Hi Randy, some nice vclt from Mr ATWAS. He’s very generous to us all! You had a good month. Stand outs for me Big Country, I think Gene Pitney’s been neglected over the years, great songs and performer. Nancy.. just lovely as always. Mike
Thanks Mike. I knew the Big Country album so well, I know I must have had a recorded tape or something. I usually try and grab any Gene Pitney or Nancy Sinatra albums I come across, plus usually they are not very expensive. Steve is great.
@@RandyforRoyals …they do have a few a pretty solid ones. Universal Juveniles, High Class in Borrowed Shoes and A Million Vacations would be ones I’d would suggest (they also do a pretty cool tune with Rush called Battle Scar)
Nice vinyl finds. That Raspberries album has some really good tunes on it. I know you're a big fan of Dave Edmunds and Gene Pitney, cool to add those to your collection. Enjoy the vclt from Steve too. Happy spinning Randy.
The Raspberries had some great infectious pop tunes. It's too bad Eric Carmen's solo career didn't connect with me as well. I think that any Edmunds or Pitney album has something to recommend it. Steve is great and I will have to see how this album compares to Neil Young.
I don't remember much about Max Webster, maybe before my time or better known in eastern Canada but Go For Soda was a decent hit that got a lot of radio play across the country, Patio Lanterns off the next Kim Mitchell album was even bigger and is maybe his most well known song. Owned The Crossing since new, one of the first handful of LP's I bought on my own. Always intriguing to find a modern record in a thrift store and sealed as well. Cheers!
I'm not sure where Max Webster were located but I kind of remember the "Go For Soda" song which I butchered and said "Go For A Soda." I will have to listen to "Patio Lanterns" and see if I remember it. I know the songs of The Crossing very well, so I must have recorded a tape off a friend's copy back in the day. I'm usually not successful at thrift stores but this was a nice exception. Take care.
My aunt and uncle both were professors at Transylvania, it was chartered by Thomas Jefferson. I'm very jealous that Steve sends gifts to others, but I'll get over it. Alex gave me that Raspberries album, so good. James McMurtry sounds so familiar, where should I start?
It's great that there is some family history there. I went to the campus bookstore and bought a shirt there mainly because I had been to Transylvania in Romania. I'm sure that it was a temporary thing and you will be hearing from Steve soon. I think that his debut is a great place to start called Too Long In The Wasteland from 1989. The Raspberries album is a power pop classic.
Now that I have some Kim Mitchell, I might have to search out his group Max Webster. I have always liked Gene Pitney's voice and try and grab any that I don't have as they are usually not very expensive. The same goes for Nancy.
Hey, cool VCLT from ATWAS. Nice to see you got some Kim Mitchell. I like that Big Country record. I have never heard of James McMurtry, but I might give him a listen.
Hi Randy!!! well done and cool finds had no idea Eric Carmen's previous band was the Raspberries...... Awesome VCLT from the one and only Steve, it's tough to say it's better than Neil Young, so looking to hear your thoughts about it. cheers and be well
I like his work in the Raspberries much more than his solo work. I had streamed a couple of songs and liked it but it will be a challenge for me to like him more than Neil Young. Thanks for watching.
Well you are making so many beautiful videos and publishing them on UA-cam I watch them continuously and more people watch them. Well don't you want more people to watch your videos and I want to tell you something about this video.

Killer vclt from Steve! 👏👏 and great finds, that Big Country is really good, i actually have 3 albums by them 😂 happy spinning my friend 👍🤘🤘
Thanks Aaron. I do have two Big Country albums but this one is probably my favorite. Steve is great on zeroing in on things you would like.
Good stuff Randy. That Kim Mitchell album is pretty good (Lager and Ale and All We Are are standouts for me). ✌️
I do like the album and it has me thinking that I need to look out for some Max Webster albums.

@@doctorfutou I will keep an eye out for their albums.
@@RandyforRoyals ✌️….probably should have mentioned Diamonds Diamonds is a greatest hits album as well.
