you know, for like, for attendance all time just a few months ago. So you know, the show is great and the fans, love the fans. Oh and they love it. And I mean yeah some fans are mad, but we like to see that passion. But we're on a great run, a great run. And the talent is great, we have some of the best names in the business."

A Tony Khan interview without answering any questions is like a press conference with Karine Jean-Pierre.
The snowman has gone off the rails lmao 😂😂😂
After hearing the Phil Knight thing, i have to imagine Punk returning to WWE and go into a feude against LA Knight, doing a spoof promo as CM Knight. Akin to what Miz did, just better (and most likely funnier).
Tony or his team didn’t prepare him for Le Batard. Dan doesn’t hold back. Why he was one of my favorites on ESPN.
I'm still waiting for him to go at Tony for saying Urban Meyer was the best thing ever before nosediving in the NFL.
Not true. Tony is friendly with the lebatard crew and has had them at events and on their yacht
Tony did the same thing with Ariel Helwani last year where he just refused to answer questions. How long before he sends out a tweet attacking Dan Le Batard? 😂😂
Once Le Batard invite WWE and compliments Nick or Triple H for giving a good interview while subtlety jabbing on Tony, then he would start the tweet
Followed by a plethora of whining from the observer about LeBatard being a Big Meanie Head to Cokie
“They offered him…. PEPSI!! He feared for his life!!!” Their show only gets 3.75 stars.
Having Tony Khan on your show for an interview... Laaaazy booking!
They tried to play nice but he kinda forced their hand. As much as he is promoing and talking about HIS show, he completely doesn't understand THEY have a show to do, and as they said, the deal is you get to shill but you give us LITERALLY JUST A CRUMB OF AN "EXCLUSIVE" ANSWER. Good on them for not letting it go.
I am waiting for someone to just kick him off. Like after he says the same shit for the fifth time in a row they just go "Get out! Get the fuck out! Answer the actual God damn question or get the fuck out of my interview!"
I don't believe anyone has threatened his life. Everyone runs to the ol' death threats routine to garner some sympathy.
"Tony loves wrestling. He doesn't understand why the rest of us do."
Damn. What a perfect way to boil down so many of the problems of Tony Khan into a sentence.
He pushes that ticket sales but Wrestlemania 32 is judged by attendance but not tickets sold.
AEW fans complains about tribalism while AEW employees are pushing it more than anyone else.
I think Tony is afraid WB will be bought by Comcast before he signs a new tv deal, the rumors of the sale is getting really strong lately.
Comcast is a scam. Everything should be done to block those grifters from ever making another dime. Their executives deserve bankruptcy and to starve on the street homeless
They are literally the reason why it’s so bad. I wanted AEW to succeed. A lot of wrestling fans did. Until we started to see that it’s entire promotional strategy is Anti Fed or Anti Vince. That’s cool when the WWE was in the toilet but now that they’re doing better, now you have people ready to chirp back at them. It hilarious to watch actually 😂
